Sounds perfect!!! Enjoy your stay! Post some pictures if you have some time!

Thanks!!! We are definitely booking the bounceback :)

Before I forget, last nights CL offerings were beef Wellington and mango guava empanadas. Chef Eugene was fabulous, as always and greeted us like family. It's always nice to see familiar faces here. The entire staff has been wonderful.

Amazing!!! We can't wait for our first CL stay next month!

Just left our first Poly CL stay! It was an absolutely perfect trip and I can't wait to post pictures of new merchandise/prices and the nightly food offerings! I wouldn't have changed anything about our trip but I think I could go back to the Poly without CL. Of course we would always stay CL if it were financially possible but I think I built it up more in my head before we got there. We had great cast members (Chef Eugene and Irve in particular) but no real extra pixie dust. I love these boards but I knew exactly what to expect so little things like turn down didn't blow my mind. The food was wonderful and we definitely found a good value in it. We only ate one sometimes two counter services a day (plus snacks in the park) and relied on the lounge for the rest and were very content. I wouldn't say my family is light eaters either but last night for instance was beef Wellington- I was satisfied. IMO at CL you're really just paying for the food and the lounge which was fantastic but not a necessity. We would like to stay CL again but I also am glad that some of the mystery is gone- I would be happy back in Samoa too. Pictures to come soon

So was the VIP a celebrity? I'm dying to know! :)

Can't confirm but I heard rumors that Drew Brees' family was there. I'm almost positive I saw his wife and children but not himself. We're from South Mississippi so were pretty familiar with the Saints but who knows!

We are sitting by the pool enjoying some Florida sunshine. The morning was cloudy and cool with lots of breezes but it cleared up very nicely.

Dani Sounds like your trip is wonderful so far. :goodvibes

Drake Bell was at the Spirit of Aloha dinner show Wednesday! A woman I met in the pool was at a table near his. I would have FREAKED!

OMG I would have FREAKED OUT! I LOVE HIM!!!! I seriously would have embarrassed myself & anyone around me. And it would have been worth it!

We ran into Ross Lynch & his band (Austin from Austin & Allie on Disney Channel) twice last month - once at AK & then at dinner at GFC. I'm not even a fan of his but I was star struck!

New poster with a question...

I just read on another thread that the volcano pool at the Poly is going to be closed this fall for some reason... Does anyone here know if that is true? We are booked at the Poly end of October but the pool being closed could possibly change that.

Thanks!

That was based on a comment by a CM working at the pool bar. The volcano pool was schedule for routine maintenance earlier this year but it didn't happen since they were still working on the GF pool. There is nothing showing on the Disney TA site or on the parent site for this board for any rehabs at the Poly. Most likely the routine maintenance will be performed some time this fall but no dates have been posted as yet.

The laundry is next to the Neverland Club in the Tangaroa Terrace bldg (next to the Rarotonga longhouse). $2 ea (quarters) for washer and dryer with vending machines for detergent, etc if you forget.

Have fun on your trip!!!! We booked a bounceback offer and will be returning the week of Thanksgiving.....can't wait!

Catnik, you should re-post what you said on the other thread about the Poly DVC. Your post makes a lot more sense than most of the "rumors" that have been floating around.

Soooo after doing end of June/early July long weekend trips the last two years (my bday is one week before July 4th, so last year we spent my 40th at BC for instance), we said we absolutely wouldn't do it this year. Until we just booked the Poly on Friday for the July 4th weekend. :rotfl2:

Here's the dilemma. We actually arrive on July 4th, and the only dinner ADR we could get was Citricos at 8:10. Ohana and Kona were booked solid. So we figured either Captain Cooks and watch the fireworks (which we saw two years ago when we stayed at the CR), but someone said Cooks would be crazy that night, or just go to dinner and forget the fireworks, and catch Wishes (which i know isn't the same) later in the weekend. Decisions, decisions...

I could be crazy (in fact I'm sure of it;)), but I thought on the Theme Parks thread someone said that they would be doing the 4th of July fireworks ALL week this year during the 4th?? So if that happens to be true, you could still see those fireworks on the next night??
