Hope your trip is fantastic. Would love to see pics of your patio on the Marina side, we are planning on requesting Fiji first floor too and I am thinking of requesting Luau Cove side but still not sure :confused3

I think I finally figured this out!! Here is sour view from room 1314. (Hopefully, it works!!)

This is the longhouse and view we have stayed the past three times we have been there. Last year we stayed on the 3rd floor which we enjoy the most!!
Enjoy your time there!

Great photo! I can't wait to see more. So is that considered a marina view or standard view?

That is the marina view but it's the same price as a standard view. All the rooms in Fuji are standard view so you request Fiji, marina side. That's the side we always stay at and love it!!

Oh thank you so so much I can not wait to book our trip and put in a request for Fiji :goodvibes

We checked in online and were only allowed to make two requests. Marina wasn't an option. I had requested Fiji building + patio. Got the beach side and requested a move at check-in.

I'm debating taking my iPad. If the room isn't ready when we check in (tomorrow!), and we're checking in about noon so it's likely it won't be, I believe my options are to carry it with me in my backpack or check it with bell services. It would be the only thing I would check. Does anyone have any experience at the Poly with such?

I don't have a smartphone, so the iPad would be my only "device" for the week.

Des anyone have pictures of the Tonga suites. We are staying in a one bedroom suite in November and I have seen the ones Mary from PA added but didn't know if there were others I haven't seen. Thanks!

Good to know about the online check in although I wasn't planning on using it . I like doing it the old fashion way.

Giant, giant shout out to the Polynesian staff. Especially Yvonne at the front desk & Michael at the Poly monorail station. I'm still shaking.

My daughter left her new iPod Touch on the monorail ... And we GOT IT BACK!!! Yvonne jumped on the phone and started making calls with my husband while I ran back upstairs to the monorail. They put an all stop on the rail until they found it and brought it back on the pink monorail.

It was one of the most magical experiences. My daughter learned a valuable lesson -- and the iPod doesn't leave the room tomorrow.

WOW now that was great!

She's usually really responsible, which is why was all the more heart-breaking. After they found it, all the front desk staff clapped. I'm just so shocked!

You certainly had some pixie dust sprinkled on you :tink: .That is a very magical experience. So glad she got it back and the Poly staff was so helpful! :thumbsup2

Yes they do, but I don't think any of the options are dye/scent free. I remember Tide and Downy fabric sheets, but there is only one other option and I'm sorry but I can't remember. I did the all-in-one sheets which was much easier traveling with, but no sure if they make them in a dye/scent free. I would bring whatever specialty item you need and not hope for it there. Enjoy - we LOVE the POLY!

I use Purex one sheets (detergent & fabric softener on a sheet- no liquid) in both scent/dye free and regular. They are so difficult to find around here in the stores that I buy them online. Even online they are hard to get so google it or try drugstore.com.

GYPSY-DOODLE-BUG, I am wondering why you choose the Marina view over the beach view at the Fiji building?
I'm trying to decide which way to go and I'd love your input. Great news about the IPod!

Same ones we use! The only store I've found them by us is Ultra Foods. They are so convenient to travel with especially when you are soaking your clothes in sweat every day!

We like being able to see the volcano and boats! We would probably like the balconies to cut down on traffic, but we are too lazy to take the steps!! We would have been perfectly happy with beach view side, too. Anything but a parking lot!!

I am torn too and Bob is really no help I showed him your picture gypsydoodlebug and he likes the view of the volcano but also thinks it would be nice to be able to walk out on the grass and over to the beach on the Luau Cove Side. He has restless leg syndrome and walks about some nights, reason we are trying a 1st floor patio this trip. We love balconies but nowhere for him to stretch his legs

Same here. I've used these on every trip. It's easier than having to make sure I have money for the laundry. Plus since they're flat they pack so easily in the suitcase! I'm hoping this year I will finally get a vacation without having to do laundry! LOL But....I'm bringing the sheets just in case ;)

I like how good my suitcase smells too! Even when I put them in a ziploc bag, they make the clothes smell good (well, when they are unused!) Glad to hear I'm not the only one that loves these. It was because of these sheets that my children were able to start doing their own laundry at a young age!

So I received a call from someone who said she was calling from the polynesian(whether she was or from the general disney lines) informing me that the request I made (Samoa, Ground Floor) could not be granted since the building is under construction. She then asked if I would like to make an add'l request. I told her Tokelau ,Ground Floor, Closest to the beach. She paused for a minute or two( I thought she was typing my requests in) and then came on the line and said "bare with me...I am checking to see if a room with these requests will be available" She then said that she has blocked us a room off and to enjoy our vacation. Has anyone else received a phone call like this :confused3 I guess we will see on Saturday which room she blocked!!! 4 days and counting
