If the cost isn't that much of an issue, then I would probably say that TPV room is worth it, with the one caveat being that balconies in Hawaii aren't guaranteed. You can certainly request them (and I could be wrong, but more TPV rooms are on the third floor with the balconies as opposed to the second floor) but they aren't guaranteed. Of course you could face the same problem with the GV rooms, but I would be less annoyed about that since I didn't fork over $100+ more per night for the room...

Not sure if I should post this here or on the restaurant board but I thought I'd try here first.

I know Capn Cooks has a Dole Whip machine but do they have pineapple juice so I can make my own float? Just wondering if I need to add pineapple juice to my grocery list.

Also, I think it got lost so I'm asking agian, does anyone know what kind of coffee makers the rooms have?

I don't think they have pineapple juice at CC's. Not sure about the coffeemakers. I think they may be upgrading to a better brand with the room updates but I could be wrong about that.

The coffee makers have been switched from the tiny Mr. Coffee type with carafe and filter baskets to a Cuisinart pod system. I have to admit that I am a coffee snob so I haven't even tried the pods. I bring my own electric kettle and coffee making supplies so I can have a super fabulous cup of coffee in the morning. I make a second cup before leaving the room and put it in the fridge for an iced coffee later.

So it's like a k-cup? If so, that's good for us. I don't drink coffee but hubby likes his Keurig and DD makes hot cocoa. We'll bring the k-cups from home. Thanks!

No. K cups won't work. They are oval shaped bags. I have a pic I will go get it.

Sorry if I wasn't clear... I'm debating GV CL vs TPV CL. :)
We've done both ... and we much prefer the GV CL side. We don't spend a lot of time (if any) out on the balcony anyway and if we do want to watch the fireworks or the water parade we can just go to the lounge where they pipe in the music/sound or head on out to the beach. GV CL is much quieter for sleeping, in our opinion anyway (you don't hear the toot toot of the boats). If it were my decision, I'd say save the money and do GV CL, then you can use that money to have a nice anniversary dinner at one of the Signature restaurants. But really, it all boils down to personal preference. If you want TPV CL then do it.

Just so you are aware, this is the view from the third level TPV CL rooms

I apologize if this has already been asked (I did search the thread and didn't find this info)...

Can anyone tell me what other resorts the Poly shares buses with? Particularly going to AK, HS, and DTD (or what stops are between DTD and they Poly, for example: Typhoon Lagoon)? I'm thinking it may be worth driving to those locations...

TIA!

Just a quick dining report, we're in WDW now and visited the Poly on Tuesday for dinner at Kona Cafe. Everything was excellent, as usual. HIGHLY recommend the new lamb chops. Seriously excellent!

TBH, that picture is why I don't think it makes that much sense to pay for a TPV room at the Poly. The MK is too far away for it to really be that much more of an upgrade from a regular lagoon view. I can understand wanting to face the water instead of the resort grounds, but being able to see the tip of the castle from across the lagoon doesn't seem worth it. That said, in the Hawaii building, almost no lagoon view rooms have balconies (I think there's only one on the third floor) so if you want that view AND a balcony paying for TPV is probably worth it, even though there still is a risk of no balcony.

The Poly only runs buses to DHS, AK, and DTD, aside from the waterparks. For DHS and AK they share with CR and GF. For DTD sometimes the bus shared with WL, sometimes CR and GF.

If I am able to get an 7:30 ressie for 'Ohana breakfast, is there any chance I can make MK rope drop, or will I need to plan on having to skip out a little early to make it? I have yet to see the MK opening show. TIA!

It would be cutting it kind of close, but it's possible.
