We've done both ... and we much prefer the GV CL side. We don't spend a lot of time (if any) out on the balcony anyway and if we do want to watch the fireworks or the water parade we can just go to the lounge where they pipe in the music/sound or head on out to the beach. GV CL is much quieter for sleeping, in our opinion anyway (you don't hear the toot toot of the boats). If it were my decision, I'd say save the money and do GV CL, then you can use that money to have a nice anniversary dinner at one of the Signature restaurants. But really, it all boils down to personal preference. If you want TPV CL then do it.
TBH, that picture is why I don't think it makes that much sense to pay for a TPV room at the Poly. The MK is too far away for it to really be that much more of an upgrade from a regular lagoon view. I can understand wanting to face the water instead of the resort grounds, but being able to see the tip of the castle from across the lagoon doesn't seem worth it. That said, in the Hawaii building, almost no lagoon view rooms have balconies (I think there's only one on the third floor) so if you want that view AND a balcony paying for TPV is probably worth it, even though there still is a risk of no balcony.
Ok so i was so misled by two disney travel agents so I call disney customer service just so they could retrain them. And they where very short and snippy with me I though they are all about customer care I guess not. So next time where can i book and still great the deals they offer?

35 more days until I see the lovely Poly again!![]()
Joining in again! It's been a while since I posted and wanted to see my ticker...
Hi everyone! I was trying to find out of the Polynesian had a Hair Salon? We will be doing breakfast here one morning of MNSSHP and I wanted to get my hair washed and styled. It would make it easier than having to go to another resort. If the Poly doesn't, does anyone know of the Grand Floridian has one?
Unfortunately the Poly doesn't have a hair salon. There is one at the GF called the Ivy Trellis.
Just how were you misled???
You say two "Disney travel agents" - were they the individuals you speak to when you call the 407-W-DISNEY number? Or where they just TA's working for an agency who said they Disney specialists?
I did call 407-W-Disney. The first agent told me since my mom was handicapped she would request the Hawaii building for us with rooms adjacent to each other. After doing research on my own I learned the Hawaii building was the club building so we had no chance of getting that requested building. I then learned 2 handicapped rooms will never be adjacent that they are spread out. The agent also suggested I get a handicapped room incase my mother wanted to come into my room with her scooter that the handicapped rooms are bigger. When my wife called another day, got another agent she was told all rooms are the same size and the chance of getting 2 handicapped rooms together were not possible and we would possibly not even be on the same floor. My wife called back because she felt bad requesting and taking a handicapped room away from someone who may actually need it when we do not and my mother-in-law can have her own handicapped room why take 2 rooms? I then called back again to take the Hawaii request off and I asked for a building where construction was done already since my mother would surely rest during the day and I wouldn't want her next to construction. The agent told me she didn't have the construction list so whe couldn't tell me which rooms were done but assured me it wasn't heavy construction so my mom wouldn't be bothered. Then I came across Tiki Man website and he has the total list of construction! How is that possible when a Disney agent doesn't have the list? Very misled, they need to better train these Disney travel agents because they are giving false information, requesting rooms for people they have no chance of getting and it's a shame Tiki man can't book reservations he seems to be the most knowledgeable!!
If I am able to get an 7:30 ressie for 'Ohana breakfast, is there any chance I can make MK rope drop, or will I need to plan on having to skip out a little early to make it? I have yet to see the MK opening show. TIA!
You can book directly through Disney. The travel agents don't have access to any better deals than the public. At the top of the resort forum there is sticky for a thread for codes & deals. You can hang out in there and you will find out pretty quickly when a new discount drops. Also, WDW has a link on their website to their currently offered deals. Hope that helps!
The agency I went through for my late August trip was able to get me a way better deal than booking directly through Disney!![]()
What company was this?![]()
