Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday! I still owe some pics from our stay- just been so busy at the office since coming back. Funny how the few days before and after a vacation I feel like I work enough to make up for the entire week away!

Just to reiterate for those staying shortly- we had a great time staying in Hawaii and would stay again even with the construction. You'll love the low crowds!

Thanks, you too. Great to hear that, because I just told a friend who said why would you spend all that money to stay on CL with it looking like a war zone. Your likes are not mine and vise versa. So I am looking forward to not so many people at the resort.

Good Friday to you! Look forward to seeing your pictures. :)
Could you recommend which building to request for a late October stay, standard view, and as far away from the construction as possible?

Actually they are trying out being able to book a room with dining with out tickets at the moment. so you could put dinning on either depending on what works best for you.

Has this been extended into 2015? I thought the poster was referring to a trip next spring and I knew room + DDP was an option to the GP through the middle of December this year, but didn't know it had been extended :confused3.

Oh I hope this is true. Would love to add DP to room only reservation. I wonder if I can book this online, or I would have to call to do this?

Very curious, were you successful in booking room + DDP without tickets? :)

Will be staying at the Poly in Nov. so excited!

:dance3:

Thanks for the link, KOOK :).

Thanks for the link, KOOK :).

I haven't tried booking room only with DDP yet because I'm having a heck of a time trying to decide between Beach or Yacht Club. Once I decide I will report back if this option is still available. :thumbsup2

They're coming! I can say that Hawaii (club lvl) was great, while we heard some construction when in the quiet pool so the long houses nearby would likely also. I'm not sure how much this will change with Volcano pool construction starting up... I'm sure as we get a bit closer Tikiman will have the info.

I'm sure you'll have a great stay! The Poly is still a wonderful resort and minus the pool and a little walking- just as good as always (for us). :)

Exactly! I wouldn't hesitate to go back and you'll have a great time in Hawaii :)

DH and I were there the first week in August and had a great time. Construction didn't bother us at all. We felt Disney did a great job masking most of the construction areas. We really enjoyed the quiet pool, too. I'm glad you're still going. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks :). Good luck with your resort decision.

June 6th - 14th we stayed in Tuvalu, room 2404. Our TA specifically booked with the request of getting a room far from construction, and at that point, it was. I don't know what it would be like now.

We did not have a balcony but our room looked out over parts of the beach and the landscaping of the hotel. It was quite pretty. At night we could, if we really listened for it, hear the luau. But it certainly wasn't intrusive.

We were very happy with that room!

Another page 2 rescue!! :upsidedow Coemout and play Poly peeps!! lol..

Hey blue! And poly peeps!!!

Have to say dd and I had a great lunch at Kona on Tuesday. I asked my server if I could get the mini salad they put on the plate with the sticky wings as a side salad and to charge me whatever they wanted, I just love that salads taste.

Not only did that do it but later I noticed I was not charged:goodvibes

We love Kona for lunch. Have to say seeing outside torn up vs June I'm glad to say I'm glad we stayed when we did.

Still smelled great when you walked into lobby and I am glad we got to stop at one of our favs!!!

So I know it took awhile, but better late than never right :woohoo: Here are a bunch of pics I took (mostly of views/construction) from our stay in the Hawaii building a couple weeks back. This will probably be long, but hope you guys enjoy!

The pond to the right by the entrance of the Poly. A nice welcome to the resort :)

Inside of our room - I really like the lighter decor compared to prior years after the refurb

View from our balcony of the quiet pool and grounds. For a standard room, we enjoyed the view.
0

Overhead shot of the Club lounge. We never had any problems with seating or food shortages.
0

3rd floor of Hawaii in the Club lounge. A good place to eat/watch tv/ or look outside as it was almost never taken

The relaxing view of the Poly is one of my favorite things about the resort. If you look to the right, you can see all of the bungalow construction. Nonetheless, the view of the castle is unobstructed :cool1:

Taking a closer look at the bungalows toward the Contemporary

A snack given to us from the Chef. He is awesome and truly cares that the guests are enjoying his food. Another great member of the Hawaii staff.

View of the Grand walking back from the Fitness Center

Great view of the bungalow setup from the boat. This was a nice break from the crowded monorail with a cool breeze on the water!:sail:

Last day of the Volcano pool in all its glory! If only we had the pool available the entire trip it would have been perfect!

The day after. Cones start going up..

Pool is closed signs follow

And again...

Finally, I will fast-forward to Aug 2nd (our last day) where you see the pool is still filled with water and untouched...but of course blocked off. I wish they would have kept it open a bit longer if they weren't going to start on it yet.

Upstairs in the GCH. While the construction took out the middle of the building, the walls with pictures/props were a nice touch

Excellent french press coffee. As a big coffee drinker myself, I highly recommend :surfweb:

No problems with Kona Cafe!

'OHANA is still our fav restaurant on property!
0

Relocated Captain Cook's.

We missed Dole Whip but at least they still had my fav quick service pizza!

Some examples of the great towel animals from our Mousekeeper

One more!

Some pictures used to decorate the walls.

Future Poly! :goodvibes

Outside you can see the Polynesian sign beyond the construction fence. They did a better job with the camouflage fence

I thought it was best to end the pictures with the Water Pageant!
