There's refurbishing going on at the Beach Club- (new carpets, painting, furniture...) Their going floor by floor so not sure how much better this would be.

Any idea when they are supposed to be done with the refurbishing? Wanted to book Poly for November but ended up with Beach Club because of construction, now I'm thinking Yacht Club.

What's that mean exactly? Can I reserve the DVC rooms weeks/months in advance or just before the trip?

I'm hoping this means you will not have to be a DVC member to reserve a room. Just like WL Villas...GF Villas. Anyone can book those if there is room.

For BLT and others I just book online like any other disney resorts.

For VGF I stalked until I found out when they were going to be available online.

I tried online all day and called. Kept getting told n/a. I didn't stop. Finally at 7pm on the day it was supposed to be available the resort showed up to book online. This was the best way since most people didn't know about it I got my dates

Availability can vary but 7 months in advance usually worked for my BLT trips.

Hi everyone!

What kind of shape is the Poly going to be in by 2015? I feel like I've heard different things..it's really open when we could go next year (Feb/May/Sept) But let's say we went in February.. does anyone know if the DVC, lobby, and pool will be done? I don't mind minor construction..but I don't want to go if the lobby is totally torn up! I feel like I heard March for when the pool would be done..

Also, so the new DVC part are bungalows? Does that mean they are ALL over water? Can someone make me not concerned about this? Hahaha, I feel like it's a dumb thing to have a fear of.

Also, one more question! How quickly will those DVC rooms fill up...? We may or may not need a 1 bedroom..if we do, I'll have to stay elsewhere, but I really want to stay at the Poly!!! Any tips to booking??

Someone else posted on my Facebook page that work would start Monday. I have not heard from any of my sources that anything would happen this Monday. It could happen any day but I have not been told any dates.

Thank you Tikiman. I just have 11 more days until our photo shoot at the Poly. I have everything I possibly can crossed in hopes they will hold out until after our trip. I will be checking daily until our day.

Sadly, we give up. We finally made our decision today to cancel our December 2014 week that we'd booked for CL-TPV. With the loss of TPV, the GCH construction, pool closing, blocked walkways, and what appears to be drawn-out construction period, we're just going to let our reservation go. We've spent many wonderful Christmas times at the Poly since 1998, but this is all too discouraging.

I never can decide which view I like better. Cr or Polys!

I think for December I would have done the same.

You will only be a monorail ride away and can come visit at least.

I have stayed at cr-TPV twice and we loved it! You will have a great time!

Noooooooo! Heading there in 10 days. Was so hoping it would be pushed back. If someone is there and can take a pic, I would appreciate it! Maybe it won't look as bad as I have pictured in my mind....I hope!

Someone just posted a pic on Tikiman's facebook page. The walls go from ceiling to railing. (Over looking lobby) For now on end where Tambu lounge is. I assume the whole thing will be done. The shops upstairs are being refurbished now but the restaurants are still open.

Looks like they're going to be starting in Sept sometime- starting on the 5th floor- working they're way down. CL will be moved to a different location.
