Are you in a room facing east or west? I am curious as to the view for rooms facing east as well as the west facing rooms down at the end of Tokelau near the beach. Would LOVE to see some pics....

I'm right next to the long house in construction and I can see over the green fencing. I'm not adept at posting pictures. Sorry. The property is quiet but we haven't returned to our room much except to shower after the princess 1/2.

Not sure if this would be the best place to post this but iam not really getting an answer where I did. I am hoping you Poly fans who know the grounds well would have the answer. Thank you in advance. so here it goes:

We have a 20 minute photo session set up for one of our MK days at the Poly at 8:00 am. We want to break up the session with picks on the beach the part that is not being worked on and also some among the lush foliage of the poly grounds. I know they said they take pics for 20 mintes but I also realize there will be more time involved than that. My question is we also have a ADR for the character breakfast at Ohana's at 9:00 and then after breakfast head to MK for the day. for any one whom has done this photo session before is this possible to do?

is it all due to be complete by Easter 2015, including the pool?

It depends on how long it takes you to look through the photos and select the ones you want. We had a PP session at the beach club a couple of years ago and the actual picture taking part took only about a half an hour or so, but the aftermath took longer than I'd expected...

I just looked up our week at the Poly, last week of August, and there are NO rooms available. Also, none at the Grand Floridian or the Contemporary for the same time. This is strange. That last week in August is usually a low week, because most other schools go back mid-August. It's why we pick that week.

There is availability that week at all other resorts. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with the construction at the Poly or if it is just a glitch, or if that week is just suddenly more popular now.

From what we are hearing, no, the construction and remodeling will still be an issue through the end of 2015. As to the feature pool, it is said to be closing end of July/beg of August for at least 9 months so I would not count on it being finished by Easter 2015. But as with everything construction related at WDW, dates and plans are very fluid. Just keep an eye on the boards here as to the latest construction information and definitely have a Plan B resort.

I have read of many DISers getting huge discounts thru a few popular Disney-specialty travel agencies for the last two weeks of August. It was my understanding that they had large blocks of rooms at the deluxe monorails resorts for this offer.

We are scheduled to go in July and are considering changing resorts.

The Disney Agent I talked to this morning said:

1.) They weren't offering any construction discounts at this time. (I made ressies last summer, before we knew of the construction, and are paying rack rate at this point. Ugh.)

and

2.) She was at the Poly last week and was told by onsite staff that Dole Whips would NOT be coming back to the resort after the CC renovations are complete. I hope this isn't true!

The discounted rooms were available for both the GF & Poly.. But not the CR on the August special(s) They also offered the YC & BC so not just monorail resorts

The Disney site seems to change all the time. I'm surprising our boys with a short stay later this month and I've been checking availability for a garden view CL room for several weeks. I've seen absolutely no availability at Poly, then just standard, then theme park CL, then a combination, the no availability again, etc. I've been checking under rack rate, spring discount and AP discount and it's different all the time. All of a sudden garden view CL was available with the AP discount this morning. (Yay - booked it!) Not sure why the hourly changes in availability, but I'd suggest continuing to check!

Quick question regarding the monorail to Epcot. We usually go to Epcot in the evening, but are planning morning EMH on April 1. Does the monorail to Epcot start running one hour before 9am regular park opening, or one hour before 8am EMH? If it's one hour before regular park opening, do we catch a bus to 8am EMH from the front of Poly?

Since you are staying at the Poly I would walk to the TTC and get on the EPCOT monorail there. It should be running by 7 am, as should the resort loop.

I cant imagine knowingly staying at a Resort under remodel, especially as extensive as Poly is undergoing. I realize there are parts unaffected but IMO more and more will be impacted moving forward. I just wouldn't want a view with green tarps over a construction site or be at the beach with even minor noise from the new bungalow's being built. I'm amazed people guests are willing to spend the money to stay here with all that is or will be going on there.

Even though I know that Disney does hide construction well I too just can't imagine, even with a discount staying there with so much going on. If it was just the GCH, maybe? But the beaches, the pool and so on. I just can't wrap my head around it!

Rest assured, there will be people that will still stay there and that is why Disney won't just close the resort. Seems silly to me

Saw the news that the pool is now rumored to close July 27th. Here's to hoping that gets delayed again until August as we arrive the 27th!

Tikiman's latest update has the pool closing July 27th. The monorail is open now, but it does shut down daily from 11:30AM-7PM Monday-Friday for repairs. I believe the repairs will be completed the end of March.

It did while we were there last week but the walk to the TTC was not that far and the boat shuttles and monorail to Epcot were fine
