Dole Whips are still there! Captain Cook's isn't moving to the temporary location until 3/28, so all is well until then. Enjoy!

Too bad the can't just wait a couple more weeks til after Easter.....

Well, there's never a guarantee that there won't be something to break the spell. Our Poly club level rooms are less than $400 per night. I'll take the club level service, and New Fantasyland complete, over visiting MK with construction going on, any day. The more WDW changes and expands, the more likelihood of encountering construction. I understand not wanting to deal with construction at Poly. But it will be years with no certainty of an unobstructed experience, per se. I'm going to enjoy my TA discount and enjoy having this amazing look at New Fantasyland with CRT and BOG and other ressies made possible by club level service. Nothing can convince me that I didn't get these without concierge.

I decided to withdraw my message. Everybody's bellyaching about construction when there's no guarantee about anything. I understand not wanting to stay where the price is high and construction is guaranteed. I get it. But at the rates being offered, in my case a TA, I'll gladly just take some binoculars to see what's going on. I'm glad New Fantasyland is done! I'd rather see construction at the Poly than New Fantasyland, imho. There's always something going on somewhere. jmho

We're staying deluxe, not CL. Split stay between the YC & Poly in August.

We have both CRT & BOG reservations and a few others that are difficult to get as well - Tomorrowland Terrace Wishes Fireworks Party on our chosen date is one. Concierge/CL had nothing to do with getting them... Did it myself ;)

We are staying at the Poly in mid-May.
I cannot risk the pool will be closed. And I don't want to look at walls around the GCH. I stayed at the Poly the last time they did construction on the GCH and it took away from the experience for me.
I'm going to change to another hotel.

So, what is everyone's thoughts on June 2015...will construction be coming to a close? We will be staying for 13 days (6/19-7/2) and wondering what it will be like (we have never stayed at the Poly before). Thanks for any and all input :)

Don't you get all of them on a disc?

I have done the photo session at BC and it lasted about an hour, we did not go through the photos afterwards we picked up a CD of our pictures the next day

Could that depend on what package you get? I do believe they have an hour session and a 20 minute session. Were they taking pictures the entire hour? I sure hope that is the hour session otherwise it may not work in my plans.

We are staying at the Poly for the first time this year and are super excited. I have been reading all of the info on here and it seems amazing. I can't believe we have waited this many years before booking a stay here!

We are coming up on our trip, April 5th, and watching all the construction videos have me very nervous. We have a 5 month old and I can't see him being able to nap with all that noise. I called yesterday and the CM requested to have a long house farthest from the construction- which I know is just a request. If we get there and it is totally unbearable what are our options? Any?

We are going to the Poly in May over Memorial Day (ugh, crowds) with DD for the first time. Picked Poly because that's where I stayed growing up so excited to take DD there for her first trip!

Wondering if I should change hotels? Really as long as the pool is good we will be fine. Planning on walking around the resort, going over to GF/CR and doing the same. MK one day, Epcot another and then late checkout on Tuesday following Memorial Day. At the same time I don't want to spend a ton to stay in a construction zone...

Question- should I request a certain building? I'd like a balcony but other than that no pref. We didn't pay for an upgraded room but when booking I mentioned that it would be my daughter's first trip and the CM said that was worthy of a celebration, maybe they note that somewhere?

Thanks!

For me, major construction is a deal breaker. You pay a premium to get immersed in a theme and brown walls and construction equipment take away from that. I've been at the Poly when major renovation was going on and by the second day I regretted not accepting their offer to move to another resort when I checked in.

I understand they need to do renovation and I plan to take advantage of the new GCH and pool in the future. But I don't want to pay $700 a night to stay in the hotel while they're building them.

Now, if I was getting a good discount on the room and I was guaranteed the Volcano Pool and GCH would not be torn out when I got there, I would be more willing to accept the intrusion. But not at full or close-to-full rack rates.

We go to the Poly tomorrow. With the discounts and refund we negotiated because of the construction, we are paying about $300 per night, Garden View

Yay!! We leave for the Poly on 97 days and I am SO excited!! How did you negotiate a lower price because of the construction?

We paid around $350/night so I'm pleased with this. Any higher and I would have not been too happy, you bring up a good point with the cost! Sounds like the pool will still be open and GCH will be under construction but that's fine with me. The CM on the phone told me part of the beaches will be under construction but that the rest of the beach would be open. DD is so young still we only are at the pool for an hour or so tops, probably not going to the beach.

Would also love to know about how you negotiated a discount! While I don't mind what we paid it's always nice to pay less!

I'm guessing that trips into the spring and summer will not get this as everyone knows about the construction now and I think prices have been adjusted accordingly (although I'm not 100% positive, just speculation).

We booked last August and then secured passholder pricing in December. In January, we got a letter that informed us of monorail downtime and construction.

I called the resort directly, knowing that the normal reservation people would not know much and got some detail. Then I pointed out that I've paid Poly prices but don't seem to be getting the Poly experience. I asked what they are doing to make up for this.

We were offered $50 per day credit and a room upgrade. We said we didn't want the upgrade, we just wanted a discount. They came back with 25% off.

That's awesome that they were willing to work with you and negotiate a price :wizard: I am hoping by June 2015, construction will almost be over :)

Does Poly share with CR and GF for magical express? Anyone know the order it goes?

Thanks
