anyone know if the water structure is still running or has it been turned off? Sure would like an update periodically about whether it is still there. Still keeping our fingers crossed it will be there mid May.
Do you mean in the GCH? Everything looks the same to me! I'm here now. Edit: didn't see the other responses...sorry!

I thought I had a seen a chart somewhere that had a break down of how long all the transportation options from the Poly to the parks and DTD take. I can no longer seem to find that. Does anyone know anywhere that is listed? Thanks!

I love the Polynesian!! We were going to stay there again this year but changed reservations due to the construction. We were there on 4th of July last year..it was beautiful watching the sunrise there...

Talked to a very nice CM in the lobby who said that the centerpiece fountain in the GCH will be torn down starting right about now. Sad.

Following up on my own post. We stopped for breakfast at Kona on Friday (1/31) and there is no sign of any destruction activity. Either the CM was misinformed or plans have changed again.

Thanks for the update, that's good info.

I have to say I always loved the Poly, when staying there we stayed in Hawaii, ground floor with a castle view. (The perfect room & view in my opinion)

I agree with you -- we had Room 1503 for the 4th of July week and it was the best vacation ever and I strongly believe it was due to our room location and view. There is something magical about beginning and ending the day with that view. I've been on a hunt for recent pictures of the view right now because we have plans to stay there one last time in 2 months during Easter.

Aww... that will be so nice and romantic now with all the DVC buildings there! :crazy2:

That would be beautiful, the only thing that would be missing is the clear blue water! :) Alligators and snakes are known to be in that lake! Yikes! Lol

Checked in this morning and was happy to be told our room was ready.
Had requested Tokelau quiet pool side w/balcony. CM assured me our room was not affected by construction.
We dragged our luggage over to Tokelau in the pouring down rain only to find our room was on construction side of bldg. our view was of a big mud hole with some green barricade material along the entire section with several tractors!

Went back to check-in waited in line again and explained to CM that we really appreciated having a room ready early but that I had paid for a garden view and I explained that we would like to have a room not facing construction. The CM insisted that our room was a garden view room and just flooded from all the rain. I invited him to go back to room with me and see for himself that it was indeed a construction site. I was asked to wait a "moment" while CM disappeared into back room. After at least 10 min. He returned and told me we could have another room in another bldg. but would have to either go and bring our luggage back to be stored until later or wait in room for 20 min until bell services could come and take our luggage. So back we went and brought our luggage back to bell service desk for storage. We then proceeded to MK where by this time had missed 2 of our fast pass + rides I had tried to reschedule but could not find reasonable times.
Came back to resort and stood in line for 3rd time and was given room facing marina in Fiji bldg. not sure if this is an upgrade or not but really prefer Tokelau
It's a longer distance to buses and much longer walk to TTC to get EPCOT monorail. Although the view of the marina is very nice, I am
wishing we had just kept original room and kept curtains shut!

There is no construction in the lobby area and fountain was turned on and beautiful as usual. People were watching movie and fireworks from beach area beside pool.

Excited to see the finished product. I was not a fan of lobby. With all of the construction, I can't imagine staying there with all of the uncertainty.

Anyone stay club level recently? We're staying CL for the first time in May! Really excited!

I'm sure this has already been answered, but forgive me that I couldn't find it!

What is the new time frame for the scheduled closing of the volcano pool.

We are booked at YC August 17-27. Originally thought about booking the Poly but decided against it as we thought the pool was closing in June.

Any chance it would still be open at least part of our trip?

Thanks so much!

August 31st to... ?? If I remember correctly Tikiman thought the original pool refurb would run from January to May (About 4 months) which would have the pool reopening in January 2015 if they're still following the same timeline. (Although they may push it off again).

Also note the quiet pool should still be open.

This is the first time I have heard the end of August, which would be perfect for my trip. I have only heard that it was moved to August, but not when in August. Has the 31st been specifically mentioned?
