This time tomorrow I will be checking in at the Poly! I am so excited! (I think I'm more excited than my kids!)
I received a letter in the mail today. We check in Oct 19th. It says "Sunset Point and a portion of the beach will be unavailable. Rest assured, much of our wonderful white-sand beach will be open and accessible, providing the South Seas ambience and views of the Magic Kingdom Park that makes Disney's Polynesian Resort such an enchanting destination. All of our world class amenities, including our shops, pools, marina, and wonderful dining experiences are also still available for you to enjoy." The letter is signed by the general manager, Norman Noble.

We got this same letter today, too. We're going 11/14 - 11/19. It doesn't sound too bad & I'm still super excited for our 1st Disney trip & can't think of a more magically place to be!![]()
Have them call the resort and talk to Marcello. He heads up concierge and was able to handle a problem for me also on our last trip.Greetings! Aloha! and All that Jazz!
I have a poster on the CL thread who is having a difficult time dealing with the IPO at the POLY, and wants to know who to contact about that. I would assume the GM for the resort would be the one to contact? Does anyone know his/her name and address/email address? Or can anyone help me out on who to contact with IPO issues?
Thanks!
We also received this same letter about Sunset pointe and part of the beach. We aren't going until December 8-15th, so it looks like everything else (restaurants, shops, pool, marina) will be available between now and then!![]()
We check in Oct 6 - no letter. ??

JandLsMom said:Oh, wow. So, they say that it won't be that bad in December. I wonder what they're projecting for just a couple of months later, when we would like to consider going. With plans of renovating SO many of the Poly's major influences of the resort (the volcano pool, the lagoon / beach around Sunset Point, Tahiti / Rapa Nui, AND the GCH), of course it has all of us worried. SURELY they will not work on multiple areas at the same time, right??? I can accept one area under construction for the amount of money that we pay, but that's about it.

It think I would like to request a samoa pool view room. Should I ring now and add it to my reservation or do it with online check-in??
