Opinions needed..... I have a vacation booked already but I am going to change it, Would you spend a little extra to stay at the poly for the full length of yout trip or would u do a split stay (poly also included) for it to be less expensive? Thanks so much :)

Is the daybed more like a futon in that it pulls out? What size is it? Could you attach bed rails to it or just to the queen? And speaking of bed rails, do you request those at check-in? Does someone "install" them for you? :-)

Usually you request bed rails in your reservation so that they make sure they have some available when you arrive. You can ask once you get there but you risk there not being any available. I don’t even remember them installing them for us but it is very easy to do.

Does the barefoot bar at the pool have any food or only drinks??
The Barefoot Bar experimented with a server walking around taking food orders but I have not seen them do that in a few years but it sounds like they are testing it again. I usually just walk over to Captain Cook’s and bring food over to the pool area.
Thanks. I saw that they were going down, but I couldn't find on there if they were actually completed or not.
Thank you!!

Here is the schedule for the longhouse refurbishment. They usually get very close to the expected dates to open but some of the longhouse were about a week late when they opened.
Hawaii Completed
Samoa Completed
Tokelau Completed
Niue Completed
Rarotonga Completed
Aotearoa Completed
Fiji Completed
Tuvalu June 16 – August 2
Tahiti July 14 – September 13
Rapa Nui August 11 – October 4

Question are the doors at the Poly metal? Had a magnet I wanted to put on the door..
I believe they are metal since they are fire doors and while I have seen a few instances of decorations on the doors I don’t believe the deluxe resorts want people decorating their doors. If you do I don’t see anyone making you take it down either.

All this talk of CL makes feel like I'm SO missing out! I'll just have to survive our plain ole standard view room. Good thing it's the Poly so it wouldn't matter to me if I was in a cardboard box on the beach - as long as that box was at the Poly! :rotfl:

My first response is to stay at the Poly the whole time (which isn't too hard of a choice for me as the Poly is our favorite resort ;)). However, my suggestion might change depending on how long the trip is and which other resort is being considered for the split.

Before we started staying CL at the Poly, we stayed many nights over a period of years in their standard view rooms. We had the best vacations being at the Polynesian resort. We didn't even know the Hawaii building existed! We just didn't notice or pay attention to it. After finding out about it and giving it a try, it just draws us. I sometimes wish it were not there to tempt us (unfortunately we are too weak not to give into our temptation). As much as we LOVE it, the Polynesian is a fabulous resort with or without CL. Enjoy your vacation!:goodvibes

I'm in the minority as I would stick with the Poly that first night. Yes, you are paying more for pretty much just getting settled and sleeping, but waking up the next morning and not having to move is worth it for us. With that said, everyone's preference is different and you need to do what works best for you and your family and I'm sure that whichever you choose to do, you will have a great trip

This is what we will be doing. Our flight doesn't get in until 9:30 pm. We thought about staying elsewhere that night, but my DH said he'd rather not have to move. We want to wake up and head to rope drop and not worry about moving. I hope it all works out and we get a decent room. We requested Samoa, third floor balcony. Fingers crossed! We'll be there in 36 days!

:thumbsup2 Mental note - avoid Hawaii longhouse at all costs! :rotfl2:

Thank you so much for this updated list! I really appreciate it. I'm think we're going to request Tokelau 2nd or 3rd floor.

I'm so excited for our first ever Poly stay!! :woohoo:

Anyone know the current price of the smores kits and do they include the sticks?

Marshmallows and sticks are free. The chocolate and cracker is what you have to pay for and I don't remember exactly how much they were.

I love Tokelau for a standard view room. There are some great ground level rooms on the west side (pool side) but many of them on that side will have huge plants just off the patio. For some that might be perfect if they want a private patio but many will feel blocked in with no view. Also the upper floors on the west side are the only standard view rooms on property that can get a sideways glimpse of the castle and fireworks. I know there are a few rooms in Rarotonga that get a peek of fireworks over Hawaii longhouse and the very end of Samoa can look through some trees and see a little fireworks but there are quite a few west side Tokelau rooms that can see the castle and fireworks. The east side of Tokelau is nice and open with great sideways views of the lagoon and Contemporary (not a bad view at all) but west side to me is preferred based on my opinion from staying there and others that report about their visit to me.

Do you happen to know the location of connecting rooms? We are a party of 7 and my requests are:

1. Connecting (not guaranteed since we have 3 that are 18+)
2. Tokelau
3. Samoa

I guess I'm just wondering of all the connecting rooms are in Rapa Nui parking lot side or something in which case I'd rather stay in another building and be as close as we can.

Depends on length of stay and amount saved. I'm splitting this next stay w/ GF because I got a great deal at GF and we're staying 10 nights total. 5 GF/5 Poly. I would have wanted to stay the whole time at Poly, but thought we'd shake things up a little this trip, and the deal was too good for GF not to take advantage. If it were a much shorter stay, I probably wouldn't split it.

I was just looking around online and put in for my dates I have booked and the disney site came back almost 100 dollars less a night than what I booked for??? Anyone. Have an Explanation
