Post #10 notes:

"Club Level guests many also are able to experience the Wildlife Discovery Excursion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom which is available at 10am & 1pm daily for $50 a person. Part of the proceeds go to the Walt Disney World Wildlife Conservation fund. You can have your IPO planner assist you in making these reservations."

My understanding was that these excursions were discontinued about a year ago (I read it in the forums here & saw it on AllEars)...did I get bad info?:confused3

I can't really comment on the walk from Tahiti to the GCH since I haven't stayed in that longhouse, but the Poly isn't a huge resort, so nothing is that far. If you end up in Tuvalu for TPV, don't despair ... we had requested Tahiti our first year and didn't get it. Instead we fell in love with Tuvalu (I posted a few pics of the view on the weekend). It is very close to the GCH & volcano pool. There is a small beach on the GF side that is pretty much deserted and on some nights you can hear the music from the luau (but not loudly inside)

As for Poly must-do's:
- don't miss the EWP & Wishes from the beach (although you will also get to enjoy these from your balcony! :cloud9: )
- bonfire & movie on the beach
- hula lessons
- sea raycer rentals at the marina (if you booked a package you will get a coupon in your document package)
- dole whip from CC's
- a lapu lapu or pina coLAVA from the poolside bar (although the lapu lapu won't be in a pine apple from the Barefoot bar)
- cabana rental if it is in the budget
- take the small launch to/from the MK at least once - it's a very relaxing escape from the crowds and you get to enjoy the views of the lagoon
- just take in and enjoy the Poly atmosphere (get up early and take a stroll around the grounds)

I'm sure I've probably missed something, but that's a good start. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for this, I jotted all of your suggestions down as I read them. This is definitely a great start for my planning. I just didn't want to miss anything while we are there :goodvibes.

Adding to maiapapaya's list:

Torch-lighting ceremony in front of the GCH Tuesday-Saturday evening. Check for the time. It's only about 5 minutes long but definitely worth seeing if you can time being in the area without putting your schedule out too much!

Subbing to this thread.

My DH has surprised me with a resort change from the Yacht Club to the Poly! Couldn't be more thrilled! We will be there in May for our DD's 5th Birthday and I am sure that we will all enjoy the resort. Especially me, as I spent a large chunk of my childhood living on Oahu! Ahhhh...Dole Whips, Polynesian Atmosphere...it will be like "going home"

Can't wait! :cloud9:

Your welcome!

I didn't list the torch lighting because PoohsFan1 had already mentioned it. I would never forget Mr. Yummy! ;)

So we are here and it is wonderful! We were up graded to a Lagoon View room! I am sitting at the desk in room 1502 looking at the castle right now! Amazing!
