Oh, interesting! Thanks for posting!

Has anyone eaten here? I tried the coffee drinks one time and they were so bad that I put the kabosh on going here but I never tried the sushi at night. So any reviews of the Poly's sushi bar?

I've had sushi at Kona Cafe which comes from the sushi bar. I thought it was rather good (and I eat a lot of sushi). :rolleyes1

Love live updates! Thank you! And if you get a chance, will you let us know what time your flight arrived and what time you arrived at the Poly? Just curious on your timing :)

Our plane arrived around 5:15 pm. We were the last off the plane due to waiting on a wheelchair. We took a short bathroom break and retrieved our luggage. We went directly to DME and waited about 15 minutes. We arrived at about 6:45 at the Poly. We were in the room by 7:00.

Thanks for letting us know the timing. We arrive at 10:04 AM and were debating on grabbing food at the airport or trying to hold out for lunch at the Poly. It seems like if we do end up on DME we'd make it by 11:30... still debating on a car though. :thumbsup2

Thanks for that info!

And thanks for the sushi reviews to those that responded!

Just paid off my trip a few minutes ago and I had to tell somebody:banana::cool1: This will be our second stay at the Poly:woohoo: The end of August is taking FOREVER to get here ...I can't wait!!! I do have a question though. I know it probably belongs on the transprtation board but I love you guys:love: We have kids 10-6-2 and are flying southwest 8-20 returning 8-28. Do you guys think early bird check in is worth it?

congrats!! :cheer2: DH and I are going a couple weeks after you - without the kids :lovestruc:lovestruc After a couple trips in a row doing so, we haven't stayed at the Poly in about 5 years so are very much looking forward to it!

as to your question... Do you have a Blackberry/iphone/something that you can use to check in at the 24 hour mark - or a reliable friend/family member that will be home and can do it for you? If so, then I would not do the early check-in. Also, if your check-in time is at a time you'd be at the resort, you can do it there (we've done this before in the lobby). I would also mention that with a 2-year old you can typically board your family at family boarding time between "A" and "B" groups - however, although it never happened to us when our kids were younger, I have heard some say that they skip this when there is a flight full of families with little ones.

Thanks!!! I do have an Iphone:yay: Didn't think of using it that way!! You are AAAWWWEEEESOOOMMMEEE!!! My return flight is at 6:30 pm so I would probably be at the parks at the 24 hour mark.

When we flew home from MCO this past April, they did not do the family boarding, probably due to soooo many families on that flight.

To the original question...... I would suggest paying for the early bird check in for the flight out of MCO. That way you don't have to worry about being near a PC to check in. However..... on one flight I just called the Southwest reservation number at the 24 hour mark, and they checked me in. I printed my boarding pass when I got to the airport. I have only tried that once, so I don't know if it is standard for them to do that.

We've flown Southwest several times and have always been able to get A boarding passes ... until this last time on the return flight .... I was three minutes pass the 24 hour mark and got B boarding passes.

However, even though it was a FULL flight we had no problem getting seats together ... we were just in the back of the plane ....

also... as others have said, usually families with children under 4 get to board right after the A boarding passes.

If you have a iPhone (or similar) you can check in online wherever you may be. I've been in line for ToyStory 3 and checking in at the same time ... lol

How much is it normally to upgrade to CL? IS it worth the $? What perks are there?

Check out this CL thread....

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2280631

We loved CL, but you will find tons who think it's not worth it. Guess it depends on what you believe to be worth the extra bucks. If you like convenience, turn down service, adult bevs, IPOs, etc....then it might be for you. The CL thread really helped us make up our minds on our previous Poly visit. Can you get the 40% off discount?? That would be totally worth it!!

Happy Planning!

I am thinking of trying to change from BWI CL to Poly CL and have a question

When we visited the Poly in March my girls loved hanging out on the beach sitting in the hammocks and watching the boat come in.

Does anyone know what type of room I should book to try and get a ground floor room close to the dock.
I would like to still be CL if possible is that lagoon view or theme park view?

I see hstrickland gave you the link for the CL thread... for us we chose CL because we have 3 young kids and we'll be back at the resort every night before the fireworks for bedtime. One of our kids is ADHD and if not kept to his schedule EVERYONE will pay the next day  . Anyhow we figure this way we can do our bedtime routines, pop into the lounge to watch fireworks and then right into bed w/out much disruption and they will still get to enjoy the magic and we'll get to enjoy the comfort of the extra space vs all watching from a balcony. We're hoping to also take advantage of the breakfast offerings, the rest of it will be nice but not our big draw. We're viewing the lounge as a little extra "space" to our room when we need to spread out but be close to "home".

Their Club Level rooms are located in the Hawaii Longhouse and it's close to the boat dock. You can also make a reservation for a Club Level - Theme Park View which they recently added a few months ago and when it comes to getting a ground floor room, well all you can do is request that and see what happens.

Good morning, Poly friends. I had to move us up from page 2. Three weeks from today I will be checking in to the Polynesian and heading to the MK.:goodvibes

Has anyone on the Poly thread been to the WWoHP? We will be going on August 5th and I keep changing my plan of attack. We'll be at the Doubletree DTD so no early entry for us. But I think we'll go early and just wait in line if we have to. I really don't want to wait until 3pm to go in.

I was so happy to get my hoppers in the mail yesterday (for our November trip) and even happier when I read that ticket prices may go up again next month.

If your trip is later in the year, you might want to get your tickets ASAP.
