This post is for the obsessive compulsives among us. My wife is a biologist, and I'm a chemist. We sometimes trend towards that direction.
According to the CDC, water temperatures above 84-degrees F reduce the disinfectant properties of chlorine.
A review of 5,000 public hot tubs by the CDC showed 60% to be neglected and capable of making people sick.
I'm reminded of the elephant in Tarzan saying "is this water sanitary?"
Of course sometimes in life you just have to not think about it.

. It was SOOOO disgusting. It was completely as a result of an unclean hot tub (and this coming from someone who was a nut about keeping the hot tub clean!).

Not all longhouses have the sitting area outside the elevator - the ones with a sitting area are: Tokelau, Tahiti and Rapa Nui. The sitting area can be quite far from the room though, but you could request a room very close to the elevator in one of those longhouses, then you'd be able to see the door to your room.
