So I had to switch our dates.:headache: My DH has to cover his boss while she is off on maternity leave in September. I moved us to Oct 29-Nov 5. It is only a month further away, but in vacation time, that feels like eternity! I guess I should just be thankful we even get to go and that he has a good job and that he was picked to cover his boss.:thumbsup2
Anyways, I just had to vent. Thanks for listening!:goodvibes
I am off to replan our trip!:wizard:

ps- anyone have any experience with these dates and crowds?

Tess, I can't even begin to imagine the stress of not knowing! The news today did not sound hopeful, but will keep fingers crossed and sending lots of dust for you!

Keep us posted, if possible.:goodvibes

I'll be here until at least tomorrow evening--then who knows! :confused3 What I do know for certain is I will be at the Polynesian early on Saturday! :yay::woohoo:

Sorry about having to switch. I have been there myself :sad2:

We were there at the sime time last year and I really enjoyed it. The crowds were minimal and although the weather was hotter than usual that late in the year some days, some days were just perfect :thumbsup2

Halloween was fun too! We trick or treated around the Poly and went to a party on the beach and watch a movie.. It was a fun time.

Happy planning :wizard:

Was this from the grounds of the Poly? I didn't think the castle would look so big :thumbsup2

It was from the Lounge in Hawaii. It was at 5x zoom and I was about 10 ft behind the couple enjoying thier Ahiahi (evening service).

I'm still sitting here :confused3 and twiddling my thumbs--maybe we're driving tomorrow night, maybe we're flying Saturday. . .this is stressful AND it is denying me of the pleasure of anticipation. :headache:

Here's a few pics from our Memorial Day weekend stay. We were in room 1018 in Tahiti. Fell in love with the Poly-can't wait to go back!!!

Thank goodness you have a car!! There has to be some good news in such a crummy situation.:thumbsup2

DisneyBarlans - those pictures are fantastic!!! Wow, they are really helping me get excited for my August trip (less than 50 days now.......).

That stinks! How much a drive do you have? :wizard: Here's to finding out--soon!

DisneyBarlans ~ thanks for the great pics! Can never see enough while waiting for a stay at the Poly!

Between 18 and 20 hours--hence our desire to leave Thursday night. It would get us there late in the afternoon Friday prior to our Saturday check-in. Even if we waited until 4 or 5 a.m. Friday, there is no guarantee we would know about Saturday's flights yet.

I'm beginning to think that we're hogtied and will have to decide whether we are willing to lose our $$$ and drive. It sure would stink to be on the road and find out the strike settled and not only did we lose our $$$ but we also had the hassle of driving. Talk about a double burn. . .

Beautiful pics!

I haven't been on the dis in ages, mostly because our trip for this year was up in the air for so long. I think we're back on, but we'll only have three days at the Poly and it will probably be just me with my daughters. We're doing a split stay at AKL and the consensus was to spend the bulk of the trip at AKL. I've told the girls that they must get along for the next three months if they have even a hope at staying extra days at WDW.
