Happy Mother's Day everyone!!!!
Not beating a dead horse. Just having a discussion on the topic and people offering what they know about a topic. Which in this case deals with water at a resort which happens to include the Poly in this case.
The speculaton and judgement depends on what a person knows and/or believes. So view points may differ.
I enjoy reading and participating in the Poly thread because everyone here is friendly and will allow one to state their opinion and not be judged.
Now if December would just get here, so we can go to the Poly! I love the summer but this year I am so looking forward to our trip.
Hello all. Haven't been around the Poly thread in a long time. We decided to mix things up and stayed at the YC a few weeks ago. While it was a lovely resort with top notch accomodations, service, and amenities....I missed the Poly![]()
I missed the beautiful lush tropical grounds with tiki lit walkways. I missed the smell of smoke coming from Ohana. I missed the sounds of the Luau and guests passing by in flower leis excited to get to their room. I missed tonga toast for breakfast and aloha pork sandwiches and poly chips for lunch. I missed gazing over the lagoon at Cinderella's castle and hearing the train whistles and ferry boat horns. I missed the extra large rooms with warm Polynesian decor including the cushioned chairs and ottoman. I missed sipping Pina Colavas on the beach while watching the girls build sand castles and relaxing in the hammock.I missed the monorail and the boat rides. I missed watching the fireworks and EWP from my balcony or beachside. (Big sigh...) While YC was lovely and I don't have any real negatives to say about it(other than the lack of good quick service at the resort)...it just wasn't the Poly.
We won't be back to Disney next year as we are taking a year off for a beach or mountains vacay, I am already dreaming of a Poly stay in 2012I know some people on these boards think us diehard Poly fans are nuts, so be it. Less competition for my table at the pool and my hammock near the pool bar
Thanks for letting me share. I feel better now that I have confessed my feelings![]()
I just wanted to take a little informal poll (but I don't know how to do a poll) to find out what the avg. room ready time is at the Poly. I have heard everything from 11AM to 5PM. I know check-in is at 3 but we will be arriving around 11 (from POR) and plan to eat at CC then go to Epcot. Just curious if our room will be ready before we go to Epcot at around 1?
So for my informal "poll" just let me know about your last trip(s) to the Poly:
what time you arrived?
what kind of room you booked/requested?
what time it was ready?
And I DO realize that the results will most likely have no predictive validity as to when my room will be ready, but I am just curious! If you would be willing to humor me, I will appreciate it!

Great idea...can I also add to that? Can ppl also state if they were staying CL or not and how that also affected wait times for rooms to be ready?

THANK YOU so much for your post! While we have never stayed at the Poly, it is my favorite resort to visit and I cannot WAIT until next Saturday when we arrive to the Poly. Reading your message was very reassuring since my hubbie was whining a "little" the other night about not staying at the Beach Club. We stayed there last year and even though I loved it, I begged for the Poly this year.I know I will love staying at the Poly and after reading your post, I am SURE he will too!

Just returned from my first ever Poly stay last week and we LOVED it! I have to say, the weather was sooooo steamy and this was the perfect resort for that kind of weather. I arrived at about 11am, had requested a TPV, and my room wasn't ready, but the nice CM found me a room in the same building as my sis and bil. It turned out to be in Areotoa (sp? I can't say it either.) I was a bit disappointed till I got to the room (3218.) LOVED THIS PLACE! Sis and bil were on the second floor facing the monorail and they loved their room as well.
The friendliness of the CMs, the lovely grounds, the delicious cocktails and food at Tambu Lounge and Kona, watching Wishes from the beach...it was fantastic.
