I have to share my excitement somwhere! :yay:

They just announced the Eat to the Beat line up and Rick Springfield is scheduled to be performing while we are there :banana::banana:

I know I am so square but I used to LOVE  him in my tween years! I saw him on Oprah and he hosts a cruise every year for all his fans and I joke all the time that I am going to go on it one of these days!

I know from past years the schedule changes a bit so I am hoping this does not!

Since he will be there the day we arrive we will go take our traditional walk down Main Street and see a few things at the MK and then hightail it over to EPCOT for some Jessie's Girl! :dance3:

Ok...back to Poly talk...I just had to tell someone!!:goodvibes

OMG - I used to love Rick Springfield! I saw him at the Toronto CNE when I was, ahem, younger ... lucky, lucky girl!

I haven't read all the pages so I'm sorry if this has been answered but does anyone know if they have vests for toddlers to use at the kiddie pool? My DS will be 27 mos when we go (he weighs 22 lbs now so I don't expect him to be heavier than 26 or 27 lbs by the time we go) He doesn't put on weight like his mother :lmao: This is our first time staying and I'm so excited but nervous. Never traveled with a toddler before.

Well, there's not really a kiddie pool. There's a kiddie water spray area, and then the main (Volcano) pool is zero entry, so that shallow area is great for toddlers. But, yes, there are vests available in various sizes - all for free, all at the Marina, and you can get them for the length of your stay.

Hi - I don't think this was ever answered, but if someone could chime in, that would be great. What is the approximate cost of a cab from Poly to DTD and then back? We'd be 2 adults and a toddler heading out late afternoon for dinner and shopping. Would we have to supply a car seat? Did you find it difficult to get a cab from Poly at that time of day? I know they're pretty much everywhere after dark at DTD. TIA!

If this has already been asked answered and discussed, please accept my appology in advance.

On the Disunplugged blog I read a readers comment stating that they were or were about to commence work on the Hawaii building.

Has anyone else heard this? Do we know what kind of work will be done? or how long it will last?

Thanks!

signed.... trying not be nervous about my first CL stay.......:scared1:

The work that caused the Hawaii building to be closed for a day is now done and the building is back open for guests. They MAY still be doing some work around the resort but it should not effect your stay at all :goodvibes

Don't be nervous about a club level stay at the Poly. You are going to love :love:it. Just go and enjoy yourself :wizard:

BreezysMom - thanks for such a quick and reassuring answer!

Few!!!

Any word on what kind of work was being done.... maybe some pictures too?

Last summer I was at the GF when all the work was being done... it was horrible... so I guess I am a bit more hand shy now!

Yes, but there's no need to. When you check in CL, a CM escorts you to your room and sets you up.

the reason i ask is there is a promotion going on where you can get a 25 dollar gift card for using online check in... not sure how long it is going to be offered... but i though - hey, why not!

Does the resort monorail loop run in both directions? In other words, from the POLY to the TTC, do you have to go "around the block" or can you go directly to the TTC?

Or, conversely, if we went to breakfast at the Floridian, can we return directly to the POLY without stopping at MK, Contemporary, and TTC first?

Resort monorail runs clockwise. TTC > Poly > GF > MK > Contemp > TTC

Express monorail runs counter-clockwise MK > (skip GF and Poly) > TTC > (skip Contemp) > MK

Easiest way to get from the Poly to the TTC is to walk. It'll take you MAYBE 6 minutes. Easiest way to get from the GF to the Poly is by boat.

No and no. The resort monorail only goes TTC>Polynesian>GF>MK>CR>TTC.

However, it is much faster to just walk to the TTC. Returning to the Polynesian from the GF, you can take the monorail all the way around, take the small launch from the GF directly to the Polynesian or just walk. We almost always walk. It's lovely and takes about 10 minutes.

edited to add that I see SyracuseWolvrine beat me to it!

The one I read is a $5 gift card for using on line check-in then if you add $100 to the gift with certain time frame you receive a $20 gift card.:thumbsup2

Is this something that you can see when you go into the online check-in site? Or something you got an offer for? My parents are going next week & weren't planning on doing on-line check in, but I can let them know to do it if it's available. TIA.

It is $5, not $25 - if you add $100 to the gift card, you then receive a $20 gift card, which adds up to $25. It is not $25 for doing on line check-in.:thumbsup2

While I enjoy reading through and planning for our upcoming Nov/Dec trip, I am getting jealous for everyone is going so soon. I'm just getting excited for ADRs!

hello everyone!

I keep trying to get caught up on this thread so I can post about our upcoming trip, but you are such prolific posters!

We're leaving in 20 days for our first stay at the Poly - we're so excited!!! We usually stay at WL but we visited the Poly a few times on our last trip and so we went for it.

Very excited but I'm not psyched up for our trip yet - I've been too busy to read the disboards enough! Hopefully I can stay caught up on this thread until our departure date.

Thanks!!!
