ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Fall 2010 Edition

I didn't get a chance to read through all of the other pages so I don't know if it has been reported or not, but on August 19th or 20th there was a survey crew making measurements around the quiet pool. I asked them if they knew what the plans were for the pool. They said that their job was just to take measurements so that the management could figure out what they could do.:)

From what I understand this could probably have to do with a "Zero-Entry" area at the East Pool. It's scheduled, I believe, for early next year.

Is it confirmed that they are converting the quiet pool to a zero entry? I like the fact that it's not. Why would they be undertaking this? None of the quiet pools at the other resorts have a zero entry, do they?

Zero entry would be nice... but given a choice I'd take a hot tub addition instead.

Captain Cook's also has a soup of the day. More often than not, it's a vegetarian soup. They have an awesome vegetarian chili and it's only a snack credit of you are on the DDP!

Thanks for that tidbit. i've been wondering what I could use snack credits for at Captain Cook's.:thumbsup2

Just paid our balance today for trip Oct 20-26. Wa-hoo!

This will be our second Dis trip, our first (and probably only) deluxe stay. We requested "third floor, Tokelau". We'll see what happens!

So excited!

Aloha! Just wanted to say thank you to everyone on this thread for all the great information I have read here. Just posted a review under the resorts thread but wanted to say thank you here too. Couldn't have had a better time at the Polynesian - we were there from 8/14 to 8/17 and it was wonderful! I am now officially addicted to the Polynesian and can't wait to be back there!!! Please let me know if you have any questions I can help you with.

Just completed online checkin... sept 6, here we come!! Now, my only question...how to keep 11 people happy and getting along?
Holly:yay:

What a way to start my Sunday! I felt like I was there watching those Polynesian youtube videos! :) I'll be at my 3 month mark tomorrow. Can't wait to be returning!!!!

Booked next year's trip and guess where I'm finally staying??? Yep, the Poly!!! It'll be me, DH, DD 10, and DS 5 August 20 - 27, 2011 with free dining. Just wanted to say thanks for all the posts, pictures, and advice on this thread and former Poly threads that helped me fall in love with this resort!!! Look forward to chatting with you guys over the next year...

Anyone know if you can get the disney dooneys at the Poly? DO you think they are the same price as the parks or more expensive? Looking for teh colored sketch wristlets..

We are finally here!! Checked in yesterday to CL and it was great. Our room wasn't ready (they had one on 2nd floor but we wanted to wait for 1st or 3rd) so we chilled in the lounge. Then the concierge came upstairs and said - "do you feel that on your shoulders? It's pixie dust" and sent us to our room. 3515 - a beautiful theme park view upgrade from our garden view room!! We ate at Ohana's and then watched Wishes from our balcony.

Have to say that I didn't think the extra money was worth it for the TPV but I might never want to watch the fireworks from the park again! MAGIC!!

If anyone has any questions I will try to find out answers. We are here for a week! Everyone on this board is so friendly and helpful when we were planning!
Aloha!
