Aloha Breakfast at PCH Grill with Lilo & Stitch to Be Replaced 12/11/2009

This has always been my family's favorite character meal. I will be very curious to see what they do with it and hope that it will end up being even better than it already was!

I agree with Sherry. I think this is a brilliant idea. I never had much of a desire to go to the Aloha breakfast, but with Mickey being there now, I will make a point to go!

I called yesterday and the CM who made my PS had very little info except for confirming that Mickey will be there with 4 support characters.

Since we will be making a pre-Christmas trip and went ahead and booked it as I figured that we can always cancel if the initial reviews are bad. Hopefully some other Disers will have reviewed it first, but if not I will have a review after Dec. 20th.

Another thought on this change is the big renovation of DCA.....Paradise Pier with the Mickey on the Sun Wheel fits into Paradise Pier Hotel having a Mickey meal there...... just a thought that came to me in the middle of the night.

I missed the Captain Mickey & Friends meal they used to hold at Ariel's Grotto Restaurant......that was really a fun meal!!

Does anyone else remember when PP had a "back" entrance into DCA? That was awesome. I think that is what they need to put back in after the rehab, to really boost PP in popularity.

Yay for my wonderful husband! We are making a trip to LA this coming weekend to attend the Imagination Movers concert (Disney's version of the Wiggles), and my DH surprised me tonight with the fact that he changed our travel plans to include spending Friday night in Anaheim and going to the Lilo & Stitch breakfast before we head up to LA for the concert Saturday afternoon. So, I will get to attend this breakfast one last time and I'll get to go to the AP shopping event earlier that day too. I am one very happy camper at the moment!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

 We'll be there Friday! I'm happy we'll be able to eat there one last time!

Oh and btw I just :lovestruc the Imagination Movers. :rotfl:

Im bummed by this news. I need to make some time and get over there before the change.

I agree with this.

R.I.P. Aloha Breakfast at PCH Grill with Lilo & Stitch........popcorn::

Tell me about it! I honestly have a little bit of a crush on all 4 of them:love:

But, truth be told, it's my husband who really, really likes the Movers. He was so bummed that Vegas wasn't on the initial tour list that he planned this whole trip. I think that he is even more excited for the show than our 2 year old is going to be. They watch the show together and pull out the toy guitars and drums and play along.

We are in the second row, so tell me which one is your fave and I'll blow them a kiss for you! :rotfl2:

I watch it every morning when I get ready. That is so awesome your DH watches it with your son! Aww! I really hope you guys have a great time.

I just loveeee Mover Rich! *sigh* :lovestruc

So are they going to close down PCH Grill to get rid of all the Lilo and Stitch stuff up? Not that there's much, actually...

Oh wow! I must be really out of the loop. When did they eliminate the PPH entrance to DCA (the path that ran next to GC)? Did it have to go when they remodeled GC? We stayed at the GC in 2008 and LOVED their entrance setup, but haven't stayed at PPH for probably 6 years or so.

I am with you, they need to find a way to get that back (even if it meants figuring out a way to let them use the GC entrance) because IMO one of the key reasons to pick PPH was the special entrance

I loved it too....they closed it for security reasons after 9/11. I really think putting it back in will make the PP very attractive, especially if they keep the price point the same.

This is one of my kids favorite character meals. But it is time for a change. Everytime we go the place is empty. I am not complaining since my kids get a lot of interaction but the less money things make the more likely they are to go away! I am just glad they are replacing it with another character meal and not taking the entire thing out all together.

I had ALWAYS wanted to go to this breakfast and my kids REALLY enjoyed it when we went in October. I am SO glad that we took the time to go because now we may never have gotten the chance. Don't get me wrong we love Mickey but we see him all the time in the parks. I like having a chance to see DIFFERENT characters. I really liked all the neat stuff too with the hula and everything. It reminded me a bit of ohana at Polynesian in DW. I will truly miss it!

I don't know...it's still called "Surfs Up..." so I would expect it to retain much of the same flavor, maybe just not featuring Lilo and Stitch. 'Cause I have to say, this is one Disney movie I've just never had an interest in seeing. And, Stitch? He's scary looking with all those teeth! :stitch: :goodvibes

I e-mailed Vacation Planners and asked for a PS for Sunday, December 13th. IF we can get one now that there's probably a new fascination with the breakfast, I'll report back!

On behalf of my puppy Stitch, he is sad that Mickey is taking his breakfast away. But Mickey is giving him the paychecks, so he says it's ok. ;) :stitch:

According to my friend who used to work @ the Aloha Breakfast, Stitch will still be there (I'm guessing w/ Lilo too), it's just that Mickey is hosting the breakfast. But when you think about it, it's about time Mickey has his own character dining since he isn't @ any of them!

:thumbsup2 Awesome!

I think it's a smart move by Disney to make Mickey a host character at a character meal. Just because Mickey is now the host doesn't mean that Stitch, who will still fit very nicely with the theme, need not go to yesterland.

Yay! Mickey *and* Stitch! Now I'm wanting to make a PS for the last day of our holiday trip (the 11th) :mickeyjum :stitch:
