Teacup 315 is not correct. I know because we had a room on the third floor of waht was probably the worst building location at POR. It was a LONG hinke to get ANYWHERE. We weren't close to the main pool, the dining, the main bus stop. Even the closest secondary bus stop was a hike (It was actually faster for us to go to the main bus stop, esp. since that's the first drop. At the end of the day, we had to climb three flights of stairs!
If I ever stay there again, I'd request the Magnolia side, and probably a first floor room as well. Yes, the building location makes a big difference. I like being able to walk the grounds a little, but I don't want to HAVE to do it all the time.
The first morning we got up nice and early to get breakfast. My aim was to be at the gate by 9 - 9:15. We were a little slow finishing breakfast, but still okay to make the main bus stop.
Then DFIL wanted to go back to the room to "drop off his mug, and grab a few things."
I tried hard to hide my concern, and not be the drill seargent, but I was right....we waited at our nearest secondary bus stop, and didn't get to the park until almost 11am! By then the crowds were in full swing. EE had just opened and AK was the most crowded I have ever seen it to date! DH said on the bus, "Oh, we've got plenty of time here," etc.
Later that night it was, "You were right. Tomorrow we'll think more stategically."
