Anyone still with me?? I'll finish these darn reports if it kills me!!

Tuesday July 1st. No-one is overwhelmed with the idea of one of my home cooked breakfasts again, so we nip over the Golden Corral at Lake Buena Vista (this only takes a few minutes via DHs shortcut......he told me to write that ). Its packed to the rafters with tourists (nothing worse, than tourists when you are on vacation is there? ). Undeterred, we get a seat and DH rejoices when I finally remember to redeem a coupon from one of the many thousands of coupon books I insist on picking up. Mum is automatically charged as a "Senior", so we tell her we will book her in for a perm and blue rinse when we get home!!

There is plenty of choice and we dont really need a server as even the drinks are on the buffet! Im not a big fan of these places, but everyone else seems to like it. DS tries one bite of just about everything....JUST one bite, then chucks whatevers left on the floor.....the area under his highchair looked like something even Cinderella wouldnt be able to scrub clean after he had finished. I did make an attempt to clean up, but it was a lost cause. I left the server a large tip as they probably needed an industrial vacuum when we left.

We then head over to the Belz factory outlets on I-drive....we do briefly consider Sea World today, but the Fourth of July crowds are here in force and we decide not to bother, as we see the car park is nearly full (its 10am). The naughty Fairy takes me over for a second as I tell DD that Sea World isnt open again today. She isnt that bothered, and just gives me a wry smile as Kraken thunders past our heads as we drive out .

Belz is pretty busy today as well. There is a bright yellow Hummer parked in the lot and its causing quite a stir!! Loads of people are having their photo taken next to it......the owner was nowhere to be seen!

DD rides the carousel and as its quiet, gets to ride a few times for free. I take the opportunity to leave DH with her, and slope off to the Character Warehouse (Disney Outlet) for some sneaky shopping. After deciding the 3 snowglobes I had picked out would incur Excess Baggage that may give even Bill Gates pause for thought, I decide on some smaller, more manageable bits. When DH catches up with me, I have just a few deceptively small bags. He manages to find a cool leather camcorder bag, with teeny tiny Mickeys embossed into the leather......a steal at $10! DD chooses some Mickey cookies to take back to her pre-school and I get DS a neat Buzz sweater. We also bump into one of the families we met on the illuminations cruise.

I am now in full "Shop" mode, so a trip to the Wal-Mart is required to pick up some more essentials. En route, DD decides she is hungry, so we pull into the Wendys that is on the same lot as the Sandlake Rd Wal-Mart. We get Drive-Thru to save getting the kidlets out of their seats. Food duly picked up, DH pulls the car into an empty space.......as he does so a car parked two spaces up reverses out and THWACK.....smashes into the side of our car. It sounded like our car had been squished to pieces, but on examination, we hardly had a scratch. The other guys Honda was a bit more worse for wear though. Turns out he was the manager of the Wendys and he is extremely apologetic (so he should be!!).

Fortunately, I always keep the Dollar rental stuff on me, and we read that we HAD to call the police for an incident number and then take the car back to Dollar to sign. Mr Wendys "cant drive for toffee" manager, calls up the cops who arent in the least bit interested, but helpfully give us an impressively long number (probably just made up ). Wendys man writes down all his details and we decide to go to Dollar immediately, in case we need to do anything else. I think DH was thinking "compensation" as kept rubbing his back whilst talking to Mr Wendys!!!

We remember there is a Dollar desk at the Holiday Inn on I-Drive (having stayed there a few years ago) and decide this is a better option that going to the airport. A good move, as its all sorted in 15 mins (they take a polaroid of the damage, and as we have fully topped up insurance, nothing more is needed). We breathe a sigh of relief and head back to the Wal-Mart!! DH is incredulous that I manage to spend more $$$ in the Holiday Inn gift shop.....well they had a cute Peter Pan plush toy that I hadnt seen before. He swears I would find a Disney Store in Baghdad if given the chance!!

He gets revenge in the Wal-Mart and buys some boring "gadgets" and boys toys......how many kites/balls/mysterious flying objects do one small family need???

Back to the villa by 6.30pm. DH says he is stressed (and duly demonstrates this with his new digital blood pressure monitor, recently procured from the Wal-mart). This is all a cunning ploy to go out and get smashed on Mudslide cocktails, I think!! Mum is convinced to spend the evening watching "When Animals Attack 3" and then "Storm Alert" on the Weather Channel. I make a note to be home by 10pm for Law and Order.

DH and I decide on the Outback Steakhouse (which is kind of tragic as we have one about 1/2 a mile from our house at home!!). The one at the 192 is PACKED so we head over to the Lake Buena Vista Outback instead. Food is delish as always (even tho the menu is almost identical to our local one!). One thing thats different is the price.....its about $20 cheaper for our meal here than at home. Back to the villa at 10.30.....too tired to stay up for Law & Order!!

Tomorrow: 1900 Park Fare, Magic Kingdom, 'Ohana.
