Allegiant Air Seating

Can anyone tell me if I must pay the extra 10 dollars per person to choose seating?? Will they try to seat families together even if you do not pay the extra fee?? That would be an extra 100 dollars for my family and I will do it but I really do not want to!!

You have the option to pay the $10 per flight segment to choose your seating in advance. So for each ticket it would cost you $20 ($10 to Orlando and $10 home). The other option is to get your seat assignments when you arrive at the airport.

My mom and step-dad flew to Vegas on them and could not sit together on the flight down (they did not pay extra for advanced seat assignment). On the way home they did get to sit together.

I guess I would figure in the cost of advanced seating when I made my decision to fly Allegiant. If sitting together is a must, then I would consider paying the fee.

I chose to go ahead and get our seats ahead of time. It was worth it to me to know for sure where we would be sitting and to get seats at the front of the plane.


You can wait until you get to the airport and they would try and get you together. It looks like you will be flying out of Des Moines so if you go this route, make sure you get there really early to improve your seat assignment. We got there 2 hours early in December and were shocked at how long the line already was and how slowly it moved. I was glad we already had our seat assignment at that point.

I suspect a lot of families would feel as you do, that you want to be sure you're sitting together, so that means trying to get a family together on the day of the flight might be even more difficult that otherwise.
