They are new to our airport, Knoxville, would like opinions on them, good or bad. We are thinking off using them for our May trip. I know the fly into Sanford and we would have to pay for rental or service. TIA

My aunt has flown with them numerious times out of Lansing-Capitol City to Sanford. She can't beat there fares, and she said for a low cost carrier, they are very good. I will be flying them in April from Lansing to St Petersburg for a week at Disney, so we will see about my initial impressions...

Do they have a set rate or does the ticket price fluctuate like the bigger carriers. I've been watching their prices for about 3 weeks and nothing is changing. Mid America St. Louis to Sanford. Does anyone have a promotional code?

I have been told by previous passengers that the Allegiant rate will go up more than it will go down. The rate is pretty much the bottom rate they can offer,

We flew Allegiant from Portsmouth, NH to Sanford-Orlando in June. The plane was delayed both ways, but for the price, I didn't mind waiting too much. :) They have food and drink for sale on the plane-$2 for a can of soda. At the time, we brought our own drinks and snacks, but with the newer regulations about liquids on board, I don't know if this is allowed anymore.

We flew Allegiant on our last trip a couple of weeks ago. The flight was good and we had no problems. We paid $69 each way but they also want $11 per way to book your actual seat. We declined to pay an additional $22 per ticket to reserve our seats and had no problems sitting together (there were 7 of us). There was also an additional fee of $5 per ticket because I booked on the internet. If I had gone to the airport I would have saved the $5 per ticket. I believe they also charge more if you book on the internet. They are a "no frills" airline. You dont get any snacks or drinks unless you pay extra for them. You can bring your own snacks and purchase drinks after the scanning (metal) detectors to carry on. We had to throw ours away because at our home airport (very small) there was a snack bar before the metal detectors and not after. The Sanford airport was great- also a smaller airport- and the ride to the Disney Property took us an hour (that was at 9pm) and I would say it may be longer during the daytime traffic. We hired a car service to take us to the WL for $180 round trip. The best price I could find. Had great service. The rental for a van for a week was much more and since we didnt have to go off property we didnt need a rental. I would do it again for the price, but if I get a good ding on SW I would prefer that because of Disney's Magical Express which picks you up from the airport (MCO) for free.

I guess it depends on the airport, but I've found that prices are lower when you check on weekends (not that you fly on a weekend), but that for some reason their rates are lower when I log in on say a Saturday and check for a fare. That's just been my personal experience, but it's worked 3times.

Also, unless you know your route to be full, I would advise against the $11 per person charge to select your seats. I haven't known anyone who has had a problem with sitting together; not to say it wouldn't be a problem if the flight were full but I don't think it's worth the money for say, 4 tickets roundtrip...that's $88.

Also, I have found that when they first release the schedule the tickets are not necessarily at their lowest point. It's best for you to research other days/times and see what they are 30 days out, 60 days out, etc. For instance, my route from FAY to SFB can be as low as $29 each way within a month of the trip. So, I wouldn't book at the earliest opportunity if the flights were $79 or $89 each way; knowing that they generally drop. For my route, $39 is a good deal and that's what they're at right now for flights prior to the first week in February.

Again, if you are on a particular busy route, this theory may not hold true.

Just my $.02.
