I have a few questions for you guys, Is it pre 1982 pennies that work best...It seems that once a cm told us that and maybe I read it here as well. Also Where can I find a list of the locations of differ machines. Whenever I get a scanner, I have a great photo of dd holding her pressed coins up for the charters in the parade, I plan to add it to my signature...Any penny presser should appreciate it.:D Thanks so much for your help.:D

Dan...I was wondering how long it would be before having a link...Thanks so much!!!:D

what's with the pre-82 pennies? are they softer?

Pre 1982 pennies are 100% copper (except for 1943). In 1982, the mint switched over to zinc pennies with an ultra thin copper coating. The newer pennies give a "marble cake" appearance when pressed. Some people like this effect. I prefer to use older pennies.

on my trip last week I got a ttl of 40 pressed pennies and 6 quarters. I need another book to fill now. I have 26 left out that I can't fit into the other books. They also now have a quarter book out.

Thanks for the info...I knew it was something about pre82. I will start getting my pennies shined up now. A KID AT HEART, Quarter books...yahooo!!! We always fill empty film containers with our coins so we are not digging trying to find them, I am sooooo glad that DD got into penny preessing over autographs:D Thanks again, AKAH, how do you clean your coins??? I heard something about that once as well.
