Hi Guys and Girls. :)

We are staying at Asmusic this time around and would really like your advice on room choice, Our little girl is 5 and we would like a room pretty central to all things food, buses etc but also were it would be fairly quiet on a night so little one can get off to sleep easy. Would prefer a high level room also !

Any help or advice would be great then I can contact DW and see if they can note our booking to try and get our room selection :thumbsup2

Cheers All....:thumbsup2

Your closest to the main buildings are the Calypso buildings, but these are preferred/family rooms (2 separate categories) and both have an additional cost per night. Your next best for standard room would be the Jazz buildings. You will probably be disturbed by noise from the main pool if you have a pool facing room so I would ask for a room away from the pool and not right on the car park (which is at the back of the buildings and may also disturb your little one if she is a light sleeper)

If you can get building 2 there is the kids playground right there and it is a pretty neat one too :)

For very quiet, your best bet will be the back buildings. Now I dont think these are nearly as far as people make them out to be but I will say that if I came back from a park with a 5 year old asleep on my shoulder and had to carry her all the way there I may collapse before reaching my room :rotfl:I would ask for Building 2 as my first request, rather than just Jazz (unless you don't care about the playground) It is a 2 minute walk from the main buildings, as well as buses and magical express pick up and drop off point.

We stayed there in 2009 so feel free to ask if you have any questions. :goodvibes

Oh and it was lots of fun!!

We also stayed there in 2009!

Of all of the All Star resorts it is probably the worst laid out - i.e. very long and narrow.

We were in the Country section at the back of the resort. Convenient for the car park and very quiet. Only a 5 minute walk to the food court BUT it was August and very draining especially to get drink refills.:sad2:

We were close to the quiet pool and laundry.:)

However it was also a long way from the main pool and the nighttime noise.:)

we stayed at AS Music three times - i think all 3 times were in the country section (second to last section?)..

yes it was very convenient to the parking lot, but a healthy walk from the main building...

but the truth is, i like ASmusic so much i don't think i'd mind where my room is...

we're staying at the Pop this year because DD wanted to...but had i been picking, we would be staying at ASmusic :)
i actually prefer the layout there than at pop....

I've just reread my post and it looks very negative. We loved the Music Resort and had a great time. (And Country was very much the last section but still lovely.)

I think I slightly prefer the Sports, but probably because this was the first WDW resort we stayed at.

Have a good holiday, you'll enjoy it whichever building you are in. :cool1:

We'd walk across the car parks to each of the other resorts when we wanted a change of scene but couldn't be bothered to drive/bus anywhere for a meal.

Yeah we have stayed at POP two times before and we let DD pick this time so she went with Music, Most reviews are very good for Music as it got a full refurb about 2 years ago. Looking at the resort map I think if we can get a high floor room in building 2 ( Jazz Inn ) that might work well for us, Thanks for your help guys....

I just saw that you posted on here again. If you have any concerns about it at all, I will post my then 7 year old's rave review on the resort. It's great for kids and I am glad we stayed there when we did - no regrets whatsoever.

Ok thats cools thanks so much..... :thumbsup2

Im sure DD will love it she is so much into music at the moment, As long as its a tidy clean room I really dont mind, POP was perfect for us so im sure AS Music will be the same.... :)

Sorry about the previous brief post. I started out with the intentions of writing what my DD loved so much about the resort and was interrupted :rolleyes1

Some of the things she loved about ASMu:

  • Continuous activities and entertainment. There is always something happening at the main pool from hoola hoop contests and dance competitions/dance parties to family bingo and games in the pool. They gave us a weekly schedule at the beginning of each week and also had it written on a board at the main pool. They started around 10 am and ran through until about 10 pm if I remember correctly, rounding off the evenng with a move on a big inlflatable screen each evening. Apparently if the weather is poor/rainy they show the movie inside the food court.
  • Gift store: What I haven't noticed at the other resorts that they did over here was have a CM at a table with chairs at the entrance to the store and you could actually go in and look around and they would sit and colour in/play games with the children. Not that you would want/need to leave your child there for any length of time but it was great if we were popping in for something at the end of the day and she wasn't in the mood (this was before she discovered how fun it is to spend money :rotfl:) or if there was a long queue to pay, it would keep her happy for 5 minutes or so. In fact we often got stuck there for a while as she never wanted to leave!
  • Kids playground: One of the nicer ones we have seen. In fact DD preferred it to the playgrounds at the moderates
As far as the resort as a whole is concerned, we had great bus service, Mousekeeping was efficient, rooms were clean, grounds were spotless, staff were always incredibly friendly and helpful and overall we had a great time. We never spent much time at the resort as we really packed our park days, but the time we spent there, we were never short of anything to do and honestly don't have anything bad to say about it. And I shoud add that I had my reservations about it before we left and wondered if I shoud upgrade, but worried for nothing.

I personally think that values are really fantastic for younger children when it comes to the theming. If I had to stay at a value resort again, I would have no hesitation in going back to Music. You'll have a blast.

Hope this helps

This is over 2 years old and I don't know how much has changed since then, but for interest sake, here is one of the entertainment schedules for the week. I recall the morning activities being more informal but there was a list somewhere, which I think was on the chalkboard at the pool
