All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

I have some pictures that I just got back today from last summer. I scanned them, but I don't know how to scan just the picture and not the whole page. I am really sorry about that.

I am very new to ASMU (have not been there yet). I read somewhere on DIS about games as well as outside movies being offered at this resort.

Can anyone tell me what is offered, where and when?

Thank you

If you look at post 355 it has all of the activities they have going on right now. Looks like a lot of fun things. Makes me wish I was going to be there longer.

Thanks tnmomof4 love the pictures.

My DH and I will be at the ASMu on May 6 - 11.

I will be VERY observant when we arrive, and take in all details about this resort to post upon our return - Will also take many pictures!

Starting to pack! Looking forward to our vacation at the World!

Have a great trip :cool1: I have a month and half till my first one this year.

We have a reservation for a standard room. Which buildings are these? It's a regular double, not a suite or anything. Would like to know which building(s) w/standard rooms are closest to food court and buses.

Thanks!

Any buildings aside from Calypso are standard rooms. It will be two double beds. The closest after Calypso are the Jazz Inn buildings.

I've been trying to read everything about ASMu and if I read correctly, someone said that the Broadway building is a 5 minute walk to the food court/ buses? Others say that it's a long haul. When we stayed at POP last year, I timed my walk from the 60's Building and it was only a five minute walk. Has anyone timed their walks? I know this is a crazy question, but why not ask since everyone has been so helpful on these boards.
I love all the pictures! Thanks to all of you for all the information. I have learned so much.

Thanks so much! This trip is my daughter's (college) graduation present and she is SO excited.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know if these activities are now a permanent event at ASMu?

I've booked a standard room at ASMU for three nights in Aug. We have a 9-year old son. Will he like the theming? I really didn't want to book ASSP.

I don't think they have made them permanent yet. But it does look like its going on for a while now. We all just have to tell Disney how much we love that stuff and to keep doing it. Maybe they will listen to us and keep it going.

I called and talked to a CM at the front desk of ASMusic. I asked her this same question. She said that the activities and recreation are still going on. She said as far as she knew there were no plans to stop doing them.

Does anyone know what type of room location we should ask for? We would like to stay near the food court and bus stop if possible. Thx!

:goodvibes

The Calypso bldg is the closest to pool, food court, and bus stop. It is "preferred" priced. The Jazz is the 2nd closest and it is "standard" priced. Usually about $10 difference per night I think. You can request Jazz if you get standard, but it won't be guaranteed.:thumbsup2
