All-Star Movies questions

It's been a long time since I've been on here, but I'm planning a whirlwind tour of WDW with friends and family in late September.

Everything has been booked, and our "home base" for the trip will be All-Star Movies. This will be a vacation of firsts: my first time at a Value resort, the first visit to WDW for my younger friend (though he has visited Disneyland several times, and the first time since 1971 (yes, the year the park opened) for my mother's friend. We're going to pack as much time into 4 days/3 nights (with three of those being park days; and yes, we got Park Hopper tickets) as we can. We will be staying three nights in two separate rooms, with a request made for adjacent and/or connecting rooms.

However, as this is our first time there, I do have questions.
  • Is there any way that you can contact Disney to reserve a room in a specific wing? We would prefer to stay in the Toy Story or Herbie the Love Bug wings.
  • How fast is the free Wi-Fi?
  • I know that the buses for the All-Star Resorts make three stops, one at each resort. What sequence do the buses stop in?
  • Last trip (AKL/March 2009), our party booked through Expedia, and our boarding passes for our flight home were at our door the day before. This time, we booked through Delta Vacations; do they do the same thing?
  • Although there is no coffee pot in the rooms, is the refillable mug a good value for the four days/three nights (with three days spent in the parks) that we will be staying?

Thanks in advance.

You can't reserve a building. You can call WDW and make a request. Toy story is a preferred room and love bug is standard. So, if you booked a standard room you can't request toy story and vice versa.

Free wifi to us was slow but we are used to super quick cable Internet.

Wen they share, it is sports, music, and movies. In our experiences, the all stars only shared midday and each had its own bus at park opening and closing, except DTD which was always shared.

I can't offer any advice for your last 2 questions. We drive to WDW and we never use the mugs.

To request a room in a particular building, as PP said, just call Disney to let them know which building you'd prefer (but they can't 'guarantee' anything). And your request options definitely depend on which kind of room you booked (preferred vs. standard)

I haven't stayed there since wifi was added, so I have no input on that...
...or on boarding passes because I've only ever booked through Disney.. (lol sorry for all this useless un-help!)

For the resort mugs, they are $14 I think? So I'd guess that to purchase coffees/teas/sodas individually (WITHOUT the mug), you'd be looking at about $2.50 per drink (I'm estimating)....so if you think you'll be thirsty enough to have 6 drinks at the resort during your 4 days, you'll save money by getting the mug!
Personally, I would say yes to the mug either way, because they make a really fun and useful souvenir after your trip :)
