Hi there,

We are taking our 1st family vacation (I have a 4 yo and 7 yo girls) in a couple of months. I would like to be centrally located, but also in a 'somewhat' quiet place in case my 4 yo dd naps at any point (she doesn't usually, but I figure this will be a tiring week and a half). Anyways, I'm wondering if Toy Story (Woody/Buzz) OR 101 Dalmatians (Pongo/_?___) is closer to Cinema Hall? Also, I was thinking facing the Courtyard would be kind of neat to see the decorations if we get it, BUT is it noisier? Do you think the non-courtyard would be quieter? Do people 'hang-out' by the decorations? Looking for advice... esp. if you have stayed here before.

Thank you,
Cris

Both Toy Story & 101 Dalmatians are located the same distance from Cinema Hall. They are mirror images of each other. It just depends on which building you are in, and your location within that building. The Woody building is closer than the Buzz building, and I don't recall if it is Pongo or Perdita for the Dalmatian area.
Ground floor rooms are usually noisier than the other floors (because of increased pedestrian traffic on the lower levels heading to other areas or upper floors.) I have not noticed any additional noise with facing the courtyard vs. parking lot.

We were on the Pongo side, towards the back and there was no noise... I think the Toy Story side is a bit more fun though for younger kids. That being said, I would think the Toy Story side might be a bit noisier, since there is a bit more stuff for kids to climb on on that side.

The buildings are about the same distance.

We have stayed in both Toy Story buildings. It was very quiet.

The guest in the Mighty Ducks buildings have to walk past the Dalmatians buildings to get to the main building/food court, etc., so Dalmatians is subject to more foot traffic. (Although, for guest in the Mighty Ducks buildings, it is closer to walk to All Star Music to catch the buses.)

They're about the same distance from Cinema Hall, but Toy Story is closer to the bus stops. Walk around the "side" way instead of going through the Main Hall and you're right at the bus stops.

We stayed in Toy Story on the backside of the courtyard (aka Andy's Room) on the third floor. Picture the building in the shape of the letter T. The courtyard rooms are on the top of the T facing out. We were within 5 minutes of walking to Cinema Hall. We had no noise issues other than the people nextdoor. And yes, people do hang out in the courtyard. Sometimes noisy, sometimes not, but kids like to play around the giant figures. Usually there's always people out there taking pictures. Check out the map for ASMo on allearsnet.com for the layout of the resort.

PS- Be prepared to ask for what you want, but not always get it. We requested Toy Story section, courtyard, building #10 (buzz lightyear) and paid for the preferred location. We were given Fantasia (which technically is slightly closer to CH and pool, but not enough to matter to us). Upon checking in I asked if they had anything in Toy Story so they gave us building #10, just not courtyard view. It was fine. We had a view of trees and the courtyard was just a few feet away around the corner.
