All outdoor rides down right now

Just checked wait times on Touring plans. Looks like all the outdoor rides at every park are down right now. Anyone have any info? Weather.com has rain with thunderstorms, but it seems if all 4 parks with their outdoor rides affected at the same time, must be quite a big storm.

Yeah, the reason is the thunderstorms tonight which are happening early. Just a precaution more than anything.

It's more of a thing with lightning. Outdoor rides can run in rain, but lightning is a big no-no. While it may only be technically storming in a section of WDW, there may be lightning picked up on radar in all parks.

Exactly. Universal do it as well and its just to be on the safe side. The new Kong ride at Universal has a "indoor only" version of the ride when theres lightning outside compared to the outdoor and indoor version when there isn't.

Thanks everyone. I've probably just never noticed it affecting all 4 parks at the same time. When I'm there I've seen it storm in 1 park but be sunny in another. Hope it passes soon so everyone can get on with their fun!

From the forecast, it looks like scattered thunderstorms will be in the Orlando area till at least Tuesday night, but that doesn't mean they'll be bad storms as they might move away from the Disney Resort area by then. Fingers crossed anyway!

To be honest, its nothing special. I think I may have over-sold it too much!

Basically it just cuts off a tiny section (about 10 seconds) where the vehicle goes outside and then back into the indoor parts.

The daily afternoon thunderstorms hit right about 3:00 pm today. I live ~2 miles from the MK and it was a deluge. Its stopped now (5 pm) and things should have returned to normal although I do still hear some thunder in the distance.

I think storms affected Splash Mtn last night, it kept getting delayed. Don't know what affected Peoplemover (we noticed it was stuck for a long time, thankfully were not on it)

My two biggest fears happening to me at WDW would be being stuck on the Peoplemover or It's a Small World. God forbid!
