Okay, I'm back!!! By the way, I heard over the weekend that the dates for SSW in Orlando was Nov. 9-10.
It was a great weekend! We definitely learned what to do and not do. Also, because it was California's first time doing it-they made mistakes also.
We arrived Friday night and got to the parks about 7:40 a.m. on Saturday. I asked about the wristbands for Lucci and a guy said-Oh yeah, over there! We went over to this guy standing there with a plain manilla envelope and he gave us two bracelets. Throughout the day, many people asked us about the bracelets. No one knew about them! On Sunday, we heard the line for the bracelets started at 3:00 a.m., but we definitely benefited from this "rookie" error. Thanks Poohbear for telling me about the bracelets. Otherwise, I would have been like everyone else and not known about them.
We also learned that just because you are in an autograph line, doesn't mean you will get an autograph. We were at the end of Jake's line, waited over an hour, and then were shut out when his time was up!!! We learned from that mistake and if a line was too long, we did not get in it. We got in Jack's line about an hour and 1/2 before his signing time. Yes, I did get his autograph and many pictures. I also saw him at Millionare with Susan Lucci.
We pretty much spent the entire weekend in line. On Sunday (Ryan's only day), we used our hotel's back gate to enter the park. We were 2nd and 3rd in his autograph line. Then we sat and watched the stampede of people entering from the front gate. His line closed instantly and people actually lined up for his next time which was 5 hours away.
We ended up changing our flight time on Sunday to give us more time in the park, but it seemed like the lines were longer on Sunday. (I think everyone was learning by then.) We got Kendall's and Opal's, but many other lines were closed early.
It was a great weekend. I was very tounge tied with the stars and really didn't say too much.
Jack looked great. He dressed up in a suit and tie both days. The stars looked so good-I don't know why I was surprised that they look the same as they do on T.V. For some reason, I was expecting them to look different.
Next weekend is One Life to Live, and the following weekend is General Hospital and Port Charles. I loved that they split the weekends up. It was great having only AMC there. I can't imagine how crowded it would have been if all the soaps were there at once!
Any questions?
Patty
