All My Children fans

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a nice Easter!:D IASW: sorry to hear your news, but remember behind every cloud is a silver lining.;) I am having some personal problems myself, but I know it is only temporary, so I am coping.;) Yes, I miss Beanie too, but I know she is having a great time at THE WORLD!;) I missed the show yesterday, I had a friend call and talk to me for an hour and a half, so I had the show on, but had NO idea what was happening!:( I did see the Snake in Vanessa's bed, and saw David and Leo hugging. Thats about it! Everyone HANG in there, Nov. is just around the Corner!:D

So sorry that I've been "out of it" for so long!

First of all, belated happy birthday, Beanie!!!!! And hope that you're having a wonderful trip!

Baboo - I'm sorry - I don't remember anything about the storyline where Jackson talks to Dr. Joe about his condition - sorry! :( They haven't given Jack a good storyline in so long.....not since he was engaged to Erica when Bianca was very sick.....hopefully, we'll see him more now that they have actually given him an office set! :)

I loved the scene between David and Leo, yesterday - I thought that they both played it so well, and it was nice to see the 2 characters becoming closer. And Vanessa was just too much with that snake! I love how there's a guard outside Vanessa's door, still Opal, Palmer, and just about anyone else is allowed to just breeze right in to Vanessa's room!

If Greenlee keeps Trey waiting for their date much longer......I will volunteer to go out with him! :)

Thank you all for your kind thoughts. I'm already trying to look for another job, elsewhere in my company.....I've been here for 12 years, so I know lots of people......hopefully something will work out! :)

Have a great day! :)

About Jack and Joe's conversation. That was several years ago, right when Laurel came into the picture. I believe right after he almost hit her on the road, when she was a beautiful blonde. He told Jack his heart was under serious stress, and he needed to change his lifestyle. It never went any farther than that. I think they may have been setting it up so Jack would leave maybe, but thank goodness he never did. I think it was implied that he got in better shape and his health improved. I actually saw Walt Willey making jokes about it in an interview once.

Vanessa was such a riot yesterday with the whole snake thing, as was Opal!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are they going to kill Liza off??? I don't like her!

Haven't been watching much lately. The show isn't holding my attention much these days. Anyone else feel that way?

BTW-When is Maggie getting out of the hospital? Was she that sick?

I was wondering yesterday, too, why Maggie is still there. Seems to be an awfully long hospital stay to me. Chris didn't stay that long, and he was shot in the chest LOL.

Erika

 Hi, ladies! Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend.

Lisa - Sorry to hear about the situation with your job. Wishing you lots of luck on finding another position within your company! Hope it's all resolved before your wedding in a couple of months!

Faith - hope your problems iron themselves out soon.

Pembo - congratulations on finding out you're going to have a little girl! (read it on another thread)

pnelson - when do you leave for DL? Hope you screw up the courage to get your picture taken with Jack Scalia! ;) He was on the show today. Hubba hubba! ;)

I loved the David/Leo scenes yesterday too! And Vanessa with the snake! LOL! Didn't know Opal had a mean streak - shaking that rattle in the doorway! :D

What was up with Ditsie calling David collect today?! Can you say plot device?!

Sorry to hear about your job situation, IASW. I hope things work out soon!

I loved the scenes w/ David & Leo too.
I wondered about Maggie too. Seems like an awful long stay. Hope she has good insurance!! :D :D

Trey is very nice on the eyes! Yummy!! ;)

Hmmm, interesting: SoapCentral - Cady McClain's letter to fans
McClain Talks About ATWT Role
Posted Sunday, March 31, 2002 9:54:29 PM

Cady McClain's (Dixie Martin) first appearance as As The World Turns' Rosanna Cabot is still several days away, but the actress is speaking out about her time at AMC and her future on ATWT.

Though originally thought to be a hoax, a letter written by McClain has been confirmed as legit by an ATWT spokesperson. The complete text of McClain's letter is available through a link at the end of this article.

"Thank you so much for all of your care and interest in AMC and my character of Dixie over the years," McClain says in her letter. "I cannot tell you how much it has meant to me. I have always felt the AMC audience was filled with intelligent, deep feeling people who deserved to be given the very best I had to offer, and I tried every day to never give less than 100%."

McClain admits to being "flattered" that ATWT wanted her for the role of Rosanna Cabot, a role very much unlike her sugary-sweet Dixie on AMC. The actress also admits to being a closet fan of the CBS soap.

"I don't think you know this, but I have been a huge fan of ATWT," continues McClain. "I know almost the characters, and who they've been involved with. I even feel a little star struck around certain actors who shall remain nameless!"

Some fans have already spoken out against McClain's letter, stating that it was inappropriate for her to reach out to AMC fans and try to lure them over to a competing network. Fans of ATWT, however, have stated that they're impressed with McClain's praise of their show.
Following is the complete text of McClain's letter.

Dear Wonderful and Supportive fans of All My Children,

Thank you so much for all of your care and interest in AMC and my character of Dixie over the years. I cannot tell you how much it has meant to me. I have always felt the AMC audience was filled with intelligent, deep feeling people who deserved to be given the very best I had to offer, and I tried every day to never give less than 100%. I have worked hard to be a team player. I have felt that my employers showed wonderful confidence in me by giving me great storylines, both humorous and dramatic, and I have worked hard to earn their trust and deliver for them. I have been proud to work on AMC for as long as I have, and to have had your attention and support. Which is why I am writing this letter, so you can know from the horse's mouth why am going to be on ATWT for a while.

I have nothing bad to say about AMC, or any one I have worked for or with there. It has never been anything but good feelings all around. I believe in the show as much as I ever have.

Personally, after Sept 11th, I started to reevaluate my life, as many of us have. I realized I was tired, creatively and physically, and I needed...something. A break, a change, something different to wake up my insides. It is hard work being an actor; it takes a lot of constant revitalization to give as much energy as we do. Originally, I had no real "plan." I just wanted to leave contract status and "keep the door open," as we say, so that Dixie could come back here and there. I still feel that way. She is pregnant, in Europe, and with a delicate physical condition, so...anything could happen in any amount of time. The powers that be were kind enough to leave me with this exit, and I am so very grateful to them. I never have taken their kindnesses for granted, nor do I intend to. It is just too important to me for that.

When I was approached a few weeks after I shot my last day at AMC with the idea of coming to ATWT for a little stint to try out an old character that they were working on, I felt very flattered and interested to join the cast and try something new. I don't think you know this, but I have been a huge fan of ATWT. I know almost the characters, and who they've been involved with. I even feel a little star struck around certain actors who shall remain nameless!

I had no intention of hurting anyone's feelings, or giving anyone the idea I wasn't perfectly happy or satisfied with the AMC world. I just needed a change, something to shake up my creative insides, and it was a long standing dream of mine as a fan, what can I say, I hope you all can understand that.

I hope you all keep watching AMC. It's a great show, with lots of wonderful actors. Mickey Knight has been brilliantly supportive about my trying new things, as have they all. He and I did a movie together in December, and hopefully it will be out soon. It's called "The Retreat," and is a rather poignant little film, I think. I will make sure to let you all know when it comes out.

After AMC is over, try switching to ATWT. You can always catch One Life to Live and General Hospital at night on Soap Net! You may find you like ATWT as much as I do. The new character that I am playing is a lot different from Dixie, and might take a little getting used to, but soon I hope you'll see just how much fun and interesting she is. I am doing everything I can think of to make it the best work I can do, and it is a very talented group over there as well. I am thrilled and grateful to have the support of you in the daytime world, and very happy to work in this medium.

Thank you for your caring, and I hope this letter will clear up any misunderstandings that might be out there. I have not spoken to anyone during my negotiations, nor would I ever consider manipulating situations to my "advantage," so all that stuff in the press has been just gossip. I don't know who those "sources" were, but trust me, they really jumped the gun. Please believe me, I have nothing but good feelings for AMC, and excitement for this new role at ATWT.

All my best to each and every one of you,
Love,
Cady McClain
Uh, she calls Michael E Knight "Mickey"? Just for the record - I ain't watching her on ATWT! :p

I leave for SSW on Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m.-We arrive at 7:00 a.m.!!! I emailed Poohbear with some questions.

Also, if anyone is interested, tomorrow on The View-Jack Scalia will be on with Susan Lucci!!!

pnelson - Hope you have a great time at SSW! We want to see lots of pictures when you get back! :D

Thanks for that info about The View tomorrow. I saw where Susan Lucci was going to be on but didn't know Jack Scalia would be on too! I don't care for that show and wasn't going to tune in just for Susan Lucci even as much as I love her. But now that I know Jack Scalia will be on I think I'll make the effort! ;)

Mickey Knight? UGH! I won't be watching ATWT either. Maybe once to see her, but that is it! LOL

pnelson, have a great time at SSW! Take lots of pics!!

Thanks for the info on The View, too. :D

pnelson: I emailed you back, hope they were helpful. Also, you will be given a schedule when you go thru the gates, make sure you get at least two! Hey guys, I have YET to see this new guy Trey!? Have NO idea WHAT he looks like as yet, hope he is ON tomorrow! See ya, Faith. Thanks for the warm wishes, I need them!;) Good luck to you IASW!;)

Well, I have been emailing Poohbear like crazy. I am getting a little stressed because I think it's going to be crowded. Fortunately, it is only All My Children at this event, so I hope it won't be crazy. They did change the hours to 8:00 a.m. The main thing I am worried about is getting a fastpass for Millionare at 12:00. We land at 8:00 am, we are grabbing a cab to the hotel, grabbing our tickets, and then we will go to California Adventure to get our fastpasses. Hope it works! Wish me luck!

Patty

Patty: I consider us BEST FRIENDS now!!:D Again, relax and have a GOOD time, you might have better luck than I did, as SSW here has ALL 3 ABC soaps! Hey, I get to see AMC ALL this week, due to my stupid hours at work!

Just finished watching Susan and Jack on The View. They were so cute together. Did you see the clip they showed before they came out?! Big kiss that we haven't seen yet and Chris was standing! :) :D Hope we get to see that soon! ;)

Didn't realize it was just AMC people at SSW this weekend at DL. That's great! Wish they would do it that way at WDW.

Have a great time, Patty! I'm excited for you! :D

I have to say, one thing I am very curious about, is seeing what some of these stars look like when they are not on T.V. Especially some of the woman, like Greenlee and Kendall. If they say T.V. adds 10-15 lbs., these woman must look like sticks in real life. Especially Kendall with her high-wasted, sucked in pants that she wears. Sometimes everyone looks so perfect on T.V., I just think it will be interesting to see what they really look like. (Can you tell I've never met anyone famous before?)

pnelson-The stars are EVEN skinnier in person than you can imagine! I saw Susan Lucci at WDW and wow, she's like half a person. Her arms are so tiny! IMHO-Vincent Irizarry(David) was much better looking in person. Cameron Matheson is a god! When we are at WDW my dh and I didn't wait in any lines to "meet" them. We just wandered up near the signing booths and took pics. I'm not in any of the pics but I still have great pics. Helps that DH is 6'4" and could get shots over people's heads. Have a great time!

Could somebody give me a quick rundown on what is wrong with Liza, I haven't been watching much lately.

I saw Pembo's pics, and they came out great!!! :D :D :D

I forgot to watch Susan and Jack on The View!
I got involved in watching Sally Jesse and forgot!! :D

Thought some of you might find this of interest.

Former `All My Children' star Michael Nader sues ABC

(New York-AP) -- An ex-soap opera star has filed a lawsuit against ABC for nearly $32 million, claiming the network lied to him and damaged him professionally and financially. Fomer ``All My Children'' star Michael Nader says in court papers that he ``became ill'' in February 2001 and went on medical leave. But the 57-year-old Nader was actually in drug treatment after a narcotics arrest in Manhattan's East Village. The district attorney's office says he pleaded guilty and was sentenced May 22, 2001, to three years of probation. In papers filed in Manhattan's state Supreme Court, Nader says he told ABC in March 2001 that he was ready to work but officials there told him to continue on medical leave. He says they assured him everything was OK. But last September, court papers say, ABC executives refused to let Nader return to his role and refused to release him from his contract so he could work elsewhere. Nader played the dark, dashing and rich Hungarian Count Dimitri Marick on the soap for nearly 10 years. Nader's Dimitri character began on ``AMC'' in 1991 and eventually became a love interest of Susan Lucci's character, Erica Kane. Nader was written out of the show in 1999. The character was resurrected in 2000 but was written out again in 2001 after Nader's arrest and rehab.
