Hi all! I haven't posted on this thread in AGES! Glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks the story lines are rotten lately.

That whole Atlantis thing--they could have done SO much better. It didn't seem very well planned out.

Also, just another question here. Did any of you hear that Super Soap Weekend could be in August or September this year?

Hi Erika! Jake must be taking his male chauvinist lessons from Ed-dumb - they've both been acting like neanderthal cavemen, with their wives, lately! And you're right about Simone and her panting - she's really been laying it on thick, lately. But she's much funnier and amusing to watch than she used to be!

Hi everyone else - hope that you're all having a great weekend!

I just knew that the "Ladies of the evening" with whom Simone was incarcerated were going to plan to show up at the Fusion party! That's going to be some party - with Carlos (most likely) going after Greenlee, Simone wavering between Carlos and Kenny, Mia playing hostess while suffering dirty, sullen looks from Jake across the room (as he tries to avoid Allison's advances in public), Opal showing up in some conservative, designer outfit to show up Erica, Lena and Bianca playing spy, Adam and Liza probably encountering Drone Chick and Frog Boy (while Frog Boy and Cardboard Girl sulk over Drone Chick and Jamie)......... PV won't have seen that much action since Liza pushed Mia out the window and Jamie "outed" Adam and Brooke and the fundraiser masquerade ball! Never a dull moment in PV!

I would love to see Jack and Erica back together. It is kind of nice to see 2 men "fighting over" Erica - just like the old days!

What the heck were Drone Chick and Cardboard Girl doing at Fusion, helping them get ready for the party, anyway? If they were there, shouldn't Maggie have been there, too? Do the teens work there? Or just volunteer in their spare time (does Drone Chick have any spare time, between studying, whining about JR, and working her part time job)? I don't get it! And why does Cardboard Girl even care what Drone Chick does with Jamie - all she ever does is berate Jamie to his face, herself!

Enough with those kids! I'd rather see more of Maggie and Henry, the Renaissance Man (is there anything that he can't do? Now we find out that he is a self-taught musician, as well as a scientific prodigy)!

I HOPE Not, I have ressies for Nov.! The first SSW was in Sept, and it was very HOT and rained so, I think that is why they held it in Nov.....better weather! (Stars cannot have their makeup running OFF thier Face!).

There's an article in today's New York Times about how the reality shows like Joe Millionaire and Bachelor/Bachelorette are really very much like the soap operas. They remark how Trista's "I love you and pick you" speech was an awful lot like what soap opera heroines have been saying for years.

But, here's the interesting part of the article:

To lure younger viewers, the producers of AMC are incorporating into the plotline a reality talent contest copied from another ABC hit, "Are You Hot..."

Two characters -- Greenlee Smythe (Rebecca Budig) and Kendall Hart (Alicia Minshew) -- decide to start a search for the sexiest man in America to promote their new line of cosmetics. During the spring break period, the actresses, followed by a camera, will hold the first auditions for real-life contestants in Panama City, FL. An eventual winner is expected to make an appearance on "AMC" in the fall.

"Primetime reality shows absolutely give women a soap opera experience, " said Brian Scott Frons, president of ABC daytime and a former porducer of European reality shows. "And now we can take some of the authenticity and upredictability of prime-time reality and put it into soap operas."

I sure hope not, it is too stinking hot here to have it at that time of year. I know if they do have it during those months then I probably will not go.

Welcome back, Christine! And thanks for warning me about the Spoilers! Hope that you had a wonderful trip! I'm going to look at your pictures as soon as I am done posting!

Thanks for the information, Pam! I had actually heard something about that contest, awhile ago - maybe someone had read it on line or in "Soap Opera Digest" - but not in such detail! Very interesting, how they would incorporate that into the Fusion plot! I guess ABC is trying to rival FOX in the "reality TV" market, or something. Maybe they'll work it into the plot by saying that they need a new male model to replace Jake......and that no one in PV is attractive enough to fit the bill, so they have to do a nation-wide search! Could be interesting.....but I wish that they would just stick to developing the (5 million) characters on the show, instead of engaging in outside ploys, like this!

I saw most of it. I love the part where Palmer walks up to Petey and Opal and asks Petey who the hottie was that he was talking to. Opal looked good and I hope that we see when Erica hears how her friend was dressed!!

I'm sorry that you didn't like yesterday's show, Faith - I thought that it was great! I love the episodes where there is a party or a wedding, or something, and most of the cast is involved, and there is always all kinds of "drama" and melding of the storylines going on! You know what I totally don't get, though? WHY are Maggie, Drone Chick, and Cardboard Girl in the Fusion "video" that they kept showing in the background? Exactly what IS their connection to the company?? I don't get it!! And THOSE are the "fantastic" designer dresses that they were all so concerned about wearing to the party? I mean they all looked nice, but I didn't see anything so fantastic about the dresses, themselves. And did the invitation to the party specify that everyone has to wear black except for Greenlee, Kendall, Mia, and Simone? Or was that just a crazy coincidence???

I loved that Lysistrata showed up and was dancing with Tad - they are so funny!

I really hope that they don't have Trey and Janelle be murdered by that kid who's always bothering Reggie - that would be such a "cop out" way to write Trey off the show.

I'm sure that the guy from NY is not Greenlee's secret admirer (I haven't seen today's show yet, in case that is confirmed).

I wish that they would just have Kendall get together with BoydBoydBoyd, already. How much rejection can that poor guy take, before he gives up??

I wonder if part of Lena's spy mission (for whomever it is that she is spying - maybe Michael?) is to seduce Bianca? It seems like they keep dancing around that possibility - the way that they danced around the possibility of Bianca and Maggie getting together. I wonder if Lena and Michael are really married to one another and are both there to infiltrate Erica's empire (and Kendall's, by association). Maybe Jack and Chris will figure that out, together, and expose them, and then Erica will have one more reason that it will be hard for her to choose between them.

Simone was being so rude to Kenny, leaving him behind to go and flirt with Carlos! She and Kendall need to see the nice guys that they have standing right in front of them, instead of going for the "wrong men" all the time!

Opal looked amazing! I hope that Erica gets to see her dressed that way, too!

Looks like Jake is in trouble, now! And now Simone gets to see what it's like to be the "discoverer" instead of the "discoveree"!

Hi gang...did catch yesterday's but missed today!

I actually LOOOVED yesterday's show too it was HILARIOUS! Lisa , YESS! Was TAD SMOOOOOTH on that dance floor or WHAT!!! And if he and Lysistrata hook up...oh MAN!

ANd the position Simone caught Jake and whatsherface in when she opened the closet door....bwahahahahaha!!!! Still find the whole JAKE storyline implausible and just plain DUMB.

Ok, call me a SQUARE, but WHY are all those underage KIDS at this free-flowing champagne party? Is anyone checking ID? Binks is still underage isn't she? And ooohh, looks like they're trying to hook Binks up with the mysterious European gal. An OLDER woman...ooohh!

What WAS weird was HOW they filled the empty room...one second the gals are wondering how to salvage their party, Greens says something to the effect of "I have not YET begun to fight", there's a clip of some Sex/City-esque montage of the girls and suddenly the room is filled--not packed--but decently filled with people....huh? Weird story flow I thought.

Alll in all, found it a REFRESHING break from Maurona.

I think Greenlee's secret admirer will turn out to be none other than Carlos.. Is it just me or do they always seem to have Carlos lurking in the background whenever Greenlee gets one of those things from her admirer.. He looks over he shoulder coyly as if to watch her reaction.. I could be wrong but we shall see. I haven't seen the last couple of days yet.. I think I am still on last Thursday?? I keep falling asleep when I watch it at night if that tells you anything.

I really thought that the way that AIRRRICKA (remember how Dimitri used to say her name) was downright nasty and cruel to Opal. With friends like that Opal doesn't need enemies. I guess it could have been in charcter for Er-ick-a she always so full of herself. I wish Opal would have torn her a new one and insulted those HIDEOUS Strapless-but bra-strap exposed dresses that Erica has been wearing. If those are high fashion heaven help us all.

Thought the Fusion girls dresses were icky! Is it me or did they seem a little "slutty" for an up and coming company party? Maybe I'm getting old.

Loved the scenes with Simone in jail! LOL

Can't stand this whole Jake storyline. I hate how they've turned him into such a jerk. All of this is so out of character for him.
