All My Children Fans Revisted!! (still loving and hating our show)

Hey Everyone!

Sorry that I have not been around, for the past few days, but I have been frozen solid for several days, up here in freezing NJ, and am only now beginning to "thaw out"! :) This weather that we've been having is just ridiculous - it was 4 degrees out, this morning, with a wind chill of - 7! 4 DEGREES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbelievable!

Anyway........I agree with you, Sarge - I get very uncomfortable when Ed-dumb has those fantasies about Mauron (very good! :) ), too. It's weird because they used to be one of my favorite couples, and now I would rather see her with Aidan! Speaking of Aidan, doesn't every would-be assassin carry around a chess set while holding someone hostage?? That storyline is just ridiculous!

I am also glad that we were spared the "teen Brady Bunch", yesterday, Faith! And I agree with you, MaryJ and Pembo - Petey is more talented and fun to watch than all of the "teens" put together! I love his scenes with Kendall! Actually, that little storyline with Kendall and the "handsome stranger" was actually very nice, yesterday. I hope that they leave it as just an independent experience that Kendall had to give her more confidence in herself instead of turning it into a recurring storyline, where she searches for Michael, or he turns out to be a business competitor, or whatever. What Erica said to Kendall yesterday was totally uncalled for and unprovoked - I don't like when Erica acts unreasonably, like that, then Chris shows up to tell her how wonderful she is.

I actually sort of enjoy the Maggie-in-college storyline - probably because I'm planning to go back to school full time, myself, in the fall, and it brings back memories of my college days and makes me think about what I'll have to look forward to, in a few months (I will have to take Organic Chemistry, as well - UGH. All of my friends who took it in college, who are now doctors or dentists, said that it really WAS the "killer" that Maggie and her pals are making it out to be!). And I sort of like her with Henry, too. I think that Henry's "secret" is that he lives at home with his mother, and he's embarrassed to admit that to Maggie (I remember reading somewhere, before his character came on that "a young Asian man and his mother are moving to Pine Valley").

I have no clue what Lena's purpose is, either. It would be kind of nice if she was a prospective love interest for Bianca, instead of a corporate spy, or whatever. It's nice that they're establishing an identity for Bianca, independent of Maggie, again. I just don't understand why they would keep BoydBoydBoyd on the show, but fire Trey! :( And he's "in love with" Kendall, all of a sudden? How much do you want to bet that he gets out of his contract with Erica and goes to work for Fusion, just to be closer to her??

Did anyone else think that it looked like Jake was wearing eyeshadow, the other day?? All of a sudden, Mr. Loyal is going to start looking at other women just because Tad said "dump Mia"??? That is so out of character for Jake. I hope that they don't proceed with having him have an affair with the resident at the hospital (even though she seems more interesting than Mia, even in the 2 seconds that she's been on screen so far). I did like the discussion that he had with Tad, though - I thought that they both played those scenes very well.

I read on SoapCentral that Laurie has signed a formal contract with "AMC". WHY????? Why do they give this dull character a contract, but get rid of Trey and Frank???? I just don't get it.

They tied up that Liza-pushed-Mia-out-the-window storyline very nicely, didn't they? Last month, Mia was on her deathbed in the hospital, and Liza was torturing herself with guilt......now Liza is setting up appointments for Mia to pick out wedding dresses, and there is never a mention of any animosity / suspicion / lack of trust?? Yet in other storylines, the same themes are harped on over.....and over.....and over (ie: Ed-dumb trying to force Maureena to get her memory back and fighting with David, Laurie and Joanie trying to convince eachother to go out with JR and Jamie, etc.).

What's the purpose of having Reggie live with Trey? Is Reggie going to be another new character for the "young crowd"? I like him - he's funny - but I don't see the purpose in having him live with Trey, or work at Fusion, for that matter.

Mia is the new face of Fusion?? Please. Maybe they could use her and her ever-changing hair as their hair model, though! When Jake picked up that picture of her on his desk, I almost didn't recognize her, because that was about 5 hairstyles / colors ago, for her!

Hope that all is well with all of you and that you're all staying warm! Have a nice day! :)

Just a funny side note to the Ed-Dumb/Mauron storyline. My wife was actually sitting in the kitchen watching Tuesday's show with me this morning. She watches very periodically now, dealing with an 11 month old and a 6 year old all day.. :) She was shocked though to see Mauron back at Wildwind. She asked me, didn't Edmund lock Maria up just the other day.. That would be unforgivable. I had to explain that not only did Mauron forgive Edmund for locking him up, Edmund got past this affection she had/has for Aiden.. Then I told her about the drug. She said, oh crud, they are making Edmund back in to the Evil Edmund of years past when he kidnapped AIR-icka... Yep, she is right. The once favorite couple on AMC is reduced to this tripe and no one cares anymore what happens to either of them. Very sad.

I agree with IASW.... I like the Maggie/Henry story. At least it is interesting and acted well. Unlike the High School dolts from hell storyline which is a definate FastForward. Maybe Jamie and JR will be replaced with older actors and mysteriously start attending PVU?

My thinking on this Trey/Reggie storyline is that Trey will be killed by someone gunning for Reggie. Maybe Trey will even take the bullet for Reggie showing showing he isn't such a bad guy after all. Who knows.. Boring for sure though.

Mia is the new face of Fusion, because Fusion is going to specialize in designer hair extensions that have mysterious elastic properties and can break falls from a 3 story building.

Maybe in light of these teeny bopper storylines that cretin heading AMC Daytime will rename our show.. "All My Stupidity"

You are Hysterical!:teeth: "Break falls from a 3 story building INDEED!" ;) So, Michael IS going to be a new Character?Lover/ etc for Kendall? OK..........Oh, and I got to see "Drunk Daddy" today, blahh!:p Yes, Doc. Jake is doing the NASTY as we speak, with the "mystery" woman...wonder if she will have a continuing story line. Oh, thats right, she has to be 18 or UNDER in order to be on the show permanent!

I tried catching up a bit with the comments but I'm too far behindto really get it...just caught a snippet today. I'm  and ...oh darn, Sherry!!! Send me the pukey smilie!!!

Bleeeegh..sorry folks, I must be a TOTAL SQUARE...but JAKE!!! Eew. That floozy he brought home ...I'm sorry, was she supposed to be an intern or a resident or something...ew. EEEW. I can't believe what he did! Now I can't wait to tune in and see Mia's reaction...oh no! It's Friday!:( I'll have to wait two whole days!;):p

And the other NAUSEATING thing...the virtual cyber landscape of LOOOOOVE...the CHEEEESY split-screen...oh help! JR and Laurie...nononononono. NO. Uh-uh.

Then I had to go. Mercifully.

I want to see Erica make Kendall cry. Or Adam make Laurie cry. Is that too mean? :)

Here ya go, Jeannie

:teeth:

It's been frigid here today. Was -15 yesterday. Got to a whopping 4 or so today. I'm ready for summer.

Show was kinda boring today. I can't believe Jake is making out w/ that resident. It just seems very out of character for him. DESPISED the JR/Laurie scenes, loved the Greenlee/Kendall scenes.

Hi!

Did anyone else get really annoyed by those stupid sound effects every time Laurie and JR sent instant messages to one another on the computer?? Welll, at least that's a realistic feature - I was wondering why they didn't just e-mail or "IM" eachother, since their parents don't let them speak to or see eachother! Still, that fantasy with them against the pastel background was a little much!

I'm with you, Sherry and Jeannie - it was so out of character for Jake to fool around with that resident - especially in his office! The fine, upstanding Chief of Staff would never do anything like that, nor would a fine, upstanding Martin (unless his name is Tad!)! And of course, NOW Mia will finally be able to get away from Fusion and just happen to go over and surprise Jake at his office.......ridiculous. Though I have to say, it was nice to see Jake show some real passion / emotion for the first time since he was with Greenlee!

And I agree with you and your DW, Sarge - they have really hit bottom with this Ed-dumb and Mauron storyline. I was watching one of my old AMC tapes, the other day - I wanted to see what was going on, exactly 6 years ago now. That was when Ed-dumb had just found out that the baby that Maria was carrying (Maddie) was supposedly Dimitri's, and everyone knew that except Erica (who was pregnant with Dimitri's child, herself, at the time). And Skye kept threatening to expose the "secret", because she was in love with Ed-dumb, and the lab technician at the clinic was blackmailing Skye because he knew that she changed the paternity test results........that storyline was so much better than what they are doing with Ed-dumb and Mauron, now. It was riveting watching Maria try to get Ed-dumb to trust her, again, "repenting" for her sin with Dimitri, and everyone walking on eggshells around Erica, who was totally clueless about the affair, at that point. There was real tension / interest and the scenes were all very well acted. Now we're reduced to watching them involved in this drivel. Very sad. They are capable of so much better, as actors, and the writers used to be capable of giving them so much more to do. In the mean time, I don't think that Mia's magic hair extensions are going to "break her fall", when she catches Jake having fun on the desk with that resident! Interesting theory about Trey and Reggie, too!

UGH - looks like we're in for some more meaningless scenes between Aidan and his chess-playing-captor on Monday.

I also loved the scenes between Greenlee and Kendall, on Friday. It was nice to see them sympathizing with one another and actually sort of getting along and trying to understand eachother. I hope that they don't make Kendall's romance with Michael a regular storyline - it was nice as a little, independent piece, serving the purpose of giving Kendall some confidence in herself. I hope that Michael doesn't turn out to be Lena's secret partner in cosmetics company spying......then it will be Kendall and BoydBoydBoyd against the world, saving their respective employers.......UGH.

Hope that you're all having a nice weekend! :)

Well we discussed it and here it is:

Page Is Latest AMC Star To Get The Boot

Lately it's become a weekly occurrence at All My Children to have an actor released from his contract or - even worse - get fired. This week's casualty is newcomer Sam Page (Trey Kenyon).

Page's dismissal comes on the heels of the ousters of Jason Olive (Frank Hubbard) and J. Eddie Peck (Jake Martin). ABC announced earlier this month that both actors were being released from the contracts. Olive has already made his final on-air appearance. Page and Peck are expected to bow out in February.

I dont like these new people getting rid of the people we like!! Get rid of dumb JR or those girls. Ugh!!!

Spoilers coming up

Jamie's words upset JR.

It's a very sad day in Pine Valley, indeed. :(

Thanks for the confirmation of Trey's "release", Christine. Well at least we know it's for certain, now. *SIGH* I don't know why they keep letting the good people go.
:(

And thanks for the spoilers, too......even though I didn't allow myself to read them, as usual! :)

Have a nice day! :)

Olive has already made his final on-air appearance.

How did this end up? I know he and Mia talked but did he say he was leaving town or something similar?

Right now AMC seems to have an awful lot of story lines that aren't all that interesting and are kind of disjointed. The idea of "Fusion" being like "Sex in the City" doesn't seem to be happening except for the girls getting some nice fashions to wear. Hopefully, things will get better soon....I'm even beginning to wish they'd bring Proteus back instead of "tales of high school of love". ;)

Hi Pam!

We must be getting pretty desperate for storylines if we're wishing for Proteus instead of this drivel that they've been giving us, lately! :)

No, Frank neve rmentioned anything about leaving town......I guess he's just drifting into the nameless, faceless population of hospital employees, or something. I guess they won't be showing Myrtle's house any time in the near future - then they would have to explain why he isn't there! Simone got over him pretty quickly, didn't she?

I like the scenes at Fusion - they're some of the most interesting that they show, these days!

I'm very bored with Aidan and Morgan.

I'm glad that they're letting Tad have some witty lines, lately - he does comedy and those quick one-liners so well (ie: his conversation with Jake: "ON DAD'S DESK??")! :) I have a feeling that guilt will overcome Jake, he will eventually tell Mia about his "affair" with Allison, and then he'll slink out of town in shame. What will they do with Mia, though? At least they discontinued the storyline where Adam was trying to turn her into his little adoring fan - that was almost as creepy as Simone and Roger!

Have a nice day! :)

I too loved Tad's one-liners about Jake on Dad's Desk! And for the record, Alison seemed much better for Jake! And what the heck was Mia wearing??????? Poor Jake looked like he wanted to run for the hills!

Aidan/Morgan.........the Brady Bunch teens are more exciting than that. I think they need a good barber on this show. Jaime and nuJR need some serious work done!

Will Brooke tell Maureenia that Ed-dumb is drugging her? She seems to be the thought-police for the two of them!

I think they need to rename the show--Where are All my children? The characters are all disappearing...........

Missed the show today and yesterday, besides kicking more people off:rolleyes: did I miss anything? Did Jake get caught doing the Naughty on Daddy's Desk? Does Whats her name know? (the Hair girl).:o

Was anyone else grossed out by yesterday's show? :( Here you have Jake doing the horizontal mambo on Daddy's old desk with some floozy who couldn't have come onto Jake any stronger and then he goes home and is kissing Mia. He did this in a hospital, I would think the residents, or SOMEWHERE they would have had a shower for him to clean up in? I kept cringing watching those scenes. Poor Mia, as much as she has been avoiding Jake lately, she didn't deserve this. Thank God Jake found a way to get out of the loft before Mia started getting any more romantic with Jake... Still grosses me out.. Maybe I am just a prude? ;) I guess they had to do something to make it easier for Jake to leave the show in the next month... Nice way to trash Jake's character though.

.....and speaking of "out of character, did anyone see the promos for Friday's show with Erica making out with Jackson???!!! What the heck is THAT about?!! It's nice that they may be giving Jackson something to do (finally), and I always did like him with Erica, but......what the heck are these writers thinking, lately? First Mr. Goody Two Shoes Jake has an affair with a subordinate on his office desk, now Erica is cheating on Chris with Jack?!! And it looks like they're preparing to have Trey get together with the doctor from the clinic - maybe they will get married, formally adopt Reggie, and move out of PV, thus leaving the clinic to David.....and that's how Trey will make his exit. Well, at least they're wrapping up these characters' storylines, unlike Frank and Tim, who just disappeared!

I am sooooooo bored with Aidan / Morgan / Maria / Ed-dumb / David. Did anyone else notice that each segment of those 2 storylines, yesterday, was exactly the same as the others and could have been summed up in one sentence instead of being dragged out through an entire episode??

SCENE 1:

Ed-dumb: "Maria's remembering!"

Isabella: "That's wonderful, she's coming back to us, at last!"

Maria: "Mama"

Isabella: "Oh, Edmund, it's a miracle! But I think Maria has a cold....."

SCENE 2:

Morgan: "I'm going to kill Maureen and steal all her money because you love her more than me."

Aidan: "I'll help you! Untie me! No? Well, you'll never get away with it."

Morgan: "Shut up. Julian is going to kill you."

SCENE 3:

David: "You shouldn't have drugged Maria. She might die."

Ed-dumb: "I don't care. I'm getting my wife back."

David: "I must examine her."

Ed-dumb: "No."

SCENE 4:

Reggie: "I like Trey. He's cool and he understands how I feel."

Dr. from clinic: "He's an arsonist and he's bad."

Trey: "But I understand how it feels to be shipped off to many different foster homes".

Dr. from clinic: "But you're an arsonist and you're bad."

Kendall: "No he's not."

SCENE 5:

Reggie: "Get me a beer."

Laurie: "Drinking is evil."

THE END

There - there's all of yesterday's episode - wouldn't it have been simpler to leave it at that than force us to watch the same lines being said over and over, 4 or 5 different ways????

Have a nice day! :)

You mean they didn't have a scene with JAY-ARE making facial gestures like a frog catching his lunch?

Nope....that was actually on TODAY'S show, Sarge! :) You are so funny!

Yeah, JR put on quite a performance, being the "tough guy" to Laurie's father, today. I was waiting for him to say some trite thing to Jamie like "stop moving in on my girl"....and he actually SAID IT, today! Oh brother (literally!)! What do they all see in that girl? She has the emotional range of a slice of bread.

More stupidity with Aidan and Morgan.

I did like Maureena's standing up to Ed-dumb and telling him to leave her alone and give her some space......before she passed out!

Very cute scenes with Adam, Liza, and Lysistrata - finally, a storyline for the Chandlers that doesn't make me want to slit my wrists! I like that Lysistrata - she's the only bright spot in a sea of boring new characters.

Hope that you're all having a nice afternoon! :)

You know what would have been funny? To see Lysistrada with Arlene.. That would probably have been a hoot.

I too like the new storylines between Adam/Liza/Lysistrata. It was pretty cute today.

That was about the only bright spot in todays show.
