All in the Golden Afternoon... Epcot's Flower & Garden

Hi Crissy!:goodvibes Gorgeous update!

I agree, Aladdin looks quite lonesome in that garden! Where is Jasmine or the Genie??:confused3

Oh how I love Disney fountains! And this Moroccan one is stunning because of all that amazing tile work.:thumbsup2

You know, I have a crazy fetish about light fixtures too. When we ate at Yak & Yeti, I was completely taken with their lights! DH was like, how many pics do you need of them?:rotfl: They're so pretty. And the Morocco ones you captured are gorgeous, especially this one:
It's so lacy looking and delicate with such color!

I really love this pavillion, it's so unique! Have you read any of Liesa's (All7ofUs) TR? She just did an update on Morocco and it's beautiful! I really enjoy seeing other cultures, don't you?

Looking forward to the next installment here! And thanks for the offer of your spare bedroom when we visit Disney again! You're so sweet!:goodvibes

I gotta make my way over to Liesa's TR. :) I'm sure her photos have got to be gorgegous!

Oooh, are you going to post your light fixture pics?? Can't wait for those.

Yes I do love seeing/learning about other cultures. I kinda wish they would add more to Epcot. :)

I hope the not very bright upstairs neighbor doesn't cause you anymore problems! If she does, since she KNOWS the machine is leaking, then she should help you clean it up! I think that would be fair, Don't you??

Our bedroom is the only room in the house that has a theme...other than a huge mess...:lmao::rotfl2:

Thank you for the palm trees!! I LOVE it!

She's been doing more laundry. There was a lot of banging noise upstairs yesterday so I am hoping it was that they were installing a new machine. But I do have renter's insurance in case there is a repeat because something tells me if it happens again I won't be so lucky.

I am so relieved you knew those were Palm Trees, I wasn't sure if that was clear. :magnify:

Lets hope she did get a new machine, water damage takes a high toll on everything!

I hope Florida is pretty, sunny and warm today! We went from near 80 yesterday to the fifties today and I am COLD! ((((BRRRR)))),

Happy Sunday! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Okay, Iw asn't too far behind and am now caught up.

First, I love Muppets too--one of Mark's and my must-do's every trip.

Your pictures of the Flower & Garden flowers are absolutely great, as are the fountains you are fond of.

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous that you got to meet Tim, Mel and Ana. I imagine they are just as great in person as they are in Tim's TR's (very slow TR's by the way :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:).

I can understand about you missing work. I would go stir crazy if I didn't do something (even if I do complain about my job from time to time...but that happens after 35 years at the same place).

Happy Monday Judy!! LOL about the palm trees.

Right now at 6:30pm (:scared1: where did the day go??) its 78 degrees. Last night was beautiful out - warm enough to be comfy with shorts with a nice breeze. DF was home again and we were varnishing some wood shelves we got from Ikea to put our plants on the lenai on. My silly cats seem to think its ok to chew on the plants, so I'm hoping that by elevating the planters it'll stop them from chewing on it.

Gotta love how the weather changes so drastically sometimes. I'm trying to send some Florida sunshine rays your way :beach: - let's see how successful I am with that!! :rotfl:

Hi Kathy!! Yes, I'm taking this very slow. I haven't been Dising as much lately but I am trying to get on here as much as I can. Thank you about the pics.

LOL, yes Tim and family are soooo sweet. I hope you do get to meet him one day. Heck, I think he should take a weekend trip to Chicago during the summer, possibly join in that Dismeet you may have going on. That would be a nice idea. :goodvibes

Wow 35 years at the same job, that is impressive. You don't see too many people putting in that amount of time into a job anymore. You must really like the place.

You were VERY successful Thank you!! It was back to 83 degrees yesterday! Rachel said she was actually hot while we took a walk. We actually parked a LONG way frm her doctor's appointment and strolled in slowly...although she was so hot by the time we got there, I was kind of wishing we had parked a bit closer. :lmao:

Oh how I wish I had a lenai to lounge on! (LOVE IT ) I hope your little kitty leaves your plants alone! AND that the varnishing went well! :flower3:

SOOOOOOOO, any big plans for tomorrow??? :rolleyes1

SMILE CRISSY!!!!

I love that!!! How cute!! Thank you so much Judy!! I truely needed that like you wouldn't believe!!

Sadly no plans for tomorrow. :( DF had requested to have the day off but they scheduled him to work, so it'll be a party of one and two cats. :rotfl: I was debating making some small cupcakes tomorrow.
Although he is off on Friday and I demanded to go to a park. He owes me my hat so I'm guessing it'll be HS but I might ask to go to MK for a bit too. It all depends on what time he gets up (he loves his bed and loves to sleep :rotfl:).

Shame shame on me for slacking. How long does it take me to do a TR for 1 day only about a flower show - apparently a long time!! :rotfl:

According to my pics my next pavillion in which the memory card decided to work was in America. Who did I find here - why the fab 5, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy.

There was a line to take pics in front of Minnie & Mickey so I waited to try to snag a photo off to the side while people were switching around. I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to take a photo of them, I know some people get touchy about that.

IMG_6630.jpg

I was a little upset when I saw this Goofy, at last years F&G they had all of these below topairies at the main entrance, plus a Daisy I'll post later on. I was kind of upset that they used the same topiaries. I understand it makes more sense for Disney but I was hoping all of the displays would be new.

IMG_6626.jpg

Here are the flowers that were placed along the topiaries here

IMG_6627.jpg

Of course Disney had to include their newest princess Rapuznel!! I thought this was really cute. There was a recording playing of Rapuznel singing, the funny thing is a lot of us were standing around to see if she would pop out the window or something. But nope, the recording just keep looping over and over.

IMG_6637.jpg

Off to the side of Rapuznel was another patch of various flowers so that meant more close-up photos! Here is one of my other favorite shots that I took that day. Molly - here's your rose

IMG_6639.jpg

I love that the rose is so clear but the background is kind of fuzzy. :)

I'm not sure what kind of flower this is but it was really pretty

IMG_6641.jpg

And I loved these purpley flowers because the petal edges were cut up

IMG_6640.jpg

continued in next post...

So I continued strolling until I found my favorite Disney princess, Snow White. Growing up my aunt has always told me I was like Snow White because I was good with animals and such a sweet kid. :goodvibes Then they released Beauty and the Beast and she said I was very much like Belle too because I was such a bookworm growing up. I always had a book in my face, maybe thats why I have to wear glasses now. :rotfl:

Now Snow White's display is very hard to capture, its big because it's her and all of the 7 dwarves. The only way to get them all is to stand way back but naturally everyone wants to stand up front and its an endless battle of waiting. I tried to get them all but I wa able to get Snow White with a dwarf or two.

IMG_6648.jpg

A close up of Snow White ( I love her!)

IMG_6647.jpg

I had posted the above picture of Snow White on facebook for my family and friends to see and one of my friends had said Snow White gave her the creeps. I'm guessing its because she has no eyes. Which I thought was odd because the dwarves have eyes. :confused3 Check out Doc below

IMG_6646.jpg

Snow White was actually out taking photos and signing autographs when I was there. I was sooo tempted to stand on line and get a photo but I still had a lot of area to check out and figured I'd just get her next time.

Off I continued to walk when I found the Lion King characters. I love when the topiaries are colorful

IMG_6653.jpg

IMG_6651.jpg

And poor colorless Pumbaa :(

IMG_6652.jpg

Coming up - the chinese zodiac! Be back shortly....

Right outside the China Pavilion was another beautiful rose. It was such a pretty shade of a light pink, if I had to describe the shade in a word it would have to be delicate.

IMG_6654.jpg

I really enjoyed what they did for the China pavilion. Instead of topiaries they made each of the animal of the Chinese zodiac. The fun part was identifying the different types of seeds or other natural items they used such as star anise, kernels of corn, I believe I spotted some coffee beans too. I have to wonder how long it took to put these animals together. They were really, really awesome!

First up is the Monkey! Why? Because I was born in the year of the Monkey. :)

IMG_6656.jpg

The goat. Check out his middle, they made a star anise out of the other items.

IMG_6657.jpg

The cute horse. He has a star anise in his middle.

IMG_6658.jpg

S-s-s-s-nake!!

IMG_6660.jpg

The Dragon. He was my favorite of them all. I made sure I took the picture head on for him because I felt it made him look more fierce.

IMG_6663.jpg

Here little piggy…

IMG_6670.jpg

The cutest little bunny

IMG_6671.jpg

The Ox. Look at the details on him!

IMG_6673.jpg

Eeek a Rat!! Well he’s a cute rat at least.

IMG_6674.jpg

The Tiger. He reminded me of my cat Hemingway.

IMG_6676.jpg

Now China did have a topiary, it was right outside the windows of the Nine Dragons restaurant. Which if you haven’t tried them, they are de-li-cious! We ate there for Valentine’s Day when my brother was here for a visit. They sat us down without a reservation (which we were shocked) the waiter was fantastic and so nice to us and the food was yumm-o. But isn’t this panda just the cutest?

IMG_6677.jpg

Norway had the nicest topiary in the bunch. He was standing there with a big smile on his face and waving.

IMG_6680.jpg

Mexico’s topiary I feel by far was the prettiest and most unique. I don’t even know if I would call it a topiary. I’m leaving the picture big on this one so you can see it. When I was showing it to my DF I had explained to him that I believe the parrots are made out of some tree bark. He had to take a second glance to notice it.

IMG_6684.jpg

Up next Future World and a giant Hidden Mickey!! (perhaps I’ll post this later on tonight, who knows?)

Whoa Crissy, lots of udpates here!:thumbsup2

Oh, I'm loving, just loving all these gorgeous pics you took! And a rose! Look how beautiful it is, all opened and colorful!
IMG_6639.jpg

These little beauties are stunning! They remind me of something Tinkerbell and her fairy friends would use to drink out of or something.
IMG_6641.jpg

I love the Snow White and dwarves topiaries! I suppose it is odd though that she has no face while the dwarves do? Weird. But still lovely!

Ahhh, another lovely rose! It is delicate, just as you said. I'd name it blush.
IMG_6654.jpg

The Chinese Zodiac is amazing! How creative! I'd have taken probably a million pics of it. So much detail, I love it!

And the panda is adorable. This is so fun Crissy, it's like having a personal tour through the F&G festival! Thank you!:goodvibes

You are so welcome Molly! I'm enjoying sharing these photos with you all. Well if you can't come for F&G, its nice to have a personal tour on here. :)
