Since booking my flights, all I want to do is PLAN! I know it's ridiculous as we have more than 18 months before we go. I have nobody to share my Disney addiction with at home - the kids don't know we are going and DH only 'half listens'.

Is it wrong that I have already shortlisted ADRs?:rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl: A husband who only half listens! I thought i was the only one :rotfl:

We didn't tell our kids once until the morning of the flight. We got round the problem of where they wanted to eat and go by having the "Where were you favourites?" conversation! That gave us an idea of our must dos,so we could plan as normal.
As for is it wrong you've already shortlisted, heck no! We shortlist while we're still there:goodvibes

Yes, our plan is to tell the kids the morning of the flight. The younger two said they wanted it to be a surprise like last time. I constantly ask, 'Would you do BBB again? 'Would you eat at Chef Mickey's?' lol

My DH has zero interest in planning, although he does perk up if I mention restaurant menus but he can only sustain that concentration for about 10 minutes before zoning out on me. :)

Definitely not! I have one too! We've agreed I will run the shortlist through with him before I have to book our ADRs, but he's really not interested in details! (Apart from giving me the instruction that he didn't want to be taken for sushi, which I knew anyway).

I have told him that we will be doing a few character meals as a compromise, so I don't have to make him queue up for meet and greets at other times! ;)

If I knew WDW better, I'd have had a shortlist from the moment we booked. 18 months out sound completely reasonable to me! ;)

Oh you're in the right place and in good company!

Lol, my DH was dragged along to quite a few character meals. He wants somewhere that does good steak (Rose and Crown last time) and he looked disappointed that dinner at 'Ohana wasn't on the ADR list.

Oh you're in the right place and in good company!

Thank goodness, or I would be sitting in the dark rocking in my light-up Minnie Mouse ears.

bless them...

I also have 10 minutes too before he zones out and stops listening - this is shortened when DD16 is involved and brings out the disney folder of laminated maps, menus and guides!

Although, i did discover he is a closet planner... I looked at our YouTube history and saw over 5 hours worth of Disney Cruise videos he had been watching whilst I was at work!

Hi Joolz, we are going back on 30th Oct this year to get the Halloween & Christmas seasons again but this time staying in a 1 bed at OKW, we haven't stayed here before! I started a chart tonight to get an idea of a plan , can't wait! Want to book for next May too but will wait to see if disney do the free dining and gift card offer! :)

I wish I had someone who had laminated maps to plan with lol. My DH was like this with the each of my pregnancies - it didn't become 'real' until the day of the birth lol. It's a good job I am a compulsive planner.

Oh I am jealous - I loved that time of year but we have to go in August. You will love the 1 bed at OKW - so much space and a balcony too!:thumbsup2

I hear you!

Im planning our October holiday and now we're adding in a cruise, I said Id let DBF pick our hotel for the 2 nights after the cruise.

I'd already shortlisted the list for him and he just said the 'first one'! Luckily for me its was AKL and Id quite like to try it for a couple of night but he didn't even read the list or consider the others! :rotfl2:

I then suggested making a 'rough' plan, and he just said you can plan it all, I'll do whatever you want! :cool1:

So thats Cinderalla's Castle, Chef Mickeys, Akershus then!

Yeah, another zoning out DH here too :lmao:. The problem with mine is, when we go somewhere where he hasn't helped plan (and believe me, I do ask him time and time again), he always has something to say about how I've done it, how he would have done something differently which I find a little irritating . I've already told him if he doesn't want to get involved in the planning, he will need to bite his tongue and follow my plan :rotfl2:.

Laminated maps - oooh that sounds great ;).

Yes, I too am 18 months out and planning, and have a shortlist of ADRs already :rotfl2:.

I think there must be a name for our disorder :upsidedow.

My defence is, those that don't plan WDW, don't reap the rewards of a stress free holiday :rolleyes1. At least that's what the 'Unofficial guide' keeps chanting. Yep, I've bought it and am wading (literally!) through it already. DH thinks I've lost the plot properly :scared:.

So, no, Joolz - you are in good company

yep another one here with a husband with the attention span of a goldfish for planning Disney.:rotfl:

He got a tad animated last night when I did our magic bands.

Tonight I suggested maybe booking our car parking and all I got was 'leave it for a bit' that was that!

We are going to York in February for our 20th anniversary, so we aren't talking that many weeks away and still I can't get him into planning mode!

But as long as he wants to keep on going to WDW than I am ok with his lack of interest before hand:goodvibes

Seems like we are all married to the same bloke ;)

Or could it be that we are all control freaks and obsessive planners? I have to admit, if DH tried to 'help' with the planning, I wouldn't like it lol. I just want him to LISTEN and be as excited as I am.

After 25 years together, he must know he has no say in anything and has just given up. :lmao:

I think you may be right here ;) I could have written that exact statement about myself and my DH :rotfl2:.

Lol - I'm the same spending hours looking at wdw site, reading forums and planning what I want to do :-)

My DH dosn't even know what day we go away

He makes me laugh sometimes as I hear him on the phone "yes I go away 6th" next conversation he tells someone "I go away on the 8th" he doesn't have a scooby doo!!!!!! (I've even used polite words there but it rhymes with it ;))

And as for knowing any plans :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Then he has the cheek to say to me "are you on that DIS again" :lmao:

I'm finding it really hard to concentrate on anything else but planning! Just think though we are having to plan 14 (for most!) whole day's entertainment/food etc and how to get the most value for money. Just think how much planning went into our wedding and that was just 1 day! :lmao:

Thank goodness we all speak the same 'language' on here.

Ladies...LET'S PLAN!!:cool1::banana::cool1:

I have already set up my spreadsheet & I haven't even confirmed my dates or got the park hours yet!!

I'm considering paying for the touring plans subscription? Has anyone else used it? Is it worth it? X
