We made it through the day just fine. Schools in Huntsville let out early. I was glad to hear that Brooklynn was at Jill's school with her by midday.
Our schools will not close in a case like this, as they/we feel that the kids are safer in the structurally sound buildings with competent adults. Too many of our kids could have possibly been alone or with teenage siblings or in other not ideal situations if school had been called off or let go early. Elementary schools let out just minutes before the bad stuff hit. We got home safely, and the worst part for us personally happened just a few minutes later. When buses arrived at middle schools, they would not dismiss them. Most of them were there until a little after 5.
It seems to have all died down now. We were among the fortunate ones. Thoughts and prayers for those who had loss or damage to people an property throughout the country.
Thanks to all who sent text, DIS, and FB messages of concern for us. You guys are awesome. We hope all of you are safe at home, as well.
