All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

Hey there! I am still plugging along!

I have to say I have NEVER been into Art of Disney. I thought it was just the home for all the easily breakable really expensive stuff!!! Though the pillows and the other Mary Blair style items really are cute!! I wonder if they will still have that there these days... Anyhow, I guess I will venture in this time!!

Hope you are having a good summer so far! Nice to not have the kids I am sure! I still have another week and a bit...

But vacation is coming up quick!!!

After the girls had seen their friends, we decided it was time for some lunch.

John and I picked up Japanese, but then we all went to America to get the others their food and to eat there.

Here is my Japanese lunch,

and here's where we ate in America.

IMG_8756.jpg

I didn't take a picture of the burgers and chicken the girls got.

After food, I stayed with the girls at the America Kidcot Stop while Jill and John went to shop - in Germany, I think it was.

Who says I never get a picture of myself???

Head, camera, hand - that is clearly me.

Sweet little hands very busy at work.

For the pre-show, you get to watch a squirrel who is not at all afraid of humans.

Then comes the main attraction.

That's it for now. Happy Saturday, all!

Your food from Japan does look delish!!

What a wonderful day so far! I really enjoy seeing Disney in all its holiday glory!!! What a beautiful site!!!

There are plenty of breakables. We usually either take turns going in while one person sits with the girls, or we have them in the strollers and keep a watchful eye out. Brooklynn wouldn't reach for anything, but Bella might.

Jill is looking at some of the Small World stuff for a possibility for the nursery. At first, she thought that was what she would use, but then she looked at how expensive some of it is, so now she is looking at other possibilties, like Precious Moments Disney, Jim Shore, etc. She said she's going to look around and just see what hits her when she is down there this time.

I have had one week of summer break so far. One half day was spent at school. This coming week, I will be at workshops three days. After that, I don't have to think school thoughts until the 20th of July, when the next workshop is. :thumbsup2

Your lunch from Japan looks great!! I wish I were in WS today!! Have a great Saturday! :goodvibes

Next time I eat there, I may try the beef udon. :)
We're going to try orange chicken from Lotus Blossom this trip, too.

I think going to WDW for Christmas every other year would keep it fun and exciting. It is very cool, but I think if we went every year, we would not appreciate or enjoy it as much. If Jill says yes to 2013, I'll be ready to go again. It was nice to have a small Christmas as home and then take off for Disney World. A trip is a lot better than an excessive amount of toys all over the house, in my opinion.

After a very long absence I am finally all caught up on your report! And it looks like just in time for the next trip! haha

Once again we just missed eachother. I was in Epcot for NYE!!! haha
I'm sure one day we'll finally bump into each other.

Looking forward to reading the conclusion of this trip!

Disney squirrels are kind of like the little guys in the Boston Commons. They will come right up to you and take food out of your hand, or act like little dogs and observe you eating, and come take anything that falls to the ground.

Nice job getting a picture of the temple without anyone in front! That's my mom's favorite part of WS. :)

Love that stuff in the Art of Disney store. We always go in the one at HS but don't think we've ever been in the one at DTD. Will have to go in there this trip! We have 18 days until we leave for Vero...goodness I need it. The never ending school year still has 10 days to go and, as a bonus, they have moved a student in my room for these last two weeks that has some severe emotional/behavioral issues.:sad2: I'll be really ready by the end!

Sorry about the bus issue. We dealt with that when we stayed at Beach Club as we had flown that trip. Worst bus service we've ever had in all our stays.

I bought some earrings and a bracelet from that bead place. I don't think Ellie or I have ever worn either thing but I was moved by the story and felt like it was a great cause. I should try to find them and give them to someone who will wear them!!

Have a fantastic weekend! Hopefully your workshops will be fun this week and something you can actually use next year!

I have a couple of necklaces from the bead place. I liked the story and the fact that I would be wearing a true piece of Disney...
Maybe you should get them out and WEAR them!!!

MeMom, the pics of the girls with Snow White are beyond fabulous!
Were you just dying of excitement when it all occurred?

I absolutely love the expression on Bella's face as she is raising her Duffy-on-a-stick "flag"! :rotfl: That is too precious! The pictures of the girls with the characters are wonderful! Very sweet!

Three weeks away from the next trip! :woohoo:

You should have come over to the Poly beach! You could have joined in the singing and dancing and glow ring tossing.
:cool1:

Disney squirrels grow up seeing tons of people every day, so they don't develop that fear. Because they get so close, I worry a little about kids trying to pick them up - for the sake of the kids and the squirrels.

I remember you saying that your mom liked that place. I'd like to delve into the story behind that artwork.

Sorry about your new student. Having a kid like that makes for long days. ::yes::

Until I was writing about the bus issue, I had forgotten that we that other long wait trying to leave Beach Club one time.

Tomorrow's workshop is about Core Curriculum, and the other two are on SIOP, which is the new buzz phrase for this year. I'll let you know what it means later this week.

I love pretty bracelets and necklaces, but I can't wear anything on my neck or arms any more. I feel locked up. I have looked at those several times just for looking purposes, but I don't know why it has never hit me to buy some earrings! (Is there a hit yourself in the head smiley?) I am putting those high on my souvenir list for this trip. ::yes::

I am totally getting some earrings this time! I think the necklaces and bracelets are so pretty and colorful, and none of the items are very expensive.

Just another day with a Disney Princess. No big deal. ;)

She's a mess! Put whatever you want on a stick and it will be raised in all its glory!

She's a silly one!

Did you notice that the girls had given Snow White a red flower? That was their new thing - finding a flower on the ground to give to the characters.

I saw that Snow White was holding a flower. I love that they started doing that!

Harper almost picked everyone of Tiana's flowers when we took her a year ago. I would tell her no, then the next time I would look at her she was back at it. I'd love to say she was trying to dead-head them but honestly, she wasn't minding.....

I'm glad that your girls find their gifts on the ground and not in the flowerpots!

Brooklynn has always enjoyed picking up flowers, pinecones, sticks, etc. on our trips. When she and I were in WDW in October, she picked up all kinds of goodies. I sent Jill a phone picture of her bending down looking for fallen flowers and messaged it with 'Enjoying Epcot - one flower at a time'.

So, we're out of World Showcase now, but still in Epcot.

More pictures than you ever want to see of roots and leaves, right? ;)

And that's it for now. I am going to go watch a few episodes of an old Ozzie and Harriet DVD I picked up (cheap) this weekend. It will be very nostalgic. I have to admit, I had quite a crush on that cute Ricky Nelson. :lovestruc So, off to turn the clock back about 40+ years. :goodvibes

I love love love Living with the Land and NEVER get tired of it!!! One of my fave experiences!!!!

GREAT pictures from Living with the Land...I love that ride! It's fun to look for changes in what is being grown, each time I ride! :goodvibes

I love seeing all the Living with the Land pictures! I see that as a very underrated ride. A lot of people seem to think that looking at plants on their vacation would be boring. :confused3 It's so much more fun than it looks! That being said, I'd never complain about the short waits to ride it. :rotfl:
