I think they just replied to all the ancient letters generically or something. If they look back in my history 2-3 told me they reccommended my for the job. I don't understand. I help new people, heck, I even give them stuff. I guess VMK just has it out for me.... I answered all the stupid questions correctly. what do i need to learn?

Dark, i applied the same day as you remember? Still nothing lol. So hey, at least you got a response, albeit not the one you wanted. But hey, if they ever actually offered it to me, i really dont know what I'd do. Probably turn em' down. I have far too much fun being me, and that really doesnt fit the CL mold.

The funny part is, I went into a few rooms last night, where I was the
only person without a "CL" title. I felt like "one of these people, is not
like the others, one of these people, doesn't belong" kind of moments. LOL!

Mal- just go on and say you live near DL or WDW- that will take care of that title for you...

and from past similar situations you should be able to remain Maltoo as they just remove the badge and CL from the name of others.

You get to keep your original name if someone else hasn't taken it.I have asked VMK_Babs to keep my name reserved in case I would ever wat to quit.

Sorry to hear you were turned down Dark. You were one of the first people to help me when I first came to VMK. Keep trying if you really want CL.

Ok I applied for CL yesterday just to see if I would get a response and this morning there was a message from VMK. There is a list of questions to answer, my question is how detailed do I get in my response.

But during the "no CL's being approved" period, I realized that I have a lot of fun doing things that would probably get me reported if I were a CL. Of course, I'm not doing anything bad or indecent, but mostly just being a smart as...uh...alec. Some of the younger players might view what I'm saying or doing as being mean, when it's really not intended that way.

As it is now, I can help people, give advice, give stuff away, etc. without being under the invisible scrutiny of some player with a misperceived conception of what a CL really is.

But this doesn't mean I won't change my mind and apply down the road. Got to leave the door open a little.

I want to take the "CL" away from my name but again, I have grown to like FrontierSuzy despite how much I HATED it at first. I would be afraid to lose that title, so like Mal, I keep it.

Please, please, please don't take that the wrong way. I have been hearing and seeing of alot of CLs sucking up to staff for stuff, then being jerks to other players. No dis CL is like that, actually, no one on dis is like that.

Thanks for clearing that up, Dark. I know you're upset about not getting that title, but it took me 2 tries to get mine. Took another month after being approved to actually receive the badge and title change! Bet you don't have THAT problem! LOL
My suggestion is to wait a week or so and re-submit the application. I think they are so far behind on them that they are emailing canned responses now.
As far as the "suck-ups", I don't consider myself to be one, however I have met quite a few! Ignore them. Easy enough to do, seen as how they are only ever found sitting in Yavn's or a tester's room!

That stinks dark, but there will be another aplication period. I will probably never try for CL. From what I've heard, the responses can be extravagently dissapointing if you get one at all, and you get less freedom. I help people out, but I want to be able to have a bit of freedom when I reply to someone calling another preson a "beach" instead of just saying " Please don't use that language"

Isn't it sad that there are "suck-ups" in a virtual game? What is it that they think they will gain from that?

I just know I have some really nice peeps that are CL's and I hope Dark sometime soon you will become one too. Good Luck to you and keep on trying.

I am so sorry that you didn't get the CL job. I applied last summer and was turned down also, so I know how it feels. I did reapply, but I doubt I will get in this time as well, as many people have applied. But this is the last time I will apply for it. I hope you don't let it get down!
