All About Fixed Weeks (RIV/CCV/AUL/VGF/POLY/TOWER/VHD/FWC Charts)

Just a heads up about FW at VGF2. Unless your week is at least 150 pts you wont be able to purchase. Lots of standard view weeks not available.

I bought a FW at RIV with a new membership that was only 130 points (standard view Studio). All I had to do was to add on an additional contract to make the minimum, taking into account the minimum points per contract. Would they not let you do that at VGF2?

My understanding is that this has changed with GF2. They now only allow FWs that have a minimum of 150 points for new members which is why several FWs are not available to them.

Thank you both!!

Awesome!
Just to (hopefully) clarify things for you, your UY begins on the first of the month. So points that are in a March UY would be "current" points for a stay that occurs anytime from March 1 of a given year through the night of February 28 (29 in Leap Year) of the next year. IOW, if you canceled your FW at least 31 days before checkin, you'd have until end of February the following year to use those points. This thread should help in furthering understanding of UY.

Edited to fix date of end of UY. Thanks, @CarolMN!

generally DVC will insist that a March FW have a March UY. This has the benefit that cancelling it will afford you the full time to use as floating points. They can override this if your UY is different but in your case it is not. Best of luck!
I’m not sure about this comment.

I have a Poly Nov fixed week with a June UY.

I had asked for a June UY because of how it fell to get the previous year’s points. My guide never questioned my request for a different UY than my fixed week.

I think they will default you to the same use month as your fixed week unless you request otherwise which isn’t the same as insisting. At least they didn’t insist in my case, they just shrugged and gave me what I wanted.

She meant from "March 1 through the following February 28 (29 in leap years)", and " until the end of the following February".

In my case they needed “to get approval” to generate a FW49 with an Oct UY, so I had to insist. Perhaps this is an inconsistent thing from guide to guide. 🤷🏻‍♂️

OMG - where was my brain? I even had coffee this morning! Thanks, and I'll fix my post. Now we all know why I don't do anything with our points without using my spreadsheet.

This is exactly what we did, but my guide was fine with it and just made it happen. She initially suggested a December UY, but I asked for October, in case was want to add-on the week prior to week 49 (the last week of November), and she said "no problem".

DVC isnt even listing for sale any FW under 150 pts. So your scenario not possible with VGF2.

They are not allowing this with VGF....you must purchase a FW that, is 150 or more. I think it was to avoid having to do what they were doing with those small contracts. As mentioned, there are many weeks during the year that SV rooms are not available.

It also may be so that they leave those very popular weeks that are less for booking for all.

If we purchased a 180 point contact … and the FW was 142 points (for example) wouldn’t that satisfy the requirements?
Thanks

From all reports, the FW has to be 150 or more. There is a post somewhere that has the FW chart on it. I am trying to find it and when I do I will post.

ETA: Here is the FW chart...these are what is available for purchase...

That comment matches my experience as well. They will encourage the UY be the same as the month the fixed week is in. If you already own then they will encourage it be the one closest to that or even to get a new UY. As with everything if you insist they will capitulate on the UY. Maybe your guide wasn't trained on the rigamarole to put owners thru before finally setting things up as you wanted. ;)

It looks like they are selling all the March fixed weeks. Likely as that's a high enough point time that it is over the 150 minimum threshold they've established for the VGF resort studios.

So I have posted new Fixed Week Point charts for 3 resorts.

It looks like the RIV point requirements actually went up recently compared to the original sales chart. I am not exactly sure what it is about.

So it looks like they got rid of any options for under 150 points at RIV as well. Darn, I was hoping to buy a September sv studio FW. My 163 October FW now costs over 190 points! I guess buying that when I did was a good move !

Spoke with DVC this morning. I was told at VGF fixed weeks for the Deluxe Studios are not longer being offered. Resort Studios yes --- Deluxe Studios no.

Likely because DVC is only selling VGF2.0 points so they can't give you a fixed week on VGF1.0

I suspect once VGF2.0 sells out they would reopen access to VGF1.0 FW since it seems sold out resorts do allow you to purchase FW.
