All About Fixed Weeks (RIV/CCV/AUL/VGF/POLY/TOWER/VHD/FWC Charts)

So if you bought a new contract now for only 140 pts and sold your two back when the limit was only 50 pts you would lose your perks.
If I sell the grandfathered points I lose the membership extra benefits. I then would need to get to whatever the current threshold is again to regain the benefits. If a person has a grandfathered 25 direct they’re probably better off just keeping it for duration. That way they can always downsize at some point in the future and still have benefits. Once the grandfathered points are gone, the member is no longer grandfathered.

Maybe I’m just missing it but I don’t see a list of required minimum points purchase for benefits per year.
The article reports the history of member benefits including purchase requirements. It didn’t happen in a way that lends itself to tabular format. Sorry, I don’t know of a resource for you.

Not vetted but according to my memory- 25 direct was the number till sometime in 2017? I think it jumped to 75 direct and then 100 in 2019? Then 125 direct around 2020 and now 150 in 2021. I remember purchasing 25 direct and the savings for our family annual passes alone pretty much paid for the contract.

0 direct were required until April 4 2016. Then they required that members have direct points for blue card so that became the 25 point requirement because you couldn't buy less from Disney. Feb 25 2018 it went to 75 points. Sept 17, 2019 it went to 100 pts. Oct 19, 2020 it went to 125. June 3, 2021 it went to 150.

Thank you!! So basically any denomination of points per contract prior to April 4, 2016 all qualify for blue card member benefits. NEW points purchased after that 4/4/16 ( and subsequent dates thereafter) are held to the minimum at the time of purchase for blue card benefits. Thanks again!!

Are there fixed weeks in BLT or PVB? If yes, would be those available only through direct purchase?
Thanks

Not at BLT. PVB does have fixed weeks though. You do run across fixed weeks periodically on resale but it has to be a contract that was originally purchased as a fixed week. They were first sold at Aulani and then have been available for all resorts built after that - VGF, PVB, CCV and now Riviera.

There is for POLY not for BLT. You can inquire if they are still selling them direct and for resale its very unlikely you will see one since they were so rare in the past.

Check the link in my signature and I have consolidated all fixed weeks charts together including POLY.

I'm assuming the answer lies somewhere within these 16 pages :rolleyes1 .... but I'm hoping someone can answer this question.

We have a March UY, and we're thinking of buying a fixed week during March break (here in Canada).

With DVC rules, would March be the WORST month to choose for a March break fixed week (because our points expire at that the end of the month if we choose to cancel our resi), or is this in fact the BEST fixed week period because our March UY points do not expire until the following year, on March 1?

Can someone please let us know? .... we can certainly ask our guide (whoever that will be :tilt: ) but I wanted to get input on the board.

Who knew buying direct could be so much fun??? :duck::crazy:
Thank you!

Generally DVC will default that a March FW have a March UY. This has the benefit that cancelling it will afford you the full time to use as floating points. They can override this if your UY is different or you request otherwise but in your case it is not. Best of luck!

Just a heads up about FW at VGF2. Unless your week is at least 150 pts you wont be able to purchase. Lots of standard view weeks not available.
