Day 2, Part One. The End of the Beginning!
We walked through the hub on our way out and I finally remembered to take some pictures the miniature character statues around the border. They are so darn cute and I mean to take them every time but always seem to forget. I think Pinocchio, Chip & Dale and Minnie are my favourites.
Everyone was heading toward the Main Street exit. Because the park had just closed, we didnt feel any need to rush out of the park just to wait in line at the bus stop so we decided we would make a stop at the Main Street Bakery.
We had an early morning the next day, so we bought a cinnamon bun to split for breakfast. Lucky us, there were only two left and we got the second to last one. There was a huge line behind us so I felt kind of bad taking it, but once we dug into it in the morning, I had no regrets! By the time wed lined up at the cash and paid it was almost half an hour after park closing so we headed to the buses. We got there just in the nick of time and there was a bus just about to pull away when we got there. The bus was packed and it was standing room only. I had the plastic container the cinnamon bun was in open a little to let the heat out and the smell of cinnamon and icing was so strong that everyone around us was commenting on it! One person even suggested splitting it amongst the rest of the passengers but we werent prepared to give it up! LOL
Once we were back at ASMu, my mom went to the food court to get us some lemonade in our refillable mugs while I snapped a few more pictures of the room. This would be our last night as ASMu so I wanted to get a few final shots.
I showered quickly, brushed my teeth and wrote a little bit in my TR journal and I think I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I felt a little bit bad because my mom let me have the double bed while she took the pull out couch and I was hoping she wouldnt be terribly uncomfortable. It turned out once we woke up in the morning, she said it was the most comfortable bed shed ever slept in. A pullout couch at a value resort. Go figure!
We were awoken at 7:00am by the Celebrate You song instead of Stitch doing the wakeup call which was a welcome surprise to us. I definitely prefer the new version!
Since I had showered the night before, I quickly straightened my hair and did my makeup while my mom showered. When Im at Disney I am super quick at getting ready in the morning! Breakfast was easy since I just microwaved the cinnamon bun wed bought the night before and it was delicious even the next morning. YUM!!!!
It was really great not to have to worry about breakfast when we had so much to do that morning. Very convenient!
My mom still wasnt ready for the day yet (she had to blowdry and straighten her hair) and I was getting a little but impatient so I walked out to the hallway and took some pictures. We were in such a lovely, quiet area!
When I got back inside she still wasnt ready so I flipped on the TV and found Stacey. If you havent already heard, her new show is now Must Do Disney and I am so bummed out about it. Its nowhere near as good as the old one. They took out a bunch of classic lines and she doesnt have that special Stacey pep. I hope they change it back!
After about 10 minutes my mom was finally done with her hair and makeup so we decided to explore the resort a little before dropping our luggage off for the luggage transfer.
It was early enough in the morning that there was nobody in the pool. It was hot already that day and the pool was looking pretty tempting!
The jazz section looked cool and I loved the fountain and landscaping they had in the middle. This section would definitely be my second choice after the Calypso buildings.
Piano pool!
Broadway was really cute, but a bit far away from the main building. The theming was awesome though! I really got into the spirit for this photo. I dont have any props, so youll just have to imagine me wearing a cane and top hat!
My mom really wanted a picture of me in front of the fountain, so I obliged. Youll notice as we go with this TR that I dont have a camera shy bone in my body! LOL
On our way back to the main building, we stopped off at our room and grabbed our luggage which as already packed and ready to go. I couldnt believe our time at All Star Music was already over. Goodbye, family suite! I have to say though, I wasnt at all upset I was really looking forward to the Yacht Club!
The luggage transfer was super easy. We wheeled our bags out to luggage services and they took our names and information, slapped tags on our suitcases and we were on our way to the buses. They even took our carry on luggage and we were out of there within 5 minutes. It was great!! The luggage transfer went really smoothly on the other end, too.
Now that everything had been taken care of at ASMu, we were free to enjoy our day at Epcot! It was about 9:00 at this point so we missed rope drop by a bit but it was worth the sleep in. We were both well rested and ready to take on the day!
As soon as we got to the bus stop, a bus pulled up. Great timing! We forgot to get a picture of the Magic Kingdom bus the night before, so we made sure we got one with the Epcot bus.
We were on our way to Epcot. It was our first full day in the parks, we were checking into the Yacht Club that day and we had a dinner ADR at Teppan Edo. The sun was shining and there was barely a cloud in the sky. I could just tell it was going to be a perfect day!
