All Aboard! The Happiest TR That Ever Sailed ~May 1-9~ Ice cream for dinner! 6/20

Day 2, Part One. The End of the Beginning!

We walked through the hub on our way out and I finally remembered to take some pictures the miniature character statues around the border. They are so darn cute and I mean to take them every time but always seem to forget. I think Pinocchio, Chip & Dale and Minnie are my favourites.

Everyone was heading toward the Main Street exit. Because the park had just closed, we didn’t feel any need to rush out of the park just to wait in line at the bus stop so we decided we would make a stop at the Main Street Bakery.

We had an early morning the next day, so we bought a cinnamon bun to split for breakfast. Lucky us, there were only two left and we got the second to last one. There was a huge line behind us so I felt kind of bad taking it, but once we dug into it in the morning, I had no regrets! By the time we’d lined up at the cash and paid it was almost half an hour after park closing so we headed to the buses. We got there just in the nick of time and there was a bus just about to pull away when we got there. The bus was packed and it was standing room only. I had the plastic container the cinnamon bun was in open a little to let the heat out and the smell of cinnamon and icing was so strong that everyone around us was commenting on it! One person even suggested splitting it amongst the rest of the passengers but we weren’t prepared to give it up! LOL

Once we were back at ASMu, my mom went to the food court to get us some lemonade in our refillable mugs while I snapped a few more pictures of the room. This would be our last night as ASMu so I wanted to get a few final shots.

I showered quickly, brushed my teeth and wrote a little bit in my TR journal and I think I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I felt a little bit bad because my mom let me have the double bed while she took the pull out couch and I was hoping she wouldn’t be terribly uncomfortable. It turned out once we woke up in the morning, she said it was the most comfortable bed she’d ever slept in. A pullout couch at a value resort. Go figure!

We were awoken at 7:00am by the “Celebrate You” song instead of Stitch doing the wakeup call which was a welcome surprise to us. I definitely prefer the new version!

Since I had showered the night before, I quickly straightened my hair and did my makeup while my mom showered. When I’m at Disney I am super quick at getting ready in the morning! Breakfast was easy since I just microwaved the cinnamon bun we’d bought the night before and it was delicious even the next morning. YUM!!!!

ry%3D400

It was really great not to have to worry about breakfast when we had so much to do that morning. Very convenient!

My mom still wasn’t ready for the day yet (she had to blowdry and straighten her hair) and I was getting a little but impatient so I walked out to the hallway and took some pictures. We were in such a lovely, quiet area!

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

When I got back inside she still wasn’t ready so I flipped on the TV and found Stacey. If you haven’t already heard, her new show is now “Must Do Disney” and I am so bummed out about it. It’s nowhere near as good as the old one. They took out a bunch of classic lines and she doesn’t have that special Stacey “pep”. I hope they change it back!

ry%3D400

After about 10 minutes my mom was finally done with her hair and makeup so we decided to explore the resort a little before dropping our luggage off for the luggage transfer.

It was early enough in the morning that there was nobody in the pool. It was hot already that day and the pool was looking pretty tempting!

ry%3D400

The jazz section looked cool and I loved the fountain and landscaping they had in the middle. This section would definitely be my second choice after the Calypso buildings.

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

ry%3D400

Piano pool!

ry%3D400

Broadway was really cute, but a bit far away from the main building. The theming was awesome though! I really got into the spirit for this photo. I don’t have any props, so you’ll just have to imagine me wearing a cane and top hat!

ry%3D400

My mom really wanted a picture of me in front of the fountain, so I obliged. You’ll notice as we go with this TR that I don’t have a camera shy bone in my body! LOL

ry%3D400

On our way back to the main building, we stopped off at our room and grabbed our luggage which as already packed and ready to go. I couldn’t believe our time at All Star Music was already over. Goodbye, family suite! I have to say though, I wasn’t at all upset… I was really looking forward to the Yacht Club!

The luggage transfer was super easy. We wheeled our bags out to luggage services and they took our names and information, slapped tags on our suitcases and we were on our way to the buses. They even took our carry on luggage and we were out of there within 5 minutes. It was great!! The luggage transfer went really smoothly on the other end, too.

Now that everything had been taken care of at ASMu, we were free to enjoy our day at Epcot! It was about 9:00 at this point so we missed rope drop by a bit but it was worth the sleep in. We were both well rested and ready to take on the day!

As soon as we got to the bus stop, a bus pulled up. Great timing! We forgot to get a picture of the Magic Kingdom bus the night before, so we made sure we got one with the Epcot bus.

ry%3D400

We were on our way to Epcot. It was our first full day in the parks, we were checking into the Yacht Club that day and we had a dinner ADR at Teppan Edo. The sun was shining and there was barely a cloud in the sky. I could just tell it was going to be a perfect day!

I've watched the new "Must Do Disney" on youtube, and I've decided we need to start a petition to get it changed back to the other Stacey!

By the way, love your outfit. :thumbsup2 I remember helping with that one!

Your pictures have made me even more excited for my stay at ASMu! Yay!

I love your outfit, you look so cute! I think I am going to try that trick to get some snacks for breakfast in the mornings. It's a good way to experience even more Disney treats. :rotfl:

I'm all caught up!

Lovely pics! I like to see how people view the same things differently. I'm glad you had a good first day at MK.

Our first full day was MK, too. The castle is quite magical. I can't wait to gt back and do the Keys to th Kingdom tour.

catching up!!

Looks like your MK evening was so great! :wizard:

I'm glad the resort transfer didn't seem to be a problem. :thumbsup2

Your pictures are so great!!

I can't wait to read about EPCOT! :yay:

First of all, I love your outfit. Super cute. YAY!!! You're at Epcot! I can't wait to hear all about it. And I'm excited to see pictures of the Yacht Club. I hope you liked Teppan Edo--it's one of my favorites!!

Great pre-planning for breakfast.

All those pictures of the family suite brought back memories. I slept on the pull out ottomen one night and that was super comfy too so I don't doubt your Mom enjoyed the couch.

Can't wait to hear how Epcot went! popcorn::

I have the update written, I just can't get Shutterfly to upload the darn pictures! :headache:

I agree completely! And you might recognize a few more outfits.;)

Exactly, you really need a strategy to fit in as much Disney food as possible.:rotfl:

ASMu was really fun!

The Keys to the Kingdom tour was GREAT. I'll write about it thoroughly in a future update but I would highly recommend it.

catching up!!

I'm glad the resort transfer didn't seem to be a problem. :thumbsup2

Your pictures are so great!!

I can't wait to read about EPCOT! :yay:

The resort transfer wasn't a problem at all! I'd read a few horror stories so I was a little bit nervous beforehand, but it was so easy that I think all our future trips will be split stays.

First of all, I love your outfit. Super cute. YAY!!! You're at Epcot! I can't wait to hear all about it. And I'm excited to see pictures of the Yacht Club. I hope you liked Teppan Edo--it's one of my favorites!!

MMM we LOVED Teppan Edo! It was my mom's favourite meal of the trip, I think. And wait till you see the YC, it was so beautiful.

LOVE this picture!!! You've sold me on that camera. I think I'm going to head to Best Buy this week to get it. :thumbsup2

Oh, and I agree about the "Must Do Disney" thing. We all need to protest!!!

Yay, I'm so glad you decided on my camera. We're camera twins now! Woo hoo!

And I think you and tinkgurl should head up the protest LOL.

[Insert drooling smilie face here.] Great update! Looks like your trip started off right! Can't wait to read about Epcot and Yacht Club!

I can't wait to show you guys our Epcot day! Just waiting on the photo uploads. And mmm that cinnamon bun tasted even better than it looks!

Great pre-planning for breakfast.

All those pictures of the family suite brought back memories. I slept on the pull out ottomen one night and that was super comfy too so I don't doubt your Mom enjoyed the couch.

I was feeling so guilty with her sleeping on the couch but I should have known Disney wouldn't give their guests bad beds LOL. We never did get to test out the ottoman so I'm glad to hear it was comfy too!

I'm going to REALLY try to get the next update done today. I keep trying to upload the photos to shutterfly.com and I keep getting a page load error. I don't know what that means? I have a shift at the hospital tonight so I'll try to get it posted before then... if not I hope to get it done once I'm home!

We just had our holiday weekend here in Canada so I'm sorry for the delay. But I had a great time! Ahh... if only every weekend were a long weekend, huh?

Day Two, Part 2.

After a quick bus ride to Epcot, we arrived pretty shortly after rope drop. As soon as we entered the park, we were greeted by this beautiful sight:

ry%3D400

Prince and Princess topiaries! They were just gorgeous. It was really hard to get good pictures because people were going camera crazy and pushing and shoving and standing up on the edge to get in the picture but I did the best I could! Here’s what I captured:

Snow White!
ry%3D400

How cute are the Dwarfs?
ry%3D400

Cinderella and Prince Charming
ry%3D400

Excuse my squinting... the sun was bright and I still hadn't bought a pair of replacement sunglasses!
ry%3D400

Sleeping Beauty and her Prince. I love how they captured so much movement in this one.
ry%3D400

We also took a few quick PP pictures and then headed into the park. There was literally no wait for Spaceship Earth so we decided to hop on.

ry%3D400

Even though it isn’t really a “rope drop” ride, we figured if we rode it early then we wouldn’t have to walk all the way back to the front of the park later. Plus it’s one of my mom’s favourite rides so she was happy to ride it first.

ry%3D400

For the first time ever we managed to hit the right spot on the map! Usually I end up telling the darn thing we’re from New York or Quebec. But we got it right this time and were properly represented as Torontonians! Whoo hoo!

ry%3D400

After Spaceship Earth, I had major ants in my pants to get to Soarin. We didn’t stop at any of the exhibits at the end at all because I was so anxious to grab our fastpasses. I’m a big, big Soarin fan and wanted to get there ASAP.

More beautiful gardens on the way!

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

Finally we had made it!

ry%3D480

Even though Epcot was pretty quiet that morning, the standby line for Soarin was about 40 minutes so we decided to just grab our FPs and ride Living with the Land while we waited.

ry%3D480

This was our first time on Living with the Land and I really enjoyed it! I kind of thought it looked boring when I was younger so we always skipped it. I’m glad we decided to branch out though, because it was really interesting. I will definitely ride it on future trips. Maybe not the most exciting attraction for young kids, but it was relaxing and peaceful and informative and a nice air conditioned break because it was already hot that day!

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

I got a few pictures but was kind of bummed out that they didn’t have any Mickey pumpkins. Hopefully they’ll have grown into the right shape by June!

Pretty sunflowers! They're one of my favourite flowers.
ry%3D400

I thought it was so neat to see cotton growing!
ry%3D480

Lettuce hidden Mickey!
ry%3D480

Since our Fastpasses for Soarin weren’t until noon, we had some more time to kill before returning. There was no wait for Circle of Life but… we decided not to see it. Maybe we’re missing out like we were with Living in the Land before but it’s never appealed to me. So we left the Land pavilion and went to The Seas. Like I told you guys, I’m really not camera shy, so we stopped for another photo op or two…

ry%3D480

ry%3D480

And then we were ready to ride The Seas with Nemo, meet a manatee named Kringle and spend some time hanging out with Crush!

ry%3D480

Hey girl! I'm all caught up! I love all the pics. It looks like you both had a great time. I look forward to hearing more.

I love, love, love your flower and garden festival pics! I never even knew about this festival until I got on Disboards, and I've decided that at some point in my life I need to go for it! And yay for Soarin'!

I'm all caught up and begging for more!! Great start! Are you going to finish this TR before your next trip? I can't believe you're going again in 3 weeks! I'm jealous!;)

Hey there!! So glad you made it over. I can't wait to go read your TR... it's so much fun to see all the May DISers getting back and starting their reports.:goodvibes

I love the Garden Festival pictures! It's so amazing how they can create that.

I know! I would just LOVE to see them create a topiary. I swear I would sit and watch for hours and not say a word. It would make a great behind the scenes experience.

I didn't know about it until I joined the DIS either. It's sooo beautiful. I would love to go back for it again someday! I think May really is a perfect time for WDW.

I'm all caught up and begging for more!! Great start! Are you going to finish this TR before your next trip? I can't believe you're going again in 3 weeks! I'm jealous!;)

Wendy!! HI!

I don't think I'll get this TR finished in time, so what I'm planning on doing is kind of merging them both into one TR. Treat it kind of like a split stay LOL. I know, I can't believe I'll be back so soon! It's such a weird feeling... but a GREAT one!:lovestruc

I absolutely love your Flower & Garden Festival pictures. Up until last year, our vacations always coincided with the F&GF. When we went to Epcot in August, 2008, I was soooo disappointed in the lack of landscaping (with flowers). I guess I didn't truly appreciate the beauty of the festival until we didn't go during that time period.

Hanging around for more.

Your morning in EPCOT is off to a great start! :goodvibes We rode Spaceship Earth first and headed to Soarin too! :thumbsup2 I was hoping to see a mickey anything when we rode the land. No tomatoes, pumpkins, or anything! I hope you'll see something in June!

Your outfit is so cute. :lovestruc

Weren't all the flowers just gorgeous?? Your pictures are great! I feel like I've said that in every reply, but they are! :wizard:

Oh my gosh, those topiaries are gorgeous! Do you know if they'll still be there when I go? I hope so!!!!

Wow, no line for Spaceship Earth?! Good! :thumbsup2 This past trip, there was always a huge line because it had just re-opened with the new changes. I hope the line stays down while we're there too!

Soarin' is so much fun. I just hate walking to it. Seriously, that hill/incline to get into the Land can be exhausting in the heat!

My grandpa LOVES Living with the Land. He's excited about going on that one when they come back with us next year.
