All Aboard! The Happiest TR That Ever Sailed ~May 1-9~ Ice cream for dinner! 6/20

I love MouseGears!

Hm...I haven't tried the food at Morocco!

That walkway looks nice!

I loved the manatees! :lovestruc One has an owie on his/her tail and I was curious to know more about them both, but I couldn't find CM anywhere in the area! :confused3

You and those butterflies crack me up!! :rotfl:

The picture of your mom turned out very well! I had a goal to get a picture of the pink monorail and I could never find it! :thumbsup2

You and Aurora look great! You would make a great princess. princess:

What a great day in EPCOT!

I'm excited for YC check in!! :yay:

Great Updates - I can't wait to hear about checking in at the Yacht club - hopefully it is as magical as ASM... Can't wait to read more about your trip! Loving all the pics - I never remember to keep taking pictures - I take a lot at the beginning but then I get so caught up in just being at Disney that I don't continue to take pics. I hope to be better in September & then again in December.

Can't wait for more...

What a great morning at Epcot! We went to TC to eat one evening, but the line was FOREVER long and not moving, so Mike got mad and said forget it! Maybe next time!! (He's not the most patient man!!:lmao:) I can't wait to see your YC room and your review of SAB!

Oh my gosh, we LOVED Stormalong bay. The YC has me totally spoiled pool-wise now! I took tons of pictures too!!

I am so happy to hear that other people are as terrified of butterflies as I am. I thought it was just me. LOL My DB made me walk through the butterfly garden on our trip too. Let just say I quickly made my way to the exit. :rotfl:

At U of T I majored in History with a minor in English and Politics.

I have a friend at U of T right now in History! What are you doing now?

And eeek! I can't imagine entering the garden. You're so brave LOL. And I always thought my fear of butterflies was weird so it's interesting to see it's more common than I thought!

It's nice knowing I'm not the only one afraid of butterflies. Most people don't know that they have fang & bite! I'm also afraid of birds.

Great installment! I love Epcot!

Agh!! I didn't even know they have fangs and bite!! Thanks, Beka.:rotfl:

So glad you got the sunglasses. Great to finally see a shot of your mom. My kids love Nemo (Okay the eldest hates the whole moving carpet thing but likes the ride) but then they are so not thrill ride people. However, I agree that the theming of the queue is the best part.

Love all your posing with the characters/topiaries. Have you ever considered their college program? I see the makings of a great face character in you!

It would seriously be my DREAM to be a character at Disney. I would love, love, love it. I'm hoping to do the international college program at some point. I still have a couple years of school ahead of me, so I'm hoping to squeeze it in before I graduate!

WOW! I can't get over how gorgeous all the topiaries are. :lovestruc You're pictures are great!!

Ugh, I don't blame you about the birds. They are so...DISGUSTING!!!

I think crows are the worst. They totally freak me out. And the topiaries were awesome. I wish I'd taken even MORE pictures!

How did I get so far behind? I loved the princess topiaries. I wish they kept that up all year. I'll have to plan a mother/daughter trip so me and my om can enjoy the F&GF.:goodvibes My kids would absolutely not let me go to Disney without them though:lmao:
That woman is far too youn to be your mother - Who is she really:rotfl2:
What's with all you people and the butterflies:confused3 - I could understand if they were biting insects - but they're beautiful and painless:lovestruc
Can't wait to see your yacht club room:cutie:

I don't know, butterflies just creep me out. I hate how they flutter and have fuzzies on them. I know, I'm weird LOL.

And my mom would love to hear that compliment! Next time we go we should make T shirts that say "Disney Sisters" or something... see if we could get anyone to believe us!

Yum! Your food from Tangierine Cafe looks so yummy! I've never been able to persuade any of my family to try it, so I've never eaten there. Nemo and Friends looks cute...I am trying to decide if Kelly and I should do that one, mainly because neither of us have done it. Based on what you said about it, we will probably do it if the line is short. :)
Can't wait to read about the Yacht Club, and see pics!

I would definitely do it if the line isn't too long. It's a short ride, so it doesn't take up much time even if you don't like it. And you have to eat at Tangierine Cafe next time you go. Mmm so good!!!

Your pictures are so pretty and while I am looking at them I keep saying to myself, I will be there tomorrow! Eeee! :lmao:

AHH YOU ARE THERE NOW! I HOPE YOU'RE HAVING AN AMAZING TRIP!!!

What a great morning/early afternoon!! All of your pictures are just gorgeous. I've never eaten at TC, but I've heard amazing things about it. I want to try it out when we go! And I can't wait to see pictures of the Yacht Club!!! By the way, I'm loving the fact that you update so often--it makes it so interesting to follow your TR! :thumbsup2

I'm going to have the next update done before dinner hopefully! And I hope you do try TC, it's delicious. Believe me, I went on photo overload at the Yacht Club so you'll get to see tons!

I love MouseGears!

Hm...I haven't tried the food at Morocco!

That walkway looks nice!

Oooh, you have to try it! And MouseGears is one of my favourite WDW gift shops, I think.

I loved the manatees! :lovestruc One has an owie on his/her tail and I was curious to know more about them both, but I couldn't find CM anywhere in the area! :confused3

What a great day in EPCOT!

I'm excited for YC check in!! :yay:

Aww, thanks! Like I mentioned above, I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be a princess. I could finally put all my years of ballet training to good use LOL.

And I think we must have lucked out with the manatees because there was a CM right there feeding them and doing a while little information spiel on them. I didn't realize he wasn't there all the time!

Great Updates - I can't wait to hear about checking in at the Yacht club - hopefully it is as magical as ASM... Can't wait to read more about your trip! Can't wait for more...

Our check in at the YC went perfectly!! I'll have the update up in the next hour or so... just have to get the photos loaded up. And I got kind of obsessive with pictures on this trip. I'm actually going to try and take fewer pictures in June! LOL

Check in at the Yacht Club! Day Two, Part 3.

Our tummies full of lamb, hummus and couscous, my mother and I headed toward to Yacht Club. The walk around Crescent Lake is just beautiful. First the Beach Club came into view with its cheerful blue paint and brightly coloured flowers, and then the Yacht Club was right around the corner with its distinguished red awnings, well manicured hedges and quiet nautical music.

Eventually we reached the lobby and were met with a blast of air conditioning and sweetly scented air. I’d read about the Beach Club lobby having a wonderful scent, but I never knew the Yacht Club did too! It smelt like a little bit of cinnamon, a little bit of wood and a quiet coziness and calmness. It was perfect. The YC lobby is just gorgeous. Even though it doesn’t have the soaring million foot ceilings of other Deluxes like the Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Grand Floridian, it is beautifully decorated and everything is gleaming. I just love it.

We walked up to the check in desk, not really hoping for our room to be ready because it was only just after 12:00. I was a little bit nervous because we hadn’t made a room request, we were just winging it. The CM checking in was very pleasant, and the CM at the computer beside her turned out to be from Brampton, ON, just an hour from us. So we chatted about how she ended up at Disney and missed Canada while all the administrative stuff was figured out. Shortly we were given our keys, our room number and were ready to go!

Our room # was 1152 so we assumed that was on the first floor. I was kind of bummed because we were on the ground floor of the Poly in December and I was kind of hoping for a balcony. I kept my mouth shut though, and we set off searching for our room. We got a little bit lost but after being pointed in the right direction by a CM, we finally found our hallway!

The first thing I was concerned about was the view, so I barreled straight past the bathroom and the beds and flung open the curtains. I had panicked for nothing… our view was PERFECT! We had a lovely view of the rose gardens and wedding gazebo and we could even see the marina if we looked to the side a little bit. I was thrilled.

Now that I was satisfied with our room’s location, I decided to check out the room itself. Definitely quite a bit smaller than our room at the Poly and not as newly refurbished, but it was perfectly comfortable for us. I thought the bathroom area was the nicest part of the room and was a huge fan of the double sinks!

I know the YC rooms are being refurbed soon, so I’m interested to see what they’ll look like when they’re done. I have to say though, I would be perfectly content to stay at the YC again even without a refurb. The rooms aren’t flashy, but they’re very nice.

I was excited to see we had another towel Mickey!

ry%3D480

We couldn’t hit Stormalong Bay yet because our luggage transfer hadn’t made it to our room yet so I took a quick nap in the (very comfortable) bed while my mom sat out on the patio and enjoyed the atmosphere. Of course, she also snapped a few pictures of the garden and of me enjoying my first nap at WDW.

Believe me, there were many more to come!!

While I was asleep she also called Bell Services to check on the status of our luggage. It was already at the resort so they brought it right down to the room. When I woke up, she said that when the CM had brought the luggage she went to her wallet to get a tip for him… and the only American money she had was a $10 bill! She wanted to give him a tip, so he ended up with our souvenir budget for the night! LOL

Once our luggage had arrived, I was raring to go! I couldn’t wait to hit Stormalong Bay. I had read so much about it, seen so many pictures… I could just feel the sand between my toes. So we quickly got changed, donned our matching Princess towels…

ry%3D480

…and wandered over!

Ahhh. We were both ready for a relaxing afternoon at Stormalong Bay before we returned to Epcot to finally ride Soarin’, say hello to Mickey and the gang, stuff ourselves at Teppan Edo and… UH OH. The first bad news of the trip!!!

Ugh! A cliffhanger!!!
The YC looks fantastic! I LOVE that pool! We were definitely spoiled last year, the Poly pool was just too small! You had a great view! Last year there was a wedding on the gazebo when we were there and it was beautiful! We're thinking about BLT or YC for next year!

The YC looks lovely, and glad you were happy with your room/view :) ooh what a end to the update, i want to know what the bad news is now ....

Im so glad you werent disappointed with your room and the view! Yay! Stormalong Bay looks so awesome! :yay: Your YC pictures are really great. It seems you never really hear too much about YC but it looks like a friendly resort to stay at. It will be exciting to see what kind of refurb plans they have for it!

I hope the UH OH is not too bad! :thumbsup2

I always forget about the YC but it looks lovely. Your Mom spread some pixie dust with a $10 tip. Can't wait to hear what the Uh-Oh was. A sunburn perhaps?

Oh c'mon a cliffhanger?! :upsidedow

The room looks so nice.

Okay, my parents have to laugh at me when I get really cold in WDW buildings, but it's because they have the A/C on full blast! Oh well.

The Yacht Club looks like such a great place to stay. I hope your bad news isn’t too bad.

I’m currently working as a Marketing Analyst for a software company.

I already see aproblem with YC for me. The resort is so beautiful I'd have a hard time leaving for the parks

Very cool. I'm loving the pictures. We are staying in the yacht club in less than two weeks standard view. So now I know to request a gazebo view. Very cool, I can't wait to be there.

Ah, Yacht Club. I would LOVE to stay there. We stayed at the Beach Club once, a million years ago, just as a treat, not on a Disney trip. This had to be...ah, 6th or 7th grade, ('97, '98) so it was been quite a while! The room looks great, and Stormalong Bay is so fun! Does it still have a sandy bottom? That is what I remember the most about staying at the Beach Club! :)

Oh my goodness! The YC is absolutely gorgeous!!! :lovestruc So, so pretty. I'm glad you got a nice, relaxing nap in. I can't wait to hear all about the night!! Teppan Edo is so yummy. Oh no for bad news... :sad2: Hope it's not too bad!

Great update - can't wait for Teppen Edo... That is one of our favorites!

We'll be doing Teppen Edo in a few weeks so I can't wait to hear how that went!

Hello, I just found your TR and I am loving everything so far :goodvibes I love all the pictures you include (I am a bit obsessive when it comes to taking pictures) and I definitely have moved the Yacht Club to the top of my list of resorts to stay at in the future....woah super run-on sentence there

Can't wait for the next update!!

What a beautiful view (so serene)! The Yacht Club is gorgeous - would love to stay there some day (if only you could rent points there).

Now what's with this cliffhanger!!?? Can't wait to find out what happens next :surfweb:
