Alien Encounter gave me PTSD!! A Dec '14 PTR **Life Update 5/11 & 5/15**

It was new when we rode it in June. It's where they have a CM who does most of the talking, etc. Maybe some of the buses still have the old one? I just liked it better when all the characters get on the bus and arrive at the resort, etc.

I like the characters arriving too. Oh well, I'll be excited to be on DME no matter what!

April, it's good to see you back on the DIS. Love your new puppy.

Steph, the plans for the FIRST full day at the park sound wonderful. I love doing EMH's in the a.m. because you can get so much done in that first hour.

Thanks! I agree, morning EMHs are great for getting a couple of the most popular rides done before the general masses arrive! :goodvibes

Hello! I am chiming in to say that I hope you get your FP+ that you want and am looking forward to hearing about that... Good Luck!

See, that is the only benefit of living this far away from wdw and every fabulous thing in the USA... Here it is 7 - 8 am when the bookings open:cool1:

Tonight is the night, FP+ booking night! Since I already have seen that there is low availability left for my first few days there for several attractions I will be staying up and booking at midnight! Fingers crossed I get what we want, and I'm not too much of a zombie at work tomorrow since I have to get up at 5am for work! :rotfl:

Sending lots and lots of pixiedust: that you get everything you want.

:woohoo::dance3::banana: Fastpass+ options all booked! I got what attractions I wanted each day and was able to edit them to great times too! I'll update more later, for now I need to sleep!! :lmao:

DAY TWO: MONDAY DECEMBER 22ND

George and I will be getting up early this morning, probably 5:30-5:45am (which, funny enough, is sleeping in a bit for us both, since we get up at 5am 5 days a week normally!) and after showering we will head over to OPR for breakfast:

And then to the OPR bus stop for our first park, which has morning EMH that morning so we want to get there by 7:30am for the 8am opening. And what park will we go to first? Magic Kingdom of course!!

(that's the best sign picture I could find in my photobucket account :rotfl: )
The park is open until 1am with EMH from 8am-9am. Since I won't have our FP+ booked until next week I'm not 100% sure what order we will do things in, but I do know we will try to get as much done as possible and stay as late as we can. A few things I know we will do, whether with a FP+ or standby line, are:

...and whatever else we can do will be great too!

Lunch will either be at BOG if I can get a FP+ ressie, or if not most likely will be either Pecos Bills or Cosmic Rays, depending on what we are feeling like that day.

For dinner we have an ADR at 6:25pm here:

I look forward to eating here for my third trip in a row and for George's first time (he thinks, he doesn't remember any of the meal locations from his first trip 20+ years ago!).

I'm trying to get a Dessert party reservation for us for this night, but so far no luck. If I get one then we'll be doing that, otherwise we will just watch the castle show and Wishes from somewhere else and get our own snack! We plan on staying as late as we can so we can get as much done as possible. We know we won't get everything done since it's a holiday week, even with 2 days per park, but we will try to do as much as we can! :goodvibes In any case we probably won't stay all the way until closing since we have to get up at 6:30am the next day, but who knows?!

EDIT: I booked our FP+ so here they are:

10am - 11am: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
11am - 12pm: Splash Mountain
8:50pm - 9:50pm: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (not thrilled with this one but they had no better times available still)

NEXT TIME: DAY 3!

Yay for getting your FP+ done! I can see how you'd probably want an earlier mine train FP but at least you were able to get one. :thumbsup2

DAY THREE, TUESDAY DECEMBER 23RD

This will be our first day here:

We will get up around 6:30am, shower, walk to OPR for breakfast then the bus stop. The park opens at 9am, so I'm hoping we get to Epcot by 8:30am so we won't be too far back in line. My usual plan is to head quickly to The Land to ride Soarin before it gets too crazy, but we will be doing something different today! As soon as we are let in the park we will make our way to here:

And hope we don't have to wait too long to ride it. After we finish we will do Mission Space (which I cannot find a picture for!) and this one:

Something I've never done will be up next, Innoventions East and West. I've walked in and through the buildings, but never stopped to do any of the activities. George and I want to get them done this time, especially Sum of All Thrills!

Probably around now we will venture into World Showcase for the only time this day. George loves fish and chips, so we will be getting lunch at Yorkshire since we aren't eating at Rose and Crown either of our days at Epcot.

After lunch it will probably be time for our first FP+!

I'm sure we will look at the marine life in the pavilion for a while until it is time for our second FP+, Turtle Talk with Crush!

Any animals we didn't get to see will be observed before we leave The Seas for The Land! We have our third FP+ there, for Soarin from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. If we still have time before it starts we will do Living With the Land, otherwise we will ride it after Soarin!

There will still be time after these two attractions until our dinner ADR, so up next will be Journey into the Imaginations and/or SSE, depending on time and lengths of the standby waits! Once 6:45pm rolls around though we will be checking in for dinner at a restaurant I've eaten at my last 3 trips!

I know Coral Reef gets mixed reviews, but I really like it and George is looking forward to it too!

After dinner we will hit any attractions in Future World we had to miss earlier. Except Captain Eo, I doubt we will do that as I HATE it (it's my least favorite attraction at WDW, even moreso than Stitch!) and George wasn't interested in it either. I doubt we will get a 4th FP+ due to the holidays, but if we do then we will use it. At around 9pm we will find a spot to watch Illuminations, since it starts at 9:30pm.

After Illuminations we will see how we feel. There are evening EMHs until 11:30pm, so if we have more we want to do and aren't too tired we may stay, otherwise we will follow the masses out and back to CBR to sleep! :rotfl:

NEXT TIME: DAY 4

April, it's good to see you back on the DIS. Love your new puppy.

Steph, the plans for the FIRST full day at the park sound wonderful. I love doing EMH's in the a.m. because you can get so much done in that first hour.

Thanks! I missed everyone! It was a tough 3 years with Isis's ailment, but worth it to keep her feeling good. I'll be up and posting a billion photos soon! :rotfl:

:woohoo::dance3::banana: Fastpass+ options all booked! I got what attractions I wanted each day and was able to edit them to great times too! I'll update more later, for now I need to sleep!! :lmao:

That's awesome! I couldn't get the Mine Train. But my trip was so last minute! I am so looking forward to seeing photos!

I like your Epcot day plans. Love the Fish and Chips, and we always enjoy our meals at Coral Reef.

Your plans for attractions sound great.

Congratulations on successfully getting your FP+ booked! I stayed up till midnight and still couldn't get everything when we booked ours. :faint:

Hi Stephanie I'm back and all caught up. Love your plans so far. Bummer that you couldn't get an earlier time for 7DMT on your first day. I didn't have any problems for my early December trip but that's probably just a sign of the expected crowd levels.

I hope you are able to get the BOG FP. I want to try to get one too for my trip.

I finally walked through the Innovations side near Test Track (I can never remember which is East and which is West). I took one look at Sum of All Thrills and knew I couldn't handle it with my motion sickness issues.

Yummy dinner location, I'm eating there in December too, I'm doing the Candlelight Dinner Package.

Whoo Hoo on getting your FP+ that you wanted! :woohoo: I enjoy reading about your plans and I am taking notes :cutie:. I was wondering how you know about availability beforehand? Is it on MDE or is there a thread you are following?
