We are getting better now at managing to stay asleep. This morning it was 5.30am before we got up. Check out was at 11.00am, so plenty of time to pack up, blog, walk round the Boardwalk and then breakfast. Were finally ready to leave at about 8.30am. We are so near the entrance to the hotel that there is no need for Bell Services. Rick and I move the luggage out to the front of the hotel, and after Rick collects the car and we load up, we wish the Boardwalk goodbye for now. Well be back soon.
First stop is the post office on Sand lake Road to post a parcel to Becky in California and pick up some stamps for those all important post cards.
After filling up with gas on International Drive, we take a slow drive down to the Radisson Resort at the Port (Port Canaveral). On our way I get the cards written, so that they can be posted in Canaveral.
We pull up in front of the hotel at 11.00am, and whilst Rick stays with the car, I go inside to see if we can check in and off load the luggage in the room. Were in luck our room is ready ..but thats where the luck ends. The room is the very last room at the very far end of the complex. Thankfully, its on the ground floor so we dont have to haul the luggage up the stairs.
A few items need to be purchased for the cruise and as there is a post office right across the street from the hotel, this is the first stop before we have lunch in McDonalds which is next door to the post office. We find the local Walmart and Merritt Square Mall and spend a couple of hours browsing and picking up items such as milk, shampoo, etc.
Back at the hotel, its time to try out the pool pictures later promise. Rick heads for the spa as his shoulders have been aching for a couple of days now. I get my first sighting of some BOBers Joanne, Roger, Dan and Nancy and I pop over to say hi. We spend some time chatting and getting to know them, even though I have been talking to them on the DIS for sometime now.
Back to the room to have a shower and get ready for dinner at Grills. We hope to meet up with some more BOBers there. Grills is very busy tonight and the outside seating area is full. Plenty of seating inside though, which we are quite happy with. Just by chance Rose and June arrive shortly after and I ask them to join us. The food was so good, but time was against us as we had all agreed to meet back at the Radisson Pool for a semi-formal BOB meet at 8.00pm. We meet a lot more BOBers Capt Chris and his family, Leisha and Tom, Angie and her daughter, Nancy and Chuck, and finally Robin and bad dawg Mike. Rose and I make arrangements to watch the Magic sail into port tomorrow. Rose said she will pick up me up at 4.20am. Rick just thinks I'm mad.
So as we have an extremely early start tomorrow, they say goodnight at 9.30pm.
