Alex & Tim's PJ: SBP/Sago Cay/YSH 12/09/09: UPDATED-Hair is done!

Think we have decided on the music:

Vivaldi's Four Seasons (main theme that everyone knows) for walking down the isle.

You Belong To Me (Shrek) for the sand ceremony. I've found the sheet music on the internet.

Anything Disney for the cake ceremony.

What was the outcome of the room booking situation?

IT REALLY DOES DEPEND on who you speak to at disney as I spoke to 3 different people and then the last one said ok we can pencil you in and then i was in contact with a sales manager heidi untill a few weeks beofre our contract date and then we dealt with bill for that then he passed us over to our planner Meri

What was the outcome of the room booking situation?

I was really concerned about the room booking (not sure if you saw my separate post) as they need a reservation number to confirm the date and contract. I checked and Disney's cancellation policy is 5 working days. I couldn't work out how it worked - how can you book rooms when they haven't confirmed the date?! You can alter the reservation once it's booked so that was ok. That was a big weight off my mind! It also helped me budget as we will need the deposit and the money for the room at practically the same time.

She explained that they confirm the date with a Letter Of Agreement (contract) and the reservation number and details of the room booking need to be on the contract. They can tell you that the date is available at the 12 month mark but won't confirm by contract until they have the details of the room booking. We are going to wait until we know the date we want is available, book the room and then call them back with the reservation number.

The other option is to book the room beforehand and then change the date if you need to. The last time I looked on the Disney site they were only taking bookings up to 31st December this year so you might have a problem if you did want to book a room at more than 12 months out. I didn't ask about having to book direct with them - she didn't say we needed to but I didn't ask!

They were so helpful when I spoke to them even though it is nearly two years to our wedding date and had no problem helping me with the queries I had.

Awww, Tim is buying me this:

They have it in burgundy with is our other colour but I thought it might look a bit strange when nothing else on me is that colour.

I love this, so weddingy and unusual. And free thanks to Tim :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc

The dress saga continues.

I've bought a case from Matalan for Tim to use as hand luggage and it is the size that BA allow. They have a 21kgs cabin luggage allowance so I am going to get one of the boxes from The Empty Box Company to put my dress in and take it as hand luggage. I bought the case for Tim so we can both use it as hand luggage as I won't be able to take anything through apart from the dress box. After looking at the size of the case I'm sure the dress will fit - well, it has to!

I've also bought a vacuum space bag that is the approx size of the box and will use it to lightly remove the air. I read that the vacuum bags can damage the bones on the dress so that's why I'm going to lightly use it. It will save the air getting back into the nets.

Rev Jack Day. Big no no for us. To cut a long story short he was supposed to send the non-religious ceremonies through by fax but didn't. When I queried it he said he thought he had done it but had replied to 200 emails already that day, had done 4 weddings the day before and was having a senior moment.

So, I'm not important, he was too tired and had senior moments! Err, no. Don't think so. i told him not to hurry to put the ceremonies in the post as I worried with his past history what would happen on our wedding day. don't think he'd want us to book him now!

Randall Miller came back to me to say he doesn't take bookings until 9 months out and was so lovely. We've got the date scheduled to call him and hopefully book him.

This is cute!

I was talking to my mum the other day and asking who is supposed to hold my bag/purse during the wedding coz I didn't want to carry it down the aisle, and for that matter who is supposed to hold the bridesmaids purses coz I don't want them to carry them either?!
She didn't seem to get my concern, but little details like this puzzle me! :lmao:

I asked my Mom to carry mine and the first thing she said was that it wouldn't go with her outfit! Doesn't she know it is all about me, sorry, DBF and me?! :rotfl2:

Thank you, I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. I've looked at loads but this is definietly the one.

i had a bag of "reception items" including my purse at the ceremony site for me. my bridesmaids took them to LSS for me while we were having post-ceremony pics taken!

Who looked after them at the ceremony?

I am enjoying you TR Alex! I love your dress. I would like the same type of style with a pick up skirt and no train. I don't know if I could pull it off though because I am very short! I am not going dress shopping until March so I will have to see. Your shoes and bag are great too.

Just read your whole PJ as I'm planning a Dec 09 wedding as well but have done no planning so far apart from deciding on the date 30th Dec and the place Sunset Pointe so I will be copying everything you do I think!

Thank you! I'm thinking about getting the train removed from the dress as it really annoyed me and I'd like the 'Belle' look. Not sure on that yet, I may just get it made smaller. I'm 5'6" and Tim is only a couple of inches taller than me so I'm not wearing big heels and there seemed to be loads of train!

Hey Chilly, copy away! Glad it helps. I must admit, a lot of the ideas have come from pinching other people's ideas, but then that's what I love about this whole thing. Things might be common amongst us on here but it will be the first time our guests have seen it. Great ideas breed great ideas I reckon :thumbsup2

WOOHOO - booked Randy Chapman today! What a lovely man, although he insists on telling me how good the weather is in Orlando. I'm sitting with the heating on full, t-shirt and sweatshirt, fluffy socks and slippers and he tells me it is 75f with a light breeze coming through his open windows.

Hmmm, we might just fall out at this rate :rotfl:

He did the same to me! I then countered with what my SIL is dealing with... -40! Great guy! he made me so excited about the shoot and going over some of his ideas.

Congrats on getting him!

Congrats on getting him!! I didn't know you could book him so far in advance. That's good to know.

Dude - stop being so organised :lmao:

I'm just jealous coz I've got to wait until the school term dates are released to be able to finalise a date - dammit! I even rang up the county council to try and find out, they seemed to think March would be when they are released.

Incidentally, I did try and get a heads up, I filled in the online form on Misty Miotto's website but haven't heard anything back from her still :sad1: I wanted to make sure that our guessed dates weren't all booked up. Perhaps I'll see if there's an email address and just send a normal email rather than filling in the online form.
I'll go and sulk back on my own PJ and see if anyone has had this happen before :sad2:

Great news though that you got Randy for your date, coz he is really really popular :thumbsup2

I'm not that organised, I just like spending money!!

I'm sure Misty has a hotmail address (I remember seeing it somewhere) so you may get more luck with that. If I can find it I;ll post it for you. I'm sure she's just really busy at the mo :goodvibes

It was a hard decision between Misty and Randy but Randy got the edge for us. I'm so pleased we got him - just Disney to get next :scared1:
