I had never been to an Aldi until a month ago, and now I do a fair amount of our weekly shopping there.
We've been doing taste-tests and product tests, and these are the items that we like and that I continue to purchase there:
frozen Cozzi brand pizza (similar type to Tombstone brand)
the chocolate covered ice cream cones mentioned above
skim and 1% milk (the only negative is that they don't carry skim milk in gallons, only 1/2 gallons)
shredded Mexican blend cheese
cereals similar to Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Wheaties
sugar
eggs
instant coffee and powdered creamer (DH keeps this in his office at work)
salsa (we've tried, and like, the shelf version and refrigerated)
tortillas (we use these to make wraps, burritos, quesadillas, etc)
pasta (they have whole wheat, whole grain, and regular; we like them all)
Fit & Active yogurt (similar to Dannon Light & Fit)
Greek yogurt
toilet paper (the Charmin Ultra Strong knock off)
graham crackers (regular and cinnamon)
fresh chicken legs and thighs
fat free half & half
Low calorie drink packets (similar to Crystal Light On the Go)
paper plates (the Dixie knock off)
Chunky Soup: chicken corn chowder, clam chowder, chicken and dumplings
potato rolls (hamburger and hot dog rolls)
mayo
ketchup
spicy brown mustard
yellow mustard
pancake mix
real maple syrup
green seedless grapes
white potatoes
sea salt
pork tenderloin
natural peanut butter
wheat bread
That's all that I can think of right now. I was buying 93% lean ground beef from there too, but DH and DS each got a piece of gristle or whatever, so now they've deemed Aldi beef off limits. LOL Honestly, I've never NOT gotten tiny specks of gristle in ground beef on occasion, and I only buy 90% or 93% lean. But I humor them and buy fresh beef elsewhere.
I also wish that they sold fresh whole chickens, but they don't. I'm not a fan of frozen.
I love saving an average of $60 per week so I plan to continue shopping at Aldi.
