Alcohol in the Magic Kingdom

Okay let's say a boorish guest become worse with the addition of alcohol. Than what? Do you think that your experience might be affected?
Some guests can drink responsibility but some cannot or will not.

Some think that is not big deal if Mk offers alcohol everywhere.
I think that it is no big deal if MK does not offer alcohol anyplace but BOG. Fair enough.

Madam I am not here to be quizzed by you..............There have been repeated reports by posters of drunks, guests throwing up, falling down and the one that fell over my daughter while she was sitting on a epcot world showcase bench.

If you don't agree.........your free to do so. But please don't rudely try to imply I am lying in some way.

AKK
Maybe you could answer me and find out why I asked before you stamp your feet and claim I said you were lying

I asked to get a number to try and get an idea of the percentage of drunk and unruly guests, in comparison to the number of guests overall

So far we have 1 you have seen. Seems like a rampant problem for sure

Trolls = people who don't agree with you?
whatever you say......... Lol!
Still, anyone of age can have a.drink at another place in WDW..and they have failed at epcot and Disney Springs in controlling it.

...again why is it so wrong to.keep the MK especailly.specail?

It's not wrong, you are right! Ugly things happen when some people drink too much.

It would be "magicless" if people where throwing up on the dumbo ride, in front of kids. Or some drunken father drinks lashes out on his kids in front of others. It would be awful.

As a guest of the WDW, I appreciate the very limited amount of alcohol offered @ MK . I am grateful for extremely high prices on booze. If it was cheaper we would obviously see more problems in the other parks.

I'm just curious as to why you'd post an image of a troll. It seems you either don't understand what a troll is or you posted a random picture on a discussion thread for no reason.

Ummmm.......I'm ignoring you. Not arguing with you. Just google it.

Actually Epoct is not even close to the Magic Kingdom. If you have been in Epcot during f and W and many ween end nights you would see the drunks and problems with the amount of alcohol .

I don't see any poems with the AK or HS.

However for all the resins I have mentioneded before there just is not need to have alcohol in the MK. There are a hundred other places to enjoy a drink. My wife and I do.

Keeping the MK specail andmagical as it is , not to mention WALT'S original wishes, areore then enough reasons to keep alcohol out of the M K.

Please if you need or want a frinks, go enjoy them outside the MK. We do as well.

AKK

I've been to F&W on weekend nights, and on the final night as well. We've never seen people staggering around drunk and being rude. I don't doubt those that have had it happen to them personally, but it also isn't just a "given" that if you go to F&W on the weekends that you'll see this behavior either.

I quite agree, it would be all kinds of 'magicless' to see people throwing up on Dumbo or treating their kids badly. I'm also sure both things happen daily in MK without alcohol. This also does not seem to be a problem at, say, AK. I've never seen drunk people throwing up on Triceratops Spin or beating their kids on the safari. I don't know what it would be about alcohol in MK that would make people lose their minds and start getting drunk left and right.

My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at BOG. Started with a wonderful champagne. Each couse was paired with a fabulous wine suggested by our very knowledgeable server. Atmosphere, food, service, and wine was an amazing dining experience.

And not once did we notice or care what any other guest was eating, drinking, or wearing. We were enjoying OUR vacation our way. And we never once got drunk :)

In a word it was magical.

I have no doubt that dinner and drinks with your headband was a "magical" experience.

I'm right there with you. We've been to F&W the last 5 years and have never seen these stumbling, puking drunks that people are referencing. I've also never seen them at Disney Springs. That's not to say there aren't people here and there that have had to much to drink, but it's definitely not the norm.

One thing I have learned here is that "magic" is often the code word for no logical reason.

1) Fits me and I fully admit it.
. . . no proof of drunken bad behavior in MK
. . . no proof of unsightly drunkards in MK
. . . no proof of folks stumbling around due to booze in MK
. . . no proof of vast amounts of people being be out of control in MK
2) STRICTLY PERSONAL OPINION.
3) And, yes, can be out-of-step opinions from the vast majority of other guests.
4) But, hey, I am retired, and
. . . golf in Florida about twice weekly, year-around
. . . volunteer for four organizations at any time
. . . conduct three marriages or vow renewals ceremonies per month
. . . remain happy in my ideas (even if/when others believe them misplaced)

NOTE: My fear of bad behavior is SOLELY based upon the perception that MK has the longest wait times for rides of any WDW park. In the sun-heat-humidity of Florida, I am afraid that those already in a bad mood from waiting would/could abuse alcohol. I admit I could be wrong, but too many people already react poorly - without the effects of booze.

I actually think your last paragraph is a valid concern but I'm surprised that hasn't happened in EPCOT. Just think about how someone might feel if they'd finished drinking around the world and then waited 45 min to ride Figment. Yikes!

Hubby and I enjoy our glass of wine with dinner at BOG... It's all about moderation and responsibility.

As long as they don't start popping kiosks and walk-up alcohol stands there, I don't think it would affect anything adversely. I have to say in our recent trips to EPCOT we have been disappointed in the amount of clearly intoxicated people walking around (mostly at night). I personally attribute that to the kiosks. It's been a bummer as we have two impressionable tweens and they are accustomed to seeing us drink responsibly (i.e. a *glass* of wine or beer). When we have been in EPCOT at times, they noticed the intoxication and actually seemed frightened.

People often see what they want to see. Here we have people complaining about the amount of alcohol in WDW parks. In contrast, I have a relative who visited Universal parks with her DH. I asked how they liked it. They hated it. When I asked her why, she said it was because they sold alcohol everywhere in the parks. They would have really enjoyed, if not for that. As it was, they wouldn't return. I reminded her that alcohol is sold at most of WDW also. She said in all her trips she'd never once seen anyplace other than a few of the restaurants where you could purchase alcohol. When I told her it was sold at most restaurants, as well as them having stand alone bars & booths that served it, she was adamant that I was wrong. She had been to WDW many times & knew better. I just didn't know what I was talking about. In her opinion, the very limited alcohol sold all over WDW property made it more magical than UO. I just rolled my eyes at her & DH & I had a good laugh about it later. Our mind is a funny thing. We can convince ourselves of anything, if it fits our personal agenda.

As far as alcohol being sold in all MK restaurants, I don't care one way or the other. However, I don't think it would make a major impact on guest behavior, if it was. We've been to the parks many times at all times of year. The only time I've seen drunks behaving badly was at Epcot on NYE. In no way is that indicative of what you could expect to see in MK.

All I keep envisioning are kegs popping up in front of the castle and Spring Breakers lifting their shirts for beads being thrown from parade floats if alcohol is served in MK!! What will the World come to???
