We are going for the first time in May an we are taking our 2 children. Of course my husband and I would like to enjoy ourselves as well with a beer or drink here and there.
Are there many places to find alcohol or are they few and far between?

There are plenty of places to enjoy a libation on property with the exception of the Magic Kingdom. Alcohol is not served there, but you can enjoy anywhere else. My suggestion would be to enjoy some of the flavors of the World's Showcase in Epcot! Enjoy!

There is alcohol served everywhere with the exception of MK.

What will get you is the price; it will vary from place to place, but expect to pay a lot than you pay at home.

Also, the resorts all have outdoor lounges that are open from 11:00 am to around 4:00 ish, when the lounges open and stay open until about 11:00 or 12:00. Don't discount going to some of the other resorts. They also each have a munchie menu. Wilderness Lodge is one of my favorites, as well as the Yacht Club - beside my own, at POR, bring over the kids around 8:00 pm and they can see Yee-hah Bob; a great entertainer.

Also your resort store will sell a limited amount of liquor (very expensive) to take back to your room.

And Epcot is loaded with all kinds of specialites "around the world."

Aah, the grand marnier slush always comes to mind.

There is even what is called "drinking around the world", but I would suggest doing that on a trip without the kids.

There are many many places to get a drink at both the parks and resorts. Most resorts have their own bar and often time sell little bottles of mixed drinks or beer in the freeze section of the quick service area.

Best place to drink is Epcot, lots and lots of selections. I greatly recommend the Grand Marnier Orange Slush over in France!

Just remember that Magic Kingdom is a dry park, no alcohol inside, and you're not allowed to bring it in either.

But if you do need a little pick me up which at MK you can always hop a monorail over to one of the near by hotels and hit up their bar (or just walk to the Contemporary).

I recall seeing a website called Drinking In Disney or something like that. It lists everywhere alcohol is served with some of their choices for best drinks in each spot.

My DH and I love WDW because we don't have to drive so we can both enjoy a nice libation! Epcot is our favorite place with lots of interesting drinks from 'around the world'. And you can also get a drink at your resort lounge or pool bar. And while some drinks may seem overpriced, they are the same price as they would be at a nice restaurant or other touristy area you would go to (think $8 or $9 or even more for the specialty items like margaritas from La Cava).

You will be able to find an alcoholic drink many places in the parks and in the resorts and restaurants (but not at the Magic Kingdom). And no, they aren't few and far between. But many times there is a 2 drink minimum per adult so if you are buying a round for 4 adults, you will need 2 people at the window to get 4 drinks at once.

Drinking around the world at Epcot is my favorite.:lovestruc

Yes do go to France and get the Grand Marnier Orange Slushy or the Grey Goose Lemon Slushy.

The Tequila bar in Mexico is good.

I am not a big beer drinker but I hear the beers in Germany are pretty good. England as well.

My favorite hotel spot is the Victoria Springs Bar located at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. They have a little appetizer menu there. The one over at Kidani Village is good too. You can get a drink and then sit outside by the firepit in a rocking chair.
