Alaska - May 17-24

I am really enjoying your pictures:)

I'm anxiously awaiting more pictures and updates!

Your photographs are absolutely stunning! I'm showing them off to the rest of my cruisemates. I feel like I have to get them hyped up for it. Even though it's not til Aug 23rd, I'm super excited!

Up to this point, you been viewing Skagway from the deck of the ship - kind of amazing all by itself. Once off the ship, we proceeded to the train - our destination = Fraser Pass (highest point on the journey). All pictures from this point on are taken with my Canon D10 - a PnS, or DHs Bloggie - or my SLR

Since I wanted to take pictures (unobstructed by windows) slightly more than I wanted to hear the spiel, we elected to stand on the platform between rail cars for the entire trip (about 1.5 hours)

Train makes stops - in this case, a group looked like they were getting off at the caboose to have a picnic....

Next up, a few of DSs pictures from the Bloggie...

Loving your pictures. We are cruising Alaska next May with Princess :sad2: not DCL b/c my Mom couldn't use her points on DCL.

Room enough for two rail lines - the drop off to the left is pretty sheer.....

For awhile, there was dense smoke from the engine on the train in front of us. Wasn't inside to hear the explanation - but it appeared in all pictures for awhile.

Really enjoyed the bike tour - something exhilarating about descending over 3,000 feet in an hour and a half - doesn't lend itself to picture-taking, and you do have to concentrate on maintaining your place in line - but the adrenaline helps make a deep impression!

Bike ride complete, we explored the "town".....

Loving your pics and TR!! That biking trip looks amazing...if only my kids could bike without training wheels...:rotfl:

INCREDIBLE, I have been waiting to go on this bike adventure with you (from the comfort of my couch).

What is a bloggie????

Sorry.

This filter lets more light in on the lower half of the scene while letting less in at the top (or vice versa if you turn it upside down).

In the case of the your photo with the water, mountain and sky where the sky is washed out a bit it would give the sky a little more detail.

BTW .... thanks for the photos. They are very good and helps me in my planning for our trip.

that sounds like a good filter to have, well someday when I get a nice camera. LOL!

your Tracy Arm pictures are INCREDIBLE!

and wow pulling into Skagway too, it is so beautiful!

I think you will still have an awesome time on Princess, they did pioneer some of the Alaska cruises!

Thanks, I am still looking forward to it no doubt. But her picture of Goofy dressed up in winter gear was so cute....those are the little touches we will miss.
