Alaska cruise onboard temperatures?

All of our cruises have been to warm weather destinations, and we are pretty much always hot on the ship (common areas, theaters, dining rooms). Can anyone help with a comparison of general indoor ship temperatures on an Alaska cruise? I'm asking not so much whether you personally were hot or cold (because I know we're outliers in finding the ships generally to be too warm), but how it compares to the indoor temps on a Caribbean or Bahamian cruise.

I remember being comfortable in my jeans and long sleeves/sweaters on board. I do recall a couple of times in the cove cafe I had to take off my jacket because it was too warm in there, but I could have been in direct sunlight. You should be comfortable on board without having to bundle up too much when you go outside. Our cruise was last July, and it was warm up there, we were out by the pool on Juneau and Skagway days, so it may gave just been pleasant everywhere.

Indoor temps are fine. We found out that you're not in northern Alaska but southern Alaska. Outside was not terribly cold during our recent trip. But you will find inside comparable to your other trips.

Thank you! That definitely helps. We were thinking about mostly packing jeans and long sleeves, but if the indoor temps are comparable then we'll definitely need shorts and t-shirts, with a jacket or hoodie to go outside (we're generally comfortable in shorts in temps down into the 50s).

We all wore short sleeves and short/capris on sea days and were fine. I'm never cold in the MDR/theaters when we go on Caribbean cruises.

Did the Alaska cruise a little over a month ago (mid-June) and were fine inside with average clothes on. Outside can be a grab-bag. We had rain and cool weather at the Endicott Glacier and 75 degrees at least with sun by the pool during our last "at sea" day. Pack a swim suit and layers with rain hood for outside. The theaters and restaurants can be cool with the early show/first seating because they expect and get a crowd. Take a sweater if you like, you can always take it off. It might be a hike to get it back at your stateroom.

I did the Alaska cruise in May 2016. I'm someone who normally runs "hot" (i.e. I'm always warmer than pretty much everyone else). I typically wore jeans and a tee or shorts and a tee on board. I also wore shorts and a tee on most of the day excursions, although I also took along a light jumper.

The only day I was cold was travelling up to the glacier. On deck I bundled up with a big jacket, gloves and beanie. Once we'd arrived at the viewing spot (i.e. the cold wind was no longer blowing), jeans and a tee was sufficient. It was plenty warm enough to go swimming on every day, except the glacier day.

I personally felt hot in jeans and t-shirt inside on board almost the whole time last year (May 30-June 6). Could've just been me, but I normally am cold when everyone else is comfortable. I found myself frequently going out to read on deck 4, or just going outside to "hang out" just to cool off.

Alaska is truly an onion cruise. You start off with pants and long sleeves in the mornings, with a jacket/fleece thrown in for weather. Shorts/t-shirts when sunny mid-day, then back to covering up for later. MDR's definitely cool, pants, long-sleeves desired...
